Anyone else notice how in the opening for 3 Sora looks back at Kairi when he’s about to attack Xehanort and she gives him the go-ahead nod of approval.

Sora states that his journey begun the day he lost Kairi, referring to the moment during Destiny Island’s destruction where he watched Kairi fade away in an instant before his eyes.

Then at the conclusion of Kingdom Hearts 3 we see the roles reversed, Kairi watches as Sora fades away from her grasp. We all know Nomura loves his symbolism and call backs in this series. So, could it not be said then that at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 we witness the day Kairi lost Sora, thus marking the beginning of her journey?
