Neat. I may not like Dio as a character but I do see the potential for an AU in which he does learn to be a better person.

I shared an idea a while back with a friend of mine about Dio learning to be a better person after he gets cursed through bizarre circumstances into a cat. Before the confrontation Jonathan planned with Dio and before the Stone Mask is used on those drunks. Dio has to survive the mean streets of London as a fluffy cat, [ I'd depict him as a British long-haired cat.] He is unable to communicate or ask for aid. Kinda like Princess and the Frog, though Dio learns to adapt as a cat with the mind of a man. While Jonathan is searching for him since Dio disappeared before being confronted. Jonathan's relationship with his father and ally Speedwagon are explored while Dio eventually picks up a kitten that decides he is its dad. Eventually Dio's curse is figured out and he becomes human again, though he's changed by the experience and has had to confront many uncomfortable truths. Idk about further plot, but the general idea is that he slowly rebuild his relationship with the Joestars as they don't trust him. It's very slow and he may not be forgiven but he takes a long time to become a better person.

This REALLY reminds me of a movie where a father from a wealthy family went to a pet shop full of cats and he was supposed to buy a cat for his daughter but his attitude was terrible and left empty handed. The shop owner cursed him and when the father got into an accident, his body fell into a coma but he woke up as a cat. At first he would desperately try to find a cure..That father would learn the hardships and he would get to spend time with his daughter as a cat. And it became a life lesson for him. (He turns back eventually)

So I can imagine Dio becoming so paternal towards that kitten. And after he turns back he would keep the kitten calling it “The World” /j

I really love your art, your artstyle and that take on the "Dio survives as a head" thing. It's a "what if" scenario worth of being an AU and as Jonathan Joestar himself (kinnie), I think watchjng over my manchild brother is a cute way to...not to fix our relationship, but have him get unconditional love and maybe, just maybe, in another life, in another reincarnation, he would fix his mistakes...

First of all…THANK YOUUU!!!! Ever since I got back to JJBA my artstyle def changed a lot.

Secondly! I do love the AUs I make for those two brothers. The ending always hurts me and I refuse to accept it. 😭😭😭 let me share one of them.

I usually make “Dio’s redemption” AUs. For example, one of them being “Shared-custody” Jonathan and Dio raising a child TOGETHER, a daughter they accidentally created with their collision during their battle (my OC Josey) whilst saving Erina from her arranged marriage.

At first Dio would plan that after Jonathan wins Erina back he would win full custody of Josey and raise her to go against Jonathan. But as Josey grows older Dio would forget that plan and focus more on Josey’s well being.. Even if he’s born evil, I’d say it takes time for him to rehabilitate. But that just my HC for Dio.

As for Jonathan, as much as I love him I tend to give the characters I love more angst than they already have….. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

Like I’ve mentioned, Erina’s arranged marriage. Jonathan and Erina would meet again after the final battle with a child 💀... He would tell her he had no choice but to raise Josey in an isolated place for safety reasons. They would still be in contact until…. He would discover about Erina’s marriage with a wealthy man. He would be so crushed, but of course still be happy for her marriage. If Erina’s happy, so is he.

Basically it’s two step-brothers who never got along very well growing up, but they would slowly learn to respect and tolerate each other.

Things are a little complicated to explain but during the final battle between Jonathan and Dio..They had a collision and for some reason a baby was created. Born? SPAWNED????

This was before Erina had gotten into an arranged marriage. And Jonathan had no choice but to raise Josey with Dio who he spared and gave a second chance.

Of course Speedwagon is there to help support them but still wants Dio in jail.

DIO was walking at night when he heard screaming. When he checked it out he saw a girl that was about to get hunted down by a man. DIO with no hesitation got to the before the girl was harmed.. saving her.

He doesn’t know why he even saved the girl, I guess he was feeling good.

It didn’t take long for him to notice the same birthmark that Jonathan has.. the body he is using..
