Choi Young Do (Heirs)
Who doesn't like a love triangle where the second male lead is bad boy yet insanely attractive in whatever he does.
Choi Young Do believes he's the king of Jeguk High school. Bullying innocent kids, destroying properties, disrespectful to everyone who comes his way, Choi Young Do is the ultimate bad guy of the story is what you'll believe in the beginning.
Choi Young Do has a troubled relationship with his father , a deep scar from the time his mother left without even seeing him once before leaving and regret of losing his one best friend Kim Tan. He has ultimately closed doors for anyone who tries to find the real him and puts on a facade of the bad guy to keep his enemies at bay.
One day, his path crosses with Cha eun Sang and he finds himself drawn to her, blissfully unaware that she is actually together with his ex best friend, Kim Tan.
Situations unfold in such a manner where a poor girl Cha Eun Sang begins attending the elite Jeguk high school where Choi Young do begins bullying her in order to get on to Kim tan's nerves. However in this process he failed to realise that he has started to fall for her.
Whenever he saw Kim tan and Eun Sang together, Young Do began realising his petty behaviour. Despite all his efforts, he is unable to show the warmth of his love, because the scars left a deep void in his life, eventually draining all the warmth and happiness.
As we progress into the second half of the story, we see Choi Young Do in a new light.
Choi Young Do and Kim Tan's friendship slowly comes back into life. Daily mockery and terrible fights turned into helping each other get past their family Barriers both emotionally and physically. Instead of trying to pull them apart, Choi Young Do made every effort to bring Kim tan and Eun Sang together.
A few years ago, Young do's mother asked Kim tan to fetch her son so that she can see him one last time, but Young Do's arrogance made him diregard Kim tan's advice making him eventually lose his mother and his best friend.
However when the time comes, Young do realising his mistake he made sure to mend things again.
Young Do's eyes speak more than his gestures. Even when he bullied Eun Sang, it hurt him somewhere see her go through pain. Even if he hated his father, he couldn't bear the sight of him getting arrested. Even though he realised how wrong his behaviour was towards everyone, his eyes were brimming with guilt and the pain of not being forgiven.
At the end, Young Do is able to overcome his demons and let his guard down. When you see this bad boy breaking down like a child in his mother's arms, you realise how certain circumstances made him build walls around him and shut himself, which left a void in his life and relationships. You see this wall slowly breaking down, eventually happy to see the real Choi Young Do again.
