Day 184 of 365 – First Snow
Posted on 08 Nov 2012in 365 Photo Project
I do not think anyone was expecting snow today, it seemed to come out of no where. I was trading photography editing techniques with a friend and fellow photographer, Elijah Vicente, when the snow hit. I have been wanting to try a shot like this for a while, once I saw how fast and hard the snow was falling, I just had to give it a shot. I had Elijah hold my flash behind his back while looking at the camera. At full power, the flash lit up the snow around him, leaving me with a snow silhouette. http://kevinjamesphoto.com/day-184-of-365-first-snow/
Forced perspective bokeh.
Day 168 of 365 – Fixing the internet
My router decided to act up today. While resetting it, I noticed the blue lights could make for some awesome Bokeh. I haven’t used my 50mm 1.8 in a while, so I figured I would pull it out to get some nice big bokeh balls. Then I had to think about what to do in the foreground, considering I was trying to “fix the internet” I figured a wrench was in order.
Here is another photo from yesterday's meteor shower, sans meteors. Like my photography page www.facebook.com/kevinjamesphoto please!
Orionid Sky I tried my best to capture some meteors from the Orionid meteor shower, but of course I did not get any meteors my images. I did get some awesome photos of the stars, and I did actually see some of the meteors with my own eyes, so over all it was not a failed mission. There is a second non-star trail photo I will be posting as well. Technical info: This was done with my 8mm fisheye pointed directly at the sky in the middle of a parking area at the Acadia Management Area in Rhode Island. This is 48, 30 Second photos megerded with StarTrails.exe. ISO 320, f3.5, 30". Like my photos? Give my photography page a like: facebook.com/kevinjamesphoto
This was taken exactly 2 years ago today on October 18th 2010 in Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. I figured I would re-process and edit this image with some of my newer techniques and re-post it. I think I will try doing this "throwback Thursday" thing once a week.
