The idea that either one of them now knew for certain that he had stolen it – and even worse, for what reason – made Fergus close his eyes and groan. Which the two girls instantly mistook for confirmation he was teetering on the edge of death. - OR - Convinced their big brother may be on the cusp of death, Faith and Brianna take it upon themselves to care for Fergus in his time of need. Intense (well intended but completely unnecessary) coddling ensues.
