"Hey, we should, uh, go for a beer sometime." He gives the teen a stupid grin.
*blushes* I um o-okay.
(and then Blaze brings Kade back to his place [eyebrow wiggle] and just as they're gettin close Torn walks in and there's a lot of crying and Blaze feels uncomfortable)
Oh Precursors, why?
Can you ever choose between dating Torn or dating Kade? ;)
Hah!! Torn’s too old for me ;D
*blushes and hides his face behind his hands*
So what was it like growing up with Torn? Did he ever give you wedgies? And was he always this grumpy?
*laughs* Torn was born with angry eyebrows and I bet that's why he shaved them off. Sadly I did get the occasional wedgie but that's just what big brothers do. Honestly, he was the best. He always let me tag along with him and Erol even though I was much younger. Whenever I got picked on he'd kick the shit out of all the bullies. Our mom always used to chastise him but we could always see her trying not to smile. He was the best brother I could have asked for, grumpiness and all.
Weimar: Howdy Kade ! How you doing pardner ?
Kade shrugged. "I'm alright. How 'bout you, Weimar?"
Do I know you?
Kade shrugged. “I have my reasons. Mostly because it’s where I thought I was supposed to be. Why do you ask?” He smiled a little, lip twitching up playfully at the corner.
“Change of mind lately?” Blaze didn’t bother tucking the obvious use of past tense away. Maybe he was one of the guards that were just stuck in the force and did what they could to help the cause.
“I’m asking cuz not everyone in that suit is as happy to meet me as you are.” He pointed out, though his grin remained.
"A bit personal for just having met me, don't you think?" But Kade answered nonetheless. Although he chose his words carefully. "Everyone has...doubts. But I can't really afford to have doubts. I have to do what I think..." He sighed. "Never mind." He smiled, laughing a little to try and shake it off.
"What do you do?"
Do I know you?
Kade noticed the slight hesitation as Blaze mentioned his mother and knew that was a topic he best avoid.
“Yeah I do. I mean it would look terrible on me, but you? You pull it off well.” He smiled.
He wondered at why this guy was even still talking to him. Most ex-KG would have been off running the second a Guard approached them. He was either stupid or he had balls. He gave him the benefit of the doubt and opted for the second one.
“Hey, thanks, man.” Other than Echo’s curiosity, people generally didn’t mention his hair unless they wanted to mock him for the obvious appearance. Even if this guy was a KG, he was pretty damn chill… and he liked his hair!
“You’re cool. I like you.” He slapped Kade’s shoulder amicably then gestured towards the uniform.
“So why the yakow-ball-sucking getup?” There was very little hostility behind the question but, as cute as the guy was, he was still KG and a highly ranked one at that.
Kade shrugged. "I have my reasons. Mostly because it's where I thought I was supposed to be. Why do you ask?" He smiled a little, lip twitching up playfully at the corner.
“They can definitely be dicks I’ll agree to that. And well yeah I guess I did work my ass off. But it’s in my blood so,” Kade shrugged, smiling slightly as if to say ‘what can ya do?’.
“But tell me, do you like working here? I mean people can be assholes from what I’ve seen.”
Tess shrugged, though she smiled faintly as she glanced over her shoulder at the sign of the Hip Hog Heaven, a few feet away.

"I'll take that as a compliment I guess," Kade laughed awkwardly.
He was surprised by her next question though. It was true he wasn't in the greatest mood but he wasn't aware it had shown through. Based on what kind of people she said came into the bar he guessed she had a lot of experience with them and could spot one a mile away.
It made him uneasy. There were whispers that this girl wasn't who she seemed. And while she came off as bubbly, that she had an ulterior motive working in this place. A motive possibly concerning the Underground. Everyone knew Krew had the most connections in the city. And anyone who wanted to overthrow the government would definitely want to get close to him. But he kept his mouth shut about that.
"It's just the job, ya know?" He smiled, a very convincing smile at that. "Speaking of the job, I'm supposed to be on patrol so I better head off." He waved goodbye and as soon as he turned his back his brow creased.
Do I know you?
“And what cause would that be? Watching my fellow Guards get pranked by a punk with cool hair?” Kade smirked a little to let him know he was joking.
Blaze was concerned when Kade questioned what the cause might be, then a delayed grin crossed his face.
“Yeah, I guess in layman’s terms. You like my hair?” He brushed his fingers over the point of his short mohawk. “My mom never liked it, but…” He shook his head, still grinning as he chose to avoid the fact he hadn’t seen his mother since the morning of the battle for Dead Town.

Prompts or asks welcome :)
Kade nodded, still smiling a little. “Eighteen.”
Tess wasn’t much older, but that was still a bit of a surprise. She had guessed Kade was a teenager, later teens, and it was impressive all the same. Even if he’d gone through boot camp-style training one or two years ago, he’d clearly proven himself to get even that position.
“Wow! You’ve really been working your butt off!” Tess said, “I’ve known a lot of guys who get into the KG so they can settle back and not worry about money any more. Hard work, but better than the mines, for one. Although more than a few start to act like they own the place… but you seem pretty cool.”
"They can definitely be dicks I'll agree to that. And well yeah I guess I did work my ass off. But it's in my blood so," Kade shrugged, smiling slightly as if to say 'what can ya do?'.
"But tell me, do you like working here? I mean people can be assholes from what I've seen."

Kade could tell that this kid still felt wary of him. Being an ex-KG he could understand it. If you came across the wrong Guard you’d likely end up in prison or even dead.
“Kade,” he held out his hand for the other to shake.
Blaze didn’t recognize the name and he looked at Kade’s hand before warily shaking it, prepared to jerk back if he planned to cuff him.
“Blaze.” He responded, his heart rate calming as Kade made no moves towards him. “You, uh… for the cause, then?” He tried to speak discreetly while taking his hands back and setting them on his hips.
"And what cause would that be? Watching my fellow Guards get pranked by a punk with cool hair?" Kade smirked a little to let him know he was joking.
What's the men's shower room like in the KG fortress? I've seen... unofficial videos. :3
Uh...a little too small for comfort.
Do I know you?
“Well considering those guys are all dicks I guess to say thank you. I mean besides the fact that I’m going to be smelling them all night I think it will be worth it to see their reactions.”

Blaze let a grin cross his face momentarily and he nodded a little. This was so weird, the guy couldn’t be this young and so relaxed, all the teens to early twenty year olds in the force tended to be trigger-happy and abusive of their power.
“Who are you exactly?” Maybe it was a friend from his days as #156 or even school who recognized him.
Kade could tell that this kid still felt wary of him. Being an ex-KG he could understand it. If you came across the wrong Guard you'd likely end up in prison or even dead.
"Kade," he held out his hand for the other to shake.
maiaofwoe started following kg-kade
Umm..can I help you?
“Perhaps you could…” Maia looked the young KG up and down. “But would you be willing to help me?” Doubt shone on her face as if she didn’t trust in the KG like they wanted.
"Uhhh..." Kade hesitated, but considering he was supposed to the police around here he nodded. "It depends on what it is but I can try my best."
“Uhh Corporal actually. Unlike a Captain, I’m second-in-command of my squad.” Aaaand he was rambling now.
Kade shut his mouth and addressed the other part of her statement. “And as to getting all the ladies that would have to be a no as well. I’m really painting a great picture of myself, aren’t I?” He laughed nervously.
Tess shrugged, but continued to smile. She didn’t mind the awkwardness. There were far worse ramblings going on in the bar when the patrons had too much to drink and decided to let it all hang out, metaphorically.
“Well, we can’t have it all, huh?” Tess said, “Sounds to me like you just need more confidence though. At least you’ve done pretty well for yourself in the guard, considering you seem kind of young?”
Kade nodded, still smiling a little. "Eighteen."
Well you are um..very beautiful so I can see why they stay. *smiles nervously*
Tess grinned and turned her head slightly as she waved away the compliment. “Oooh, you’re too sweet!” she said, “I bet you get all the ladies swooning! Especially with that uniform. Are you a captain or…? Sorry, I don’t remember most of the ranks, but I sort of know them when I see them.”
