CHAPTER 7 - Coffee(by Miguel)
You woke up the moment you felt the warm sheets you were laying on. That was strange. You didn't remember being woken up, entering your house, showering, changing into your pajamas and going to sleep. Looking around your surroundings, you frowned in confusion. Your clothes from last night were still on, which made you even more confused. You never sat on your bed with outside clothes. It was gross. Who knew what they touched? How many germs you collected from the chairs you sat on or the walls you leaned on.
Mind now slightly less foggy than before, you looked around and realize you were, indeed, not at home. You sat up, hand on your hips, right leg bouncing, staring into nothingness. That's how Leon found you anyway. You didn't even notice when he came in, so you startled the moment he touched your shoulder to get your attention.
"You alright? Why are you so confused" He asked.
You looked up at him and asked directly. "Where are we? Everything okay?"
He frowned and nodded his head, sitting on the edge of your bed while holding a plastic bag. "Of course, everything's all right. You fell asleep after the mission and I- we encountered an accident on the road and instead of staying in traffic for God knows how many hours, I decided it'd be better if we rested in a motel. Luckily, there was one right around the corner, so here we are. I tried to wake you up so you could walk by yourself, but you were too tired, so I just carried you." He shrugged simply.
"I thought something bad happened."
"Not to us. I'm an amazing driver." You raised an eyebrow, not believing him.
"I've heard otherwise." You sat down next to him and he handed you the bag he was holding. Looking inside, you found some granola bars and bottles of water.
"There's a vending machine downstairs. I didn't know what you liked, but since you were in the army for so long, granola bars seemed a good option."He shrugged and you smiled.
"They were the only option, actually." You handed him a bar and opened the other, taking a bite. "During missions, that's what we mostly ate. My grandma would make them at home and she would add chocolate or strawberries and make them taste better, but most of them were given to us by the army. They were stale, but they did their job." You shrugged simply and crumpled the plastic that covered the granola, throwing it in the trash on the other side of the room. It landed perfectly inside.
"I thought you had rations?" He asked and finished it too, throwing it straight into the bin.
"We did, but would eat it really fast. Most of the times we were told we would be in a two day mission, so we didn't think to keep more food aside. And then that two-day mission turned into a two-week mission, and all we had left were granola bars."
"Couldn't they send you more?"
You shook your head. "We were undercover, and, oftentimes, on a different continent. Nobody knew we were on a mission, so we couldn't exactly go anywhere and ask to be given rations. Going to restaurants or fast foods was considered a distraction, so we weren't allowed to do that either. And it would have been a waste of time anyway. But it's a good thing I was trained to survive days without much food. I managed to ignore most of the cramps and all that stuff. My colleagues, on the other hand..." You trailed off and got up, looking down at him. "Let's get some coffee, I have a feeling I'll need it."
You and Leon walked down the creaky stairs of the motel, clearly old and in need for renovation. He gestured where the vending machine and the coffee maker were and you followed his instructions. He held open the door for you to walk into what was supposed to be a small lobby with a microwave, a fridge, a stove and the vending and coffee machines. You stood in front of the snacks, staring intently at the bags of chips. There weren't many options or flavors, but anything would do. You could feel your stomach rumbling, asking for food.Of course, chips weren't considered food, but it was better than nothing, nonetheless.
"How does this thing work." You mumbled, confused at how you would get anything out of it. "I swear, if it took my money and I'm not getting my chips-" Leon's hand reached towards a certain button that he pressed -a bit harder than you normally would press a button- and there it was! The bag of chips you paid for fell. You reached for it and turned to him with a smile. He was holding two cups of coffee and nodded with a small smile, nodding his head towards the sliding doors that lead outside.
The two of you took a seat at a table for two that was placed right next to the room you came out of. Opening the bag of chips, the smell of chemicals hit your nose. Grimacing, you reached for one chip and, tasting it, your face contorted in a expression akin to disgust. Leon chuckled when he saw it, and you took a gulp of the coffee, not caring about the hotness of it.
"Oh, this tastes like piss. Jesus, this is terrible. The chips are so stale and old and almost...sour? This is not how normal chips taste like. And the coffee. Don't even get me started. God!" Leon handed you your bottle of water, the one he bought for you a few minutes ago, and you drank the remaining water, wanting to get rid of the taste of bad coffee and stale chips from your mouth.
"Don't worry, we'll get in the car and stop at a gas station on the way back, buy some chips that are not as old as these ones, hopefully." He joked and you pressed your lips together.
"I don't think anything could taste as terrible as these." You eyed the coffee and chips on the table in front of you and he chuckled, taking one more sip of his coffee. "You like that?" You eyed the cup in his hand suspiciously, a grimace on your face.
"Hell no, it's terrible. But I'll take any coffee I can get."
"Speaking of, where did you sleep last night? There was only one bed? Please tell me you booked another room and slept on a proper bed and not on that rusty armchair from the room." You pleaded and by the look on his face, he confirmed your fear.
"I actually didn't sleep much. It comes with the job, you know?" He tried to reassure, but realized it sounded even worse, so he just pressed his lips together and looked to the side when you looked at him pointedly.
"I know you hate to hear this, but sleep is very important. Did you know that if you stay 19 hours without sleep, your brain is in the same state as if you were drunk? And given that you 'didn't sleep much', I assume your brain is in an alcoholic coma." He snorted at that and nodded.
"Won't argue with you on this one. It surely feels like it is, anyway." Leon said and drank the last bit of his coffee, then stood up. "If you're done with the chips, let's go and get some proper food."
Twenty minutes later, Leon parked his Porsche at a gas station and you followed after him in the store, looking around the aisles for dried fruits. They were a sweet, healthy snack that you enjoyed. Not really allowed to eat many sweets, not even as a child, you basically grew up with those things.
You smiled when you found a mix of dried strawberries, bananas, berries, pineapple and nuts. You went to the cashier to pay, handing them the bag. As you reached for your card, Leon's arm reached in front of you and he pressed his card to pay.
"Hey!"
"And these coffees." He said to the cashier, lifting the support that held two coffees. He looked down at you, grinning at your protests. "No 'hey's' or 'but's'. It's the company's money, so don't feel bad." He whispered and you took your bag of dried fruits, following him back to the car.
"I have the same card, Kennedy. And I can buy my own coffee and snacks."
"Never said you couldn't. You know, a thanks would have been enough. But thanks for the funfact." He winked and opened the car door for you, holding the cardboard support with the coffees in one hand while holding the door open with the other.

CHAPTER 6 - No one like you(by Scorpions)
The moment you entered the facility, a sterile smell hit your nose. The blinding white lights made you squint, not adjusted to such brightness after coming from the darkness of night. Leon drew his gun, loading it, keeping it low but ready to shoot. You did the same, eyes looking around, analyzing your surroundings carefully. The place was empty. Too empty for such an important medical facility that was supposed to work hard day and night to ensure the population good quality medication.
"It's like they were expecting us. We got in pretty easy too." You commented, remembering how easily Leon opened the back doors. No code, no verification. Just the press of a simple button and you had access inside the building. No guards patrolling the grounds, only a few cameras placed at weird angles... It was weird, which only made you more wary. "What are the chances of coming face to face with infected?" You asked, glancing at Leon.
"I'll say maybe 90%? We already encountered a few on the way here, so I wouldn't be surprised if they already started a new breakout, like they intended to. Stay focused." He warned and you nodded curtly, eyes filled with determination.
You took in your surroundings. Long hallways that seemed to go everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Automated sliding doors and floor to ceiling glass walls that allowed you to peer inside rooms. From what you could see as you passed by, most of them were research labs, filled with desks, papers and medical equipment you didn't know the name of.
You walked ahead, going through what you assumed were the main entrances, until they finally lead you to the center of the facility. All of the doors that lead to other offices and labs were connected. You realized you were standing on a sort of circular platform. Going to the metal railing, you held onto it as you leaned to look down, counting about 5 more floors underground. All of them exact replicas of the one you were on. When you looked up, you saw two more floors. So you had seven more floors-not counting the one you were on- and seven minutes left to find that self-destruct button.
You looked around, eyes squinted, mind running with possibilities. It could be anywhere, and since Leon mentioned that Umbrella didn't have a designated spot where the button was always placed, it could be anywhere.
"Wanna call off the bet, L/n? You look lost." Leon commented with a cocky grin. You side-eyed him and shook your hand, hands on your hips, right leg bouncing, the sound of the hard heel of your shoe hitting the polished white floors echoing in the strangely empty facility.
From your experience, those companies were sleek. They wouldn't hide it in plain sight, because they wouldn't want anyone to have access to it. They trusted their workers, but not that much. Anyone could press it and they wouldn't risk it.
It was clearly in a place where only the most important and trusted superiors had access. A clearly restricted area. With many passwords, guards and cameras. The question was if it was on the top or lower floors. Logically, it needed to be close to an emergency exit. If it was underground, it could have been a bunker that lead outside. If it was in the upper floors, it was definitely on the roof, where an helicopter was easy to call.
You turned to Leon so fast, he startled. "Do you have a map layout of the surroundings?" He shook his head, confused. You pressed the button on your earpiece that connected you to Sherry, your and Leon's intel support. She was assigned to your team the moment you moved in the office. You knew that Hunnigan used to be Leon's mission coordinator, and you still wondered why she didn't remain in that position after you came. Nobody really understood Reynolds, so you didn't bother to ask. Plus, you and Sherry get along well, so you were sure you would have a successful cooperation.
"Sherry, do you have a layout of the surrounding area? I need a satellite map, please." You heard the woman chuckle.
"So polite. I sent it to you on the tactical tablet." She said and Leon opened the small tablet given to you by the DSO, the one where you got sent documents, images and messages related to the missions. It was a thin device, small and practical, and Leon carried it in the internal pocket of his bulletproof vest.
You approached your colleague, standing next to him, craning your neck to see the image. Leon turned it towards you so you could see it properly and you glanced up at him with a smile, then looked back, analyzing everything.
"What are you even looking for? I think it would have been more efficient if we would have asked for a layout of the building, not what surrounded it." Leon asked, genuinely confused at your request. How would this even help your case? You were in the middle of a field, surrounded by grass and grasshoppers. Nothing else.
"A bunker." You mumbled and he became even more confused.
"A bunker? What are you-"
"Think about it." You started, not looking up at him, zooming in and out on the map. "The self-destruct button needs to be near an emergency exit, but it can't be accessible to everyone. You need a place to escape in case it goes off, one only the most important people know of. In our case, it's either a door or elevator that leads to the rooftop or a bunker that leads to-" A smiled spread on your face as you zoomed in on a particular brown square on the map, then looked up at the man standing next to you. You could see the moment he realized what you were saying. His eyes widened, mouth slightly agape. "There it is. The button is somewhere in the underground."
You heard Sherry laugh in the comms. "She's quick and smart. I like her."
"But how do you know exactly which floor it is on? There are five floors that we will have to search thoroughly to find it."
You walked back to the railing, eyes narrowing. Leon followed you, confused as ever. "That button needs to be put in a place that is easily accessible. Meaning, there has to be a floor that is used more often than most, so in case something goes out of control, they would be able to reach it fast."
"Okay. And how do we know which floor is the most used one?" Leon asked, following you as you began to walk ahead. You drew your gun and positioned in such a way that it would shoot straight in the ceiling parallel to where you were staying. You pulled the trigger, the sound of the gunshot echoing loudly across the whole facility. "What are you doing? If there are any infected here, we have given us away-" He whispered, panic overtaking him.
You walked back to the railing, looking around carefully. "Look." You pointed to where infected began to appear. Some weirder looking ones even managed to crawl on the walls, skinless beings walking on all fours that had long, sharp tongues sticking out of their mouths.
"Lickers. Great." Leon whispered. "They are sensitive to sound." He said and you nodded, telling yourself to be aware with your steps.
"Tell me, partner, what do you observe?" You asked and he looked at you, as confused as one could be. He didn't understand where you were going with this and, with the zombies now approaching, your location given away, he wasn't in the mood for guessing games.
"That we will become infected food if we don't start moving." He said plainly and you snorted. You began to walk and he followed.
"They all come from the lowest floor. The fifth one. And if you look closely, despite the layout being very similar on every level, the lower ones are slightly different. The doors are farther apart, meaning the rooms are larger. Why would you need an office so large unless you were planning on putting together or depositing experiments? The lower floors are labs. And who in their right minds would put the self-destruct button there? What if an infected accidentally presses it? It wouldn't end well for anyone."
"Go on." Leon said as you pressed the button to the elevator, waiting for it to come up from the fourth floor.
"The two floors below us are an exact replica of this one. Same door placement, the corridors are the same size. They are clearly offices, just like the ones we passed by on this floor." The elevator doors opened and you and your partner stepped in. You pressed the third floor confidently and Leon looked at you with some sort of admiration in his eyes. "Which leads us to the third floor. It makes sense for the labs and admin offices to connect. And what better way to do that than through a whole floor. A floor that's responsible for control."
"How do you know the control floor is not on the first or second floor?" He asked and you shook your head, dismissing the idea.
"You can't take control of a situation if you are not near it, if you don't know how bad it is or where it started from. The closer you are to the labs, the faster you can take action in case something goes wrong. And if the situation is too bad, out of control, you can always just...Blow the place. It would be a pain in the ass for them to have to go to the upper floors when dangerous experiments are roaming around ready to kill." The elevator dinged and the doors opened. You wanted to walk ahead, but Leon stopped you with a hand on your shoulder, going out first instead.
His gun was drawn, ready to shot the first zombie that came in sight. You followed closely behind him when he nodded his head, gun drawn as well. You looked around, thinking of where you would place that button if you were a higher up. You squinted your eyes, glancing at every corridor. They all seemed the same length but-
"This side." You said, walking towards the closest corridor. It didn't go as far as the others. You placed your ear to the wall, further confirming your suspicions. You signaled for Leon to do the same. The confused man complied, not bothering to ask anymore, just waiting for your explanation instead. "There's a low hum coming from this side." You gestured to the area you were in. "And the doors-" You stepped in front of an automatic sliding door and it opened. "-They are reinforced doors. Made from a thicker, heavier material that I don't know the name of."
You entered the room, and indeed, it was larger than the ones on the first floor. Leon looked around, noticing control pannels, dozens of computers, all open, all showing a different angle of the facility. He noticed how many buttons were there, the amount of wires on the ceiling. It was the power and control room.
He watched as you touched the walls, trying to find a secret passage, something... And then your eyes landed on the drawing on the wall. It was a drawing made by a child, the jagged lines depicting a happy family of four. It was the only decoration on the wall, so of course it made you stop.
You took it off the wall carefully and a smile spread across your face. There it was: the self-destruct button, placed behind a small door of glass, inside the wall.
"Exactly nine minutes and fifty seconds. Guess I owe you dinner, L/n." Leon said with a fond smile, pulling the sleeve of his dark blue shirt back over his expensive watch and looking back at you, not hiding his impressed gaze anymore.
"Told you I would find it." You said with a proud smile and took a letter opener from a desk nearby and threw it towards the glass door. It shattered without much force and you looked at Leon, who nodded in confirmation. You pressed the button and in the next second, a robotic voice was heard in the whole building, talking over the blaring sound of an alarm.
"All of the staff is asked to evacuate the building. Do not panic and evacuate the building calmly. Self-destruct has been activated."
"This is our cue." You said and looked around. A door the same color as the wall opened, showing a tunnel that led underground. You glanced at your partner and smiled, going ahead at a rapid pace, wanting to be out by the time the facility exploded.
The tunnel was quite large and lit up with the same lights as the ones in the facility. You didn't expect anything else, to be honest. It was Umbrella, after all. From all the stories you've heard about them, they loved being eccentric.
"We completed the mission, Sherry. Heading back to the car now." Leon announced through his comm and you heard Sherry hum,
"You did a good job. I must admit, I am impressed, Y/n. You are very observant." The woman praised and you smiled.
"Thanks, Sherry. Spending a lifetime with my dad kinda helped." You said simply and she chuckled.
"Made you an amazing agent, you know? After reading the report of the mission, I'm sure Reynolds will be sending you in as many places as he can."
You groaned at the word. "Report? Don't tell me I have to write another report? I swear I can't escape them even here." You heard Leon chuckle deeply behind you and turned to glare at him.
"Let's make a deal. Whoever takes out more zombies will be free of this burden. It's obvious who will be writing the report for this mission, so you don't have to worry about it." Your partner said and you nodded.
"Deal, Kennedy. You will begin to hate those reports as much as I do, trust me." You announced, challenge in your tone, and he smiled.
"Right. We'll see, L/n."
"You two are beginning to make a lot of deals. Is that your way of bonding?" Sherry asked, invested in this...banter? Whatever you two have developed in the day and a half you have known each other.
"You can say that. I must admit, it makes the mission more interesting." You said and Leon approved with a hum.
Finally arriving to the door, you pushed it open easily, despite how heavy it was. Leon didn't even have time to touch it properly and you already opened it.
"Alright, wonder woman. Another skill I didn't know you possessed?" He raised an eyebrow as you walked outside, towards the car that was parked by the side of the road.
"Oh, you haven't seen half of them, Kennedy. Trust me, you'll be surprised." You winked and he grinned.
"Will I? I'm curious now." He mumbled as you reached the car. He ran in front of you, opening the door for you and closing it the moment you got inside.
He got in too, put his seatbelt and started the engine. Just as you pulled out and drove off, a loud explosion was heard, shaking the ground from the impact. You looked through the side view mirror and saw how the building lit up on fire, hopefully every creature gone.
Sighing in relief, you finally allowed your body to relax. You slumped in your seat, eyelids becoming heavier as the seconds passed, the soft rocking from the drive and 90s RnB music lulling you to sleep.

CHAPTER 5 - Kills(by Chief Keef)
"Just die already, bitch!" You said through gritted teeth, bullet going straight through the zombie's head for the third time. As the gunshot echoed loudly into the night, you lowered your hand, the creature falling dead at your feet.
The sound of clapping coming from behind you made you turn your head slightly. Leon was leaning on the hood of his car, hands crossed to his chest, brown leather jacket stretched tight across his arms. He had an amused look on his face, a proud smile on his lips. "That was amazing, L/n." He praised, staring at you. His eyes traveled along your body, at the way your burgundy compression tshirt fitted your body, noticing, with surprise and wonder, that you had no blood along your clothes. His eyes looked around, taking in the piles of dead zombies surrounding you. For your first day, you were doing an amazing job. Almost too professional for this to be your first mission.
The moment Leon spotted the first zombie in front of the car, he wanted to go out and kill it. But you were faster. Taking the first object you came across, you sprinted out of the car, steps as quiet as an assassin's. He watched the way you moved swiftly, evading the zombie's attacks with elegance and calculation. As quiet as you attempted to be, the hisses and sounds of the zombie attracted other infected. Soon, three more appeared in sight, limping towards you.
He saw how you killed the creature, so fast and unflinching. Your moves, the way your limbs coordinated, effortlessly striking the attackers, it made him rooted to his seat. You seemed to have this under control. He was ready to bolt out at any time, but by the way you handled the situation, his intervention would have probably ruined your performance.
The more zombies came, the more powerful your strikes became. As your weapon caught in the moonlight, his eyes widened. He didn't notice it before, didn't have enough time to process what you grabbed from the car, but now he knew. You were killing those zombies with the screwdriver he had laying around in his car, the one he had forgotten there a few days ago when he was fixing something around the house. It was his favorite screwdriver out of the set Chris had gotten on his birthday a few years ago, so when he seemingly lost it some weeks ago, he wouldn't admit it, but he felt sad. But now he found it. It was covered in infected blood, but it was there. He was scared you would break it, but as he glanced out the window once more and saw how you moved, he calmed down slightly.
He watched as you drove that screwdriver in the zombie's eyes, up their throat, straight through their temples. As you killed one, you managed to defend yourself from the others. If he had to guess, around you were about 10 infected. And with whoever many you took down and were now lying on the ground... He had to guess there were about 30 infected.
Five minutes later, all of them were taken care of, and you returned to Leon, throwing the tool in his direction. He caught it deftly and smiled, then walked back to the driver's seat, put his seatbelt on and started the engine again.
"You could have used the screwdriver till the end." Leon said and chuckled when you looked at him with raised eyebrows.
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah...Might have attracted unwanted attention." His shoulders shook with the intent of holding back laughter. In truth, he didn't mind the fact that you used a gun towards the end. The zombies were already getting way too close to you for comfort, and it was hard to keep them all in check while having to continuously strike them with a sharp tool. He took the gun that you left on your seat before you got out of the car and called out to you, attracting your attention and throwing you the weapon. You caught it and began to shoot, headshot after headshot, but the fuckers wouldn't go down so easily. You tried your hardest to be quiet, but there was so much you could do.
"Did you have your fun?" He asked as he began to drive towards Pittsburgh again. It was 10 minutes away or so, but he knew since the infected have spread so far, it wouldn't be long before you had to stop again and take them down. Especially given all the loudness you made earlier.
"Oh yes. I missed action. Like...Real action. Didn't have such a rush of adrenaline in a long time." You said with a content smile on your face.
"You did really well out there. If I didn't know any better, I would say you were a professional in counter-bioterrorism. And you also managed not to get any blood on you. That's more impressive than the fact that you managed to take down over 30 infected, all by yourself, with a mere screwdriver." He praised. He knew it sounded like words of encouragement, to get you motivated, but he truly meant what he said.
Not many things -or people- managed to impress Leon lately. So of course he would keep voicing his thoughts when someone like you, with your skills and background, came around and did everything so perfectly.
"Well, thank you, partner. Although I could have used a little help, I understand why you didn't join. You wanted to see me fight. If I could handle it, didn't you?" He smiled but didn't answer, although that gesture was enough confirmation for you.
Sighing, Leon ran a hand through his blonde hair, the soft strands falling back in place as he put his hand back on the gear. "You might think you are prepared for the facility. And I have no doubt, in a way, you are. But beware of the traps. Some Umbrella facilities are very tough on unauthorized intruders." He warned and you nodded.
"Roger that."
It wasn't long before Leon pulled up near the facility, a building with no windows extended on a field, walls a light grey color. It looked so sterile, so clinical.
"This looks scary." You said as Leon opened the door on your side for you to get out. You've quickly learned he was a gentleman and, enjoying such treatment, you didn't try too hard to deny his gestures. They were small, almost imperceptible and insignificant to the naked eye, but you, too self aware for your good, noticed every one of them. A hand hovering above the small of your back when he was guiding you around, opening and holding doors, offering to pick you up, steadying you... It felt...nice. Really nice.
"It looks very medical. It's uncomfortable." He completed, understanding how you felt. Just because he succeeded in keeping a straight, controlled face and a relaxed body language, that didn't mean he didn't feel weird. Umbrella always creeped him out.
"What if we come across humans? Do we shoot them too? If we do, it'll have to be fatal. We don't have any masks, so they'll be able to recognize us." You said and Leon simply shook his head.
"They are probably not present. Reynolds doesn't want human casualties. All we have to do is destroy this place. But in the case we do come across people, then shoot to immobilize, not kill. If they manage to escape once the destruction is completed, it's their luck." He explained and you nodded.
"So are we going to plant bombs or pour gasoline from a helicopter and then light it up on fire? Or-"
"Self-destruction." Leon cut in, looking at you with a smile.
"Huh?" You frowned.
"They didn't teach you that in the military? Weird. Well, a self-destruct button is-"
"I know what that is. It's just that I didn't expect Umbrella to be able to get rid of their work so easily." You said with a frown and he chuckled.
"In theory, it is easy. You just press a button and boom! it's over. But Umbrella wouldn't be Umbrella if they didn't hide said button in the darkest depths of the laboratory. And given that it's a large facility, with probably a dozen floors, we will have to search for some time." Leon said and you looked at him with a raised eyebrow and cocky grin.
"I bet I could guess where it is in 20- no, 10 minutes." He looked at you incredulously, not thinking it possible. Who would even think it would be possible, anyway? If Leon, with his years of experience couldn't pin point where it was from(since Umbrella always has a different location for the self-destruct button for every new facility), how would you be able to do it? You were surely bluffing.
"Okay, that's generous. Well, if you find where it is in less than 10 minutes from the moment we enter the building, I'll buy you dinner once we return to DC." He offered and you smiled.

CHAPTER 4 - I'll be there(by The Jackson 5)
The drive to Pittsburgh was filled with idle conversation and old rock music that played in the background. Leon answered all of your questions calmly, a small, soft smile playing on his lips when you gasped dramatically at something he said. You, on the other hand, answered all of his questions with excitement, so eager to tell him about your adventures from your army days, because boy, you had a lot to tell. Leon noticed the way your eyes dilated when you talked about action and mission, how you got lost in thought and how you tried to hold yourself back from sounding too childish, trying to act composed. He could see all of it, and all it did was make him happy that you still managed to find joy in such things.
He almost saw himself in you, the younger, more innocent version of him. The eager-to-help cop that would try to save everyone. The foolish boy that would have gotten himself killed if it meant saving someone else. That didn't mean that he saw you like an exact replica of his younger self. Oh no. He knew if he got the chance to meet you years ago, when he was around your age, you would have terrified him. You didn't give him the feeling of recklessly giving up your life for someone else. It sounded cold, but beneath that excited, talkative exterior he had gotten used to over the past three hours and counting, he remembered your encounter this morning. The way you fought, so calculated and careful. The way your eyes roamed, assessing for any threats efficiently. The way you kicked and punched him with so much force, he still felt aches in some spots hours later. No, younger him would have scared him as much as it would have intrigued him. Hell, you intrigued him even now, at his big age.
"What's your favorite weapon?" You asked, glancing at him and then looking back at the road. Your relationship with Leon was now so normal, it felt almost familiar. As if you have known each other for decades, not hours. You loved asking questions and learning his take on things, or simply listening to him talk. He had this calming energy about him that simply relaxed you too. Although you knew he was anything but relaxed. The closer you were to Pittsburgh, the tenser his shoulders became. And the more nervous he became, the more you made it your mission to have him calm down. You were sure he had no problem handling the mission by himself, but, from what you've learned, he wasn't used to having a partner, so you had no idea how he would react with you around when the action started and you had to shoot zombies and defend yourselves.
"I prefer handguns. They are easier to hold. But marksmans aren't too bad either. More damage, although I can't move as well as I do with a gun."
"You a show off?" You asked teasingly, a smile on your lips, and he gave you a smug grin in return. "No way! You actually are." You gasped dramatically and he laughed, a low, velvety sound. "Let me guess your favorite move." You squinted your eyes as if that would help you get a better read on him. He looked into your eyes, an eyebrow raised teasingly. "Backflips." You laughed at the evident shock on his face, the man not able to hide it fast enough without you noticing. "Oh my god, I actually got it right."
"Of course you did. You are pretty good at reading people, might I say." He praised and you smiled shyly, mumbling a quiet 'thanks'. He smiled teasingly at the evident embarrassment, but didn't comment on it, like the gentleman he was.
Recovering from your shyness, you stared ahead in silence, thinking of new questions to ask. You hummed along the song playing on the radio, Hide your heart by KISS filling the silence of the car. Without realizing it, you thrummed your fingers on your knee, following the rhythm of the bass. At the same time, Leon, now allowing worrying thoughts to enter his mind, did the same thing. His fingers tapped the steering wheel in tune with the drums as he looked ahead in concentration, thinking of all the ways the mission could go wrong.
It was kind of a ritual of his that he had developed over the years. He would allow himself 5 minutes where he was free to think up every bad scenario on the way to the mission. The premature worrying prevented him from having stressing thoughts pop up in his mind during the mission and ruining everything.
"How do you cope with everything?" You asked him after a while, breaking him away from his thoughts.
"I don't have a treatment for that. I just... Push it to the back of my head." He shrugged simply and you frowned.
"Doesn't bottling it up make it...worse?" You asked, somewhat hesitantly.
Leon nodded softly, meeting your eyes for a few seconds and then focusing them back on the road. "It does. It makes the nightmares more terrifying. But I can't allow them to take over my mind. I know they'll eat me alive if I let those thoughts creep into my mind, I'll not be able to handle it." He explained, voice sincere, almost raw with vulnerability. You gulped at the confession, not knowing how to respond. Dealing with so much death, so often and for so long was not something many could handle. His composure was admirable, albeit you were sure he had other ways to cope with his thoughts than just ignoring them.
You didn't have his years of work, as you were way younger than him and with much less experience, but you knew this way of 'coping' wasn't healthy. "Look, if it ever gets too much...You can always talk about it. I know it might sound weird since you barely know me and all, but sometimes talking to a stranger might feel better than talking to someone you know." You said simply, although your heart was beating in nervousness. It all faded away the moment you glanced at him and saw his smile. You would have missed it if it weren't for your anxiousness at his reaction that made your observation skills much more heightened.
"Thanks, Y/n. That'll be nice." He said. In truth, he did see it as a nice gesture. Not many people wanted to just...listen to him talk. Most of the people he met were only interested in his achievements, always asking about his techniques and praising him, but they never bothered to ask if he was alright. To hear that he had someone he could share even a sliver of his worries with, someone that will listen and, why not, even understand, made him feel happier. "If you ever have anything that bothers you, feel free to talk to me about it too. It's only fair I repay your kind service of listening to my boring rant with a similar gesture."
He meant it. Truly. It wasn't just the idea of doing the same thing because he felt indebted but more so the desire to get to know you better. Everything he knew about you was things he had heard from other people, as well as some slight information about your upbringing and things he could observe by himself. But that wasn't enough to fully get to know someone. And since you were about to be his partner until, probably, his retirement, a certain type of relationship needed to be built. He knew it would take time, but he was open to try, although, when he thought about it more, he knew he might regret it. Getting to know you would surely make him fond of you, which couldn't bode well in the context of his job. You were killing zombies, for fucks sake! Anything could go wrong at any time. He had lost many people that he cared for, he didn't wants the list of names to become bigger.
"I'll take note of that, partner." You winked and he chuckled, but the laugh caught in his throat the moment the headlights caught onto a hunched, deformed silhouette in the dark. He hit the breaks aggressively, his arm reaching out towards you to stop you from hitting your body from the sudden stop.
When the creature hissed loudly, turning it's face towards the car, you gasped. It looked terrifying, with gray skin, large lumps that were on the verge of popping and deformed features. You manage to compose yourself in time, drawing out the gun from your hostler, action which Leon shook his head at. You put the weapon back and nodded. "Right. The sound might attract other zombies from the vicinity."
Leon nodded approvingly and said in a sort of sarcastic tone."Well, it looks like our mission started earlier than planned. Welcome to the real DSO, Y/n. You are going to have a hell of a first day."

CHAPTER 3 - Carry out(by Timbaland and Just Timberlake)
"We have found a facility running questionable experiments in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and we have reason to believe it's Umbrella planning another outbreak." Reynolds announced to you and Leon. You were sat on a chair while your partner sat behind you, hands crossed across his chest, a thoughtful look on his face. "You are to leave for Pennsylvania tonight and destroy the place and anything that is inside it. Agent L/n, this will be your first mission. You do your best and return safe and sound. I don't want to be the one to deliver bad news to your father."
He said jokingly, but you knew he was terrified of your dad. In truth, everyone was. Even you, to some extent. He didn't get such a high rank through funny dad jokes and kindness.
"I'll try my hardest to not end up shot in the head due to a zombie bite, sir." You said with a straight face and Reynolds nodded curtly, glancing at Leon and addressing him, as if you weren't present in the room at all.
"Take care of her, Agent Kennedy." There was a warning in his voice that you didn't particularly enjoy. What? Now he had doubts about your skills? It's not like the sole reason you accepted his offer to join the DSO was to do exactly this. Of course, he didn't say anything about your skills, but he didn't trust them too much either. With men like him, you learned that even if you showed them, face to face, your skills, they would still try to find the smallest mistake so they won't give full credit over it. Unfortunately, most men in the army and especially the DSO were like this. So, whether you liked it or not, you had to put up with it more often than you'd like to admit.
"I actually don't-"
"I am sure she's capable of taking care of herself, sir." Leon cut you off curtly and when you looked over your shoulder with a frown, he did a gesture that looked very similar to a wink. It was a weird gesture, coming from him, a man that at first looked so stern and, to some extent, terrifying, that you thought your mind was playing tricks on you at first. But when he continued talking to Reynolds, you knew the wink definitely wasn't part of your imagination. "I've heard of her achievements, so I'm sure she'll do well. I'm sure they don''t recruit weak soldiers in the Special Ops."
Reynolds was silent for a moment, but nodded, albeit hesitantly, getting up and leaving through the door, but not before saying one more thing in warning. "If anything happens to her, you'll be the one responsible for breaking the news to her father. And trust me, you don't want to see him angry."
As the door closed behind him, Leon scoffed and sat on the chair next to yours, shoulders slightly more relaxed now that Reynolds wasn't around. He still was tense, and you couldn't blame him for having his guard up around you, basically a stranger, but he seemed slightly more relaxed compared to yesterday.
"Don't worry about Reynolds. He's been like this since I've known him. And I've known this guy for a long time." Leon assured and you smiled, looking at your polished nails.
"Like this what? A way-too-confident man with misogynistic tendencies? Yeah, I could tell from the moment I entered this building three years ago. I was promised field work and all I got were reports instead. Have to thank my parents, because I'm sure if it weren't for their reputation, I would have been stuck in that claustrophobic office for the rest of my life." You said and he hummed.
"He's quite a pain in the ass. But he's good at his job.. That's how I explain his long mandate, anyway." Leon shrugged and you chuckled.
"So... We leave tonight. Any idea how long we'll be away? I need to know how long I'll leave Nala alone."
Leon's eyes widened in surprise at that but he recovered quickly and answered. "Pittsburgh is less than 5 hours away from here. And since we are two, I think we'll be able to handle the experiments quite fast. Might take around 4 to 6 hours to clear out. Knowing Umbrella, they probably have an underground facility where more infected are being held, and we can't exactly drop a bomb over the facility without having human casualties. By my estimations, we'll be back in a day, two at most. Traffic is unpredictable and the mission can go awry at any moment, so..."
You smiled at him and when he noticed your face, he cocked his head to the side with a small frown. "You are very calculating, Kennedy." He looked down at that and you could swear you saw his cheeks redden slightly. Was Leon Kennedy blushing at a mere compliment?
"Just used to it, nothing more." His fingers tapped the surface of the table in a soothing rhythm. "Don't worry about transport, we'll take my car. It'll be easier if we go with only one. To not attract unwanted attention, you know?" He winked and you smiled, nodding.
"Can't disagree, can I? You a good driver?" He grimaced and shrugged.
"Depends on the circumstances." Your eyes widened a bit, a hint of fear in them. Seeing the look on your face, Leon waved his hands and shook his head with a shy smile on his lips. "It's not like that. It's just... During missions, my survival instinct hits and I tend to just... Let's just say the DSO paid a quite big sum of money to mechanics throughout my career."
You laughed nervously. "Well, if it gets to it and we have to run away from a hoard of zombies, I'll be the one to drive."
---
Midnight came pretty fast and you were standing in front of your house, a pack backpack resting on your shoulder, the rucksack containing a first aid kit, water bottles, some granola bars, a lighter and anything else you thought you would need for the mission. As a soldier in the army, you were taught to efficiently pack everything that was necessary in case the mission went to shit.
Leon's Porsche could be seen in the distance as he turned right on your street, his bright headlights making you squint your eyes. You suggested to meet at the DSO building and leave from there to Pittsburgh but Leon, ever the gentleman as you have learned, insisted on coming to pick you up. You didn't even give him the address. Instead, all he did was offer to take you home after your training ended, which you didn't deny, and it seemed like one drive was enough for him to learn where you stayed. It was quite impressive, his visual memory, but then he wouldn't have been such a good DSO agent if it weren't for his skills.
His car stopped right in front of you and he got down hurriedly before you could reach the door to open it. He opened it for you instead, a tight smile on his lips, to which you nodded gratefully and smiled. Thankfully, it was dark outside and the blush on your face wasn't visible.
"You ready, partner? Leon asked as he got in the driver's seat, putting his seatbelt on, one hand on the wheel while the other on the gear. He has a brown leather jacket on, given that it was the middle of April and at night it was still cold, and underneath it he had a black button up, said buttons holding on for dear life so his worked chest won't get exposed. You couldn't help but notice that, the way the shirt fit him so tight but so well. He could have been a model, not an agent. But some just don't have that luck, and he was one of them.
You, on the other hand, were wearing a burgundy compression shirt and black pants, similar to the ones your partner was wearing. Your hair was out of your face so the wind or movement from fighting won't get the strands to stick onto your red lipstick. You hated when that happened, and you tried to avoid it at all costs.
Leon glanced at you with a small, almost comforting smile, eyes softer than they were this morning, before your fighting. Well, looks like you really managed to get into his good graces, with the way he looked at you. Or maybe he was like this to every woman he met, not just with his partner. Mission partner. "Ready as I'll ever be." You said with a smile, heart thumping in excitement.

CHAPTER 2 - Rumour has it(by Adele)
"Since you are going to go on missions pretty often, you will not be required to show up at the office as often as you did before." Sherry explained to you as she showed you around the office on the highest floor. It looked exactly like yours did, the desks just slightly farther apart. Leon followed behind, holding a heavy box filled to the brim with your belongings. He insisted on carrying them for you and you didn't refuse him. You haven't really spoken to him, only introduced yourself and shook hands. He gave you a tight smile after introducing himself, and that was the end of it. You did want to say something, ask about work and training, but Sherry came to you and offered to give you a tour of the highest floor of the DSO building.
"You are free to work from home, just make sure to announce Reynolds or me, so we know you haven't gone M.I.A." She continued and turned her head to give you a smile. You smiled back and nodded curtly in understanding.
"This will be your desk. That one over there is mine." She pointed to the table in front of yours. "And that's Leon's." She glanced at Leon's desk, the one next to yours. Leon placed your box on the empty desk, not a drop of sweat or groan in sight despite it being very heavy. You glanced at how his biceps strained against his shirt, veins poking out on his forearms.
"Tomorrow I want to see you fight. I have no doubt you are good in combat, but I need to know who has my back and how they fight." Leon said, his deep voice leaving no room for contradiction as he finally looked at you, noticing your eyes were already on him. You nodded curtly and he moved to his office, passing you a fleeting glance as he walked past you. He gave you a small smile as he met your eyes, but you could tell the man was tired as hell, so you didn't hold against him how he barely said two words to you since your promotion was announced.
"Welcome to the team, agent L/n." Sherry said with a smile, patting your shoulder and going back to her desk to pick her work back.
---
As Leon requested-or more like ordered-, the next morning you showed up dressed in sport clothes- a black compression tshirt and burgundy sweatpants-, ready to show your partner exactly what you were capable of. Leon was standing in front of you, dressed in a white compression shirt that showed his muscular complexion and grey sweatpants.
It was so early in the morning that it was only the two of you present in the room. That didn't bother you though, on the contrary, it was much better. More space for you to fight.
You stood in front of him, arms held up in front of you, back straight and legs shoulder-width apart. Although your stance was supposed to be tense, Leon couldn't help but notice how relaxed you seemed. That delighted him in a way, although he expected you to be confident. Given your upbringing, it was no wonder you were used to exercises like these.
Meanwhile, you analyzed your partner. His stance was mirroring yours, but you couldn't help but notice the tight set of his jaw, the tense muscles, how his biceps contracted, how his knuckles whitened.
Wasting no time, you threw the first blow, your right fist trying to make contact with his jaw, but his forearm shot up just in time to make contact with you. "You look quite tense. Am I intimidating you, Mr Kennedy?" You said with a smile as you ducked from his retaliation blow, a steady punch to your solar plexus.
The man scoffed and his leg shot up. You managed to dodge the kick to your thigh by spinning out of the way. "Intimidated? By you? Nothing scares me anymore." He said with a smile but it soon faded as your fist almost connected with his nose. He got his head down by millimeters, eyes wide, surprised at how fast you were. One second you were a few meters away from him, the next right into his personal space. "You are fast, Miss L/n."
"Took you by surprise there." You smiled and continued throwing punches and kicks, while all he did was defend himself. "Thought I was a weak little girl that barely knows how to throw a punch?"
"Oh, I could definitely tell by your body language how disciplined you are. Your punches are steady, your back always straight, breathing always even, eyes always focused." He said as he caught hold of your right wrist with his left hand and his right leg hooking to your left calf, tripping you. He managed to catch you just in time before you fell, his other hand shooting up to rest on your waist, preventing you from connecting with the mat. You could feel the heat of his skin through your shirt, how calloused his palms were.
Instinctively, your hands caught onto his shirt for support, and you couldn't help but notice his heavier breathing and the fast pace of his heartbeat under your palm. You smiled smugly, proud you managed to get him tired. "Have I tired you out already, partner?"
"I'm getting old, you know. But by the way I have you held right now, I'll say I'm still in pretty good shape" You hummed in agreement, looking into his eyes. Such a beautiful shade of blue, unlike any you've seen before. "You're getting distracted, partner." He said softly. Your grin stayed on your face as your leg -the one that wasn't entwined with his- shot up, and, since you were in a good mood today, your knee hit his thigh, the joint making contact with the hard muscle of his leg with great force.
His eyes betrayed no surprise, but the way the grip on your wrist loosened was confirmation enough. The moment your partner began to lose his balance and fall backwards, almost taking you with him, you twisted, using the leg he had hooked as an anchor to regain control.
Now standing up, back straight, free from his hold, you looked down at him with a proud smile. It was quite the achievement to trick the Leon S. Kennedy and have him fallen at your feet, looking up at you with something akin to admiration.
"Didn't expect that, huh?" He stood up, hands smoothing over the creases from his sweatpants.
"Should have. I must say, Miss L/n, you do live up to the rumors." He praised and reached his hand in front of him, inviting you to shake it. You eyed it suspiciously, eyes narrowing at the gesture. He didn't lower his hand, waiting for your response. He raised an eyebrow the moment you met his eyes, a teasing smile on his lips.
Sighing, you gave up and accepted his shake, his calloused palm closing against yours. When you met his eyes again, he gave you a firm nod, one that meant understanding and respect. The shake of your hands might not have meant much, but it was a sign of trust, a confirmation you could be partners, have each other's backs. And he appreciated that.
Leon was aware of your trust issues. The military taught you trust is important, and you were perfectly capable of working with partners, but that didn't mean he had your full trust when you barely knew each other for twelve hours. He had to earn it, and this was a good start.
"So what do the rumors say about me?" You said as you caught up to him, a bright smile on your face. Whether it was from the victory of the fight or the curiosity of local gossip, he couldn't tell.
Throwing you a bottle of water and taking one for himself from the fridge in the training room, he took a big gulp, loving the feeling of the cold liquid running down his throat. You did the same, but for some reason you couldn't help but glance at his neck, noticing the drops of sweat on his tanned skin, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed.
Adverting your eyes and putting the cap back on, you looked ahead, waiting for him to answer your question. "That you are an excellent fighter. Very fast and cunning. And an amazing shooter, although I can't confirm nor deny that information. Haven't got the chance to see you with a gun."
You laughed then, the sound echoing in the empty room. "It's better you didn't. I was a nightmare in the army."Leon cocked his head to the side, a small frown on his face, looking at you with a smile."I would hit all the targets before the others even got the chance to pinpoint their positions.. And then came the real missions..."
"Let me guess: headshots." You nodded, a nostalgic smile on your face.
"My colleagues and higher ups were always impressed." You shrugged simply, putting the bottle that you were holding in your hand on the table behind you. "When you have General L/n as a father, headshots are something you should have mastered by the age of five." He smiled at that, taking it as a joke. In truth, it wasn't. "So tell me, Mr Kennedy, did you know of Reynolds's idea? Of giving you a partner?"
"Just call me Leon. I'll get a headache is you call me Mr Kennedy for the rest of my career."
"Got it. Then you shall call me Y/n." You smiled kindly and he returned it, albeit it was more tired.
"To answer your question, I wasn't aware of anything. Reynolds is quite unpredictable. And even if he wanted me to know before telling you, he couldn't have, as I just returned from a mission."
You grimaced at his explanation. "He called you straight to a meeting after a mission? God, he's messy." Your partner nodded in agreement, lips pursed. He didn't have any expectations from the higher ups, but he still seemed disappointed.
"You train outside work, don't you?" You raised an eyebrow sarcastically.
"What gave me away?"
"Well, for starters, you have an office job. Your fighting is too good, too practiced. Plus, I'm assuming, given your upbringing, you still have that habit. You also strike me as the kind of person that chases adrenaline. And since you are not getting it here..." He trailed off and you smiled.
"You are good at reading people. I have a gym in my apartment complex, so yes, I train daily. Helps me let off some steam and take my mind off of things. And, as you said, since I was raised that way, it's quite hard to let go of it." A small pause, and then. "What about you? You are pretty fit yourself, and as often as you go on missions, I don't think that's your only way of keeping in shape. So? What's your secret?"
"Same as yours. My building also has a gym that I tend to spend more time in than in my own bed. Very relaxing out there." He explained and you nodded, expecting such an answer.
"I-" You wanted to ask more questions, keep the conversation going, and by the way he answered, he seemed eager to continue talking, but the door to the training room opened sharply and Sherry popped her head in. Her eyes immediately found Leon, then yours, and she signaled for the two of you to come outside.
You and your partner shared a confused look but complied, walking towards the door. "Hey. I see you are getting along and I'm really glad. Hate to break your bonding time, but I have a message from Reynolds, and you won't like it." She looked at Leon apologetically when she said that, and by the look of disbelief on his face, you knew what this was about. Your heart began thumping loudly in your chest, adrenaline taking over.
"Well, just spill it. We would've found out about it soon anyway." Your partner said softly.
"Tonight, you are leaving for a new mission. Reynolds will give you more details in today's briefing. Don't be late." She looked at Leon pointedly, probably knowing he is keen to being late to things, and left, closing the door behind her in the process.

Author's note: I've been putting this series off for a while now, but now I'm finally ready to write it. I'll try to update as soon as I can. This is an age gap (Leon is 40, reader is 25), angsty slow burn. TWs will be mentioned before every chapter. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I'll also mention that @julymist 's 'You're gonna be okay' inspired me to write this - one of my fav leon ffs ive read, highly recommend.
Synopsis:Your job at the DSO always consisted of writing a ton of reports and going to boring meetings, the result of which were, of course, more reports to write. You always wanted more action, yet you never got any field work. Not until him, anyway. But one random day, your life changes completely: tasked by the higher ups to join the best agent in counter-bioterrorism wasn't something you thought you would ever achieve, yet here you are. Now training for actual fieldwork doesn't seem so exciting anymore, especially when your new partner is Leon S Kennedy. And the problem is not the proximity from the missions or the training you undergo together, but the way his eyes roam over you, the way he touches you and the feelings he evokes in you.
Contains: uses of the term Y/n and L/n, Leon's hotass body and face, reader being a perfectionist

CHAPTER 1 - Red Lipstick (by Rihanna)
Your job at the DSO always consisted of writing contracts and reports. Nothing more, nothing less. You never got sent anywhere despite the military background, excellent grades you got from the army and your position in the Special Ops, and you would lie if you said it didn't frustrate you, as you have always been longing for more action rather than sitting at a desk and writing and signing papers.
You have been working for the DSO for three years now, and you could say you got used to the desk job, despite craving that adrenaline rush from your army days. You couldn't complain much, as the pay was good, allowing you to live in a residential neighborhood in the middle of the city. For a twenty-five year old, it was impressive. Your ass still hurt from sitting on that spinning chair for too long, though.
Today was no different from the rest of your work days; you arrived to work at 7 AM sharp, your burgundy suit sitting perfectly on you, red lipstick complementing your skin tone, manicure freshly done to match this month's color: red- well, mostly burgundy, but you got the idea. Every month, you made this habit of wearing a different color, and you never strayed from it. The frames of your glasses(prescription or blue light) always matched your nails, that matched your suits, that matched your handbag, that matched you phone case...Well, you got the idea. Some might call you a perfectionist that has weird fixations. As much as you wanted to deny that statement, whenever you passed a mirror and admired yourself, you couldn't help but agree with them.
Sitting down on your spinning chair, the one that you spun on until you got dizzy whenever you were bored out of your mind, you took in the sight of papers you had on your desk and sighed. It wasn't the amount of papers that pissed you off, but the way whoever placed them there did it so carelessly, it messed up your whole desk order. You liked keeping things tidy, in their place. Order meant a lot to you, so whenever someone messed with that, you closed your eyes, jaw tight, counting to ten and then back to one.
You never understood why people weren't paying more attention to their surroundings. There was an empty space at the end of your desk specifically left empty for new papers that would come through for you when you weren't there. The empty space was conveniently placed at the end of the desk, so it could be easier for them to leave it there. But no, they decided to dump it in the middle of the table, on top of other papers that had absolutely nothing to do with what they gave you. That meant more work for you, work you weren't particularly excited for.
It was one thing to go on field missions, retrieving or getting rid of stuff, and a completely another to sort papers all day. "So careless" You mumbled under your breath, lifting some of the papers to look for the ones that weren't related to the newly acquired work.
As you did so, you didn't notice the presence of one of your colleagues, too engrossed in mumbling curses and sorting papers out. When the guest knocked over the wood of the desk, your eyes immediately snapped to the knuckles hitting the table. They trailed up until they rested on the figure of Sherry Birkin, an important informant for field agents. The woman is six years older than you, yet she looks so youthful, you'd guess, between the two of you, she was the younger one.
Her blonde hair was cut in a pixie cut, a hairstyle you think suited her very well, helping her maintain her youthful appearance. She didn't have too much make up on, just a little blush, some mascara and a soft pink lip gloss on her lips. Her white dress shirt had no wrinkles in sight, her black pencil skirt fitting her perfectly.
Seeing you finally noticed her, she crossed her hands across her chest and raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on her lips "What's got you so pissed off today? The day hasn't even started and you are already mad and swearing."
"Was I that loud?" She nodded and you grimaced, but then saw the papers and got mad again. "Someone put a bunch of reports on top of papers that are not related to each other. And now I have to sort them out."
"Why don't you just start writing on them and once you get to the unrelated ones, you just... move on?" She suggested and you shook your head.
"You know me, Sherry. Won't be able to rest until I have them sorted out. Plus, the papers that were here before the new ones were bough had to be given today to Reynolds."
"Speaking of Reynolds, he told me to send you to his office. Got something important to talk with you. Said it's urgent." She winked and left, smiling on her way back to her desk as she heard your loud groan.
"I'll go nuts in this agency." You mumbled and got up, your heels clinking against the tile floor, the loud echo making your colleagues throw you interested glances, although when they saw the look on your face they looked back at their work. It was nothing new to see you(or anyone, really) with a sour expression on your face as you walked towards the director's office, as nobody really liked being called by him. He wasn't a bad boss or anything- on the contrary, with you, he was quite understanding- but he had the tendency of yelling so loud, the whole floor heard his scoldings. Which wasn't the funnest thing.
"Good morning, sir." You greeted as you entered his office, the old man meeting your eyes with a happy nod, a smile plastered on his face. That was strange. He only smiled when he was drunk -which you've only had the honor to see once, when he got promoted to a higher position, closer to the president-, and he certainly never did that during work, let alone on a random morning. He was very professional and stern, the only time you saw him smile was in the photo he had on his desk, a sweet picture of him, his wife and 10 year old daughter taken in a beautiful park.
"Morning, Miss L/n." He gestured to the chair in front of him. "Take a seat, please. I got something to discuss with you."
You looked at him suspiciously, a frown on your face. " Right... If this is about the reports on the Denver facility, I apologize for the wait, I had a small mix up with other reports, but I'll see to-"
He raised a hand and you stop mid explanation, waiting for him to talk. "I don't care about the Denver facilities right now. I have something bigger for you, L/n."
"For me?" You raised an eyebrow and pointed to yourself, not expecting this news so early in the morning.
"Yes, for you. Do you think I've kept you here for so long just to write contracts?" You nodded and he scoffed. "Oh, please. The daughter of America's greatest general is not supposed to be sitting locked up in her office when she has so many useful skills." He boasted and you rolled your eyes.
"Seems like her skills were on stand-by for three years, then. Because I can tell you the exact number of papers I have signed since I came here." You heard a soft scoff from somewhere to the side, and that's the moment you realized it wasn't just you and Reynolds in the room. You turned your head sharply in the direction of the sound and frowned at the unknown man sitting so relaxed in the far corner of the room.
He was tall and muscular, his worked abs visible through his white compression blouse. You wouldn't deny, the man was hot: blond hair cut in a weird way that weirdly suited him, soft jawline and beautiful steel-blue eyes that, when catching the light, would turn sky-blue. He had this carefree energy too, oscillating between amused and tired, a soft smile on his lips. You nodded your head in salute and he responded in kind.
"You surely know or have heard about Leon Kennedy, yes?" Reynolds said and realization hit you. Of course you have heard of him. He was kind of a legend around the office. Whenever the man returned from a mission-which was quite often-everything everyone would talk about was his amazing performance and handsomness. You've never seen him, but by the way everyone-men and women- was talking about him, you expected quite the beauty. Apparently, you were right. He is quite pleasant to look at. Well, maybe more than a little.
"Yes, sir, I have."
"And you have heard of General L/n's daughter, Y/n, haven't you, Kennedy?" Reynolds addressed him now, the blond nodding curtly. "Good then. Means you won't have problems making conversation."
Both you and Leon shared confused glances at his words. "You called us both here to make conversation?" You wanted to laugh in his face, but let him explain first.
Reynolds nodded, all serious and stern again. "Yes. I think it's important for partners to have a good relationship before I send them on deadly missions together. You know, so they won't cut each other's throats before they even get to the location. Or not be able to cooperate and fuck everything up."
"W-what do you mean, partners, sir?" You asked, stumbling over words, confusion fogging your brain.
"I mean exactly what the word means. The missions are getting rougher, Kennedy is getting older. I figured a partner to watch his back would guarantee his return home. And since your whole life you trained for moments like this, I figured now's the time to put your skills to use. As I said, I didn't recruit you for a desk job."
"About that-"
"You can begin to pack your stuff from your desk. I already have someone to take over your job. You'll be moving to the highest floor, Birkin will show you the way. From today on, you and Kennedy will train together, learn each other's weak points and combat styles. I don't need to explain why, do I?"
"No, sir." You said sternly and he nodded proudly.
"That's all, then. Welcome to the DSO, agent L/n."
The moment Leon first laid eyes on you, when he was a young cop placing a coffee order for his superior at the cafe you worked at, he realized how attracted he was to you. He watched your hands move around and all he wanted was to hold and kiss them. He looked at you and thought you were so hugable. He wanted to hold and kiss you forever. When he finally got to ask you to be his girlfriend and you said yes, holding you became kind of a habit of his, a way to let go of stress. He had no idea how it worked, but it did. He would hug you randomly, kiss your knuckles out of nowhere, play with your hair whenever he got the chance.
Years later, now happily married with your own house and 3 dogs, he still does this. He becomes clingier with every mission he has. You don't complain, of course, but you have noticed his sneaky ways of making sure you are always near him and he is always there to hold you.
His favorite trick is to lower the temperature in the house. Especially at night. He doesn't do it by much, so that you both wouldn't turn into icicles, but a few degrees still count, especially when he knows you love to wear the thinnest clothes or almost none at all when it's just the two of you at home. So whenever you go to shower, he lowers the temperature a bit, and acts confused when you tell him how cold it is in the house, internally smiling, all proud and cheeky.
His arms would come around you as he sits on the edge of the bed, smelling the scent of the shower gel you used in the bathroom from your skin, the one he sometimes uses too, without you knowing, of course. You would stand in front of him, towel barely clinging to your body, arms caressing the sides of his neck comfortingly, suppressing a moan when his fingers would slip under the towel and in between your legs. He would untie the towel with his other hand, and when goosebumps would run over your skin, he would bring you against him, his mouth on your core, tongue slipping between your folds, playing with your clit. One of his muscular arms would hold your hips steadily while the other would run up and down your abdomen, feeling the way your muscles would flex when you reached your climax. You would still shiver, but from reasons different from the cold.
Another way to bring you closer to him was when he was sick. He hates being ill, mostly because he makes you worried, but he can't lie, he loves when you pamper him, bringing him everything he needs. He loves when you ask him what else he wants, his answer always being a quiet "You.". You always protest, saying you don't want to catch the cold from him, but never do anything to move away from him when he grabs your arm and drags you on top of him. He hugs you close to his chest, loving the feel of your heartbeats syncing together.
Leon is no different when you are sick. On the contrary, he is clingier. He doesn't care about catching the cold from you. He loves to take care of you, cook you soup and go as far as spoon-feed you against your protests and complains. He absolutely refuses to have you walk anywhere when you are sick. You could literally be getting up from bed to walk to the bathroom or take a few steps around the room to help your stiff legs, and he would immediately be behind you, lifting you up in his arms and carrying you wherever you need to go. You can't say you hate it, per se, but sometimes it is a little bit annoying.
This man loves your hands, especially since you got married. It's something about how the wedding ring fits your finger so well, how warm your hands are and how soft they feel against his calloused ones that make him so attracted to them. Any chance he gets, he will hold your hands. Wether it is because your gloves suspiciously disappeared during winter or because your favorite coat with deep warm pockets was dirtied accidentally by your dogs's dirty paws, you always end up asking him to warm your hands, and you always notice(and deliberately ignore) the cheeky smile on his face that he tries very hard(and fails) to hide.
Could you please do Leon Resident Evil 9 and his hot wife where he reveals his wife together they go to a red carpet premiere of something ?
Oh, this is such a great idea. Had a ton of fun writing this. I'll make it an AU, since I feel its more fitting that way, as I don't really see how DSO agent Leon would be a celebrity at a red carpet without a background in acting, singing or modeling. So here it is, hope you enjoy it.

Your whole life, your dream was to be the biggest star, the actress everybody talked about, admired and adored. Hence why, ever since you were a child, your parents, familiar with the acting industry, made sure to make your dream come true.
Your childhood was filled with cameras, scripts, a ton of lines to remember, red carpet events and interviews. Debuting at the age of seven in your first ever film, you played the younger version of a famous actress. Your character was supposed to be traumatized from a young age, very dramatic, and you nailed that performance. That was how you became known.
For years after that, you got roles one after the other, and by the age of twenty, you became one of the most successful actresses of all time, starring in movies with almost every iconic celebrity you could think of.
People not only loved you for your acting, but also for your charisma. Your interviews were what many would call flawless, your ability to handle inappropriate questions and comments something everyone appreciated. You engaged with the audience and made everyone entertained.
Every year since debuting at seven years old, you had a busy schedule, so busy it got to the point where you would have been starred in nine movies in a year alone. That was quite a headache, as the interviews and press conferences were exhausting, but your parents never really allowed you to take any breaks.
Your father was a famous music producer, while your mother made costumes for famous singers and actors, her dresses iconic even twenty years after they came out. Being such big names in the Hollywood industry, you could imagine how pretentious and strict they were to your career.
As successful as your acting career was, you couldn't boast about your love life like...at all. In your twenties, you had a few flings here and there with certain actors, but they never went anywhere beyond a few steamy nights and a few dates that were quickly revealed to the public by the paparazzi. Once that happened, your fanbase made sure to comment on it, most of the time not anything pleasant, and that was pretty much the end of it.
Speaking of fans, they loved shipping you with any male co-star you starred alongside with, claiming your chemistry was over-the-roof and all that stuff. Despite the support, nothing ever came out of it. You remained friends with them, sure, but it was never anything romantic between you.
Not until him, anyway.
Almost five years ago, you met your husband, Leon Kennedy. A successful actor that rose to fame by starring in dozens of action filled movies and, of course, for being so hot. Now forty-nine years old, Leon was still far from retiring, loving his job as much as you did. Everyone loved him, his acting always leaving the audience impressed, his fighting scenes so complex and well-done, movie critics declared him one of the best actors of all time, especially given he was doing his own stunts, always refusing someone else to do it for him.
He wasn't introduced to acting as a child as you were, but by the age of twenty he became a model. He starred in a few music videos(that your father may or may not have produced) and had a ton of deals with famous clothing brands all over the world. His good looks helped him in the modeling industry, and since he was already famous there, it wasn't hard for the casting directors to go as far as beg him to star in their movies.
His first movie became a blockbuster, his character -a second lead- quickly stealing the spotlight from the main leads. That was the beginning of his successful career that would last for many years to come, his prime never fading.
You never starred in a movie with him, although everyone wished for it. That opportunity never came. People shipped you, coming up with tons of rumors that, at the moment, were false. Both your PR teams denied them, saying the only relationship you and Leon had was that of mutual respect between two successful actors. The age gap between you(of 17 years) was also used as an excuse, yet, being Hollywood, nobody really cared about it that much.
Since we are on the topic, the first rumor sparked at an award show where both of you were invited and nominated for an award. The chairs were placed in rows, like at the cinema, so you ended up seated next to one of you co-stars and Leon. You, of course, made conversation with everyone, including the hot man, and he answered politely back. But whenever the host would make corny jokes or somebody you didn't really like would win an award, you would look at each other, exchanging conspirational glances that most fans, of course, noticed, and hence why the rumors never really faded.
For years, you and Leon would attend the same events and your eyes would find each other in the crowd, but you never really spoke. And that helped ease the idea that you were in a relationship.
But little did the press know the actual truth. In reality, after that night at the award show where you really hit it off, you kept in contact. He would send you voluminous, beautifully crafted bouquets of flowers, each containing sweet notes and you would send him letters referencing said notes. It was a sweet bond, the one you two had.
It quickly developed into something more. All actors knew each other, especially those with a career as successful as yours. So when someone held a grand birthday party on a yacht, you and Leon were always invited. And that was how you got to know each other, developing a romantic relationship without the tabloids batting an eye.
Ever since then, for five years, you have developed a bond like no other. He was the most perfect man for you, always a gentleman that would worship the ground you walked on if you really asked him to. Your love was like in the movies, and everyone that knew of your relationship wanted to have a relationship like yours.
One year ago, you got married. It was an elegant wedding with your and Leon's close family and friends, nothing too grand as neither of you wanted to disclose your relationship to the public yet. It was a miracle nobody found out about you, but you weren't complaining. You were aware some people would be unhappy, but you wouldn't be able to please everyone- no that you really cared that much.
Thing is, by the age of thirty-two, people shouldn't have any expectations that you would be single, yet some, the more delusional ones, did. The amount of restraining orders you had to file against creepy stalkers was so big, you couldn't remember an exact number. And this kept happening even after you moved in with Leon and got married. Because you were so good at keeping it hidden, nobody suspected a thing, hence the amount of stalkers that kept following you arounf wherever you went.
You and Leon agreed that now it was the time to make your relationship -your marriage- public. And the perfect moment for that was at the premiere of his newest film.
The dozens of camera lights flashed before you, pictures taken as the fancy black car parked in front of the red carpet. Leon got down from the car, so elegant and breathtaking in his suit, you licked your lips at the thoughts of him tying his tie around your neck and squeezing just enough to make you feel good. Blinking, you stared at the hand reaching towards you, that of your husband's, his silver wedding band glinting in the artificial light.
You smiled as your fingers touched his, and he squeezed tightly in reassurance, his steady touch calming you down. You were used to the camera, to the attention everyone gave you when you entered a room, but this was different. You didn't just come to a premier of a movie for publicity or a PR stunt, but you did so to let the whole world know who your heart belonged to.
The moment you stepped out of the car, your hand in Leon's, both wedding rings on display for the camera, it was as if time stopped. The chatter of the paparazzi stopped, their cameras still in their hands, their eyes wide in shock, taken by surprise by your appearance.
The shock didn't come from the fact that you showed up. It was common practice for actors to go to movie premiers they weren't part of, just to show support. The shock came from whose car you just got out of. Whose hand you were holding. Whose eyes you looked so lovingly into.
The silence lasted for only a moment, and then chaos erupted. Cameras flashed, questions pouring out of the reporter's mouths, their words tangling into one incoherent blabber. You knew this was about to be the main title in the news for days, but you hardly card. All that mattered was that you could finally walk free with your husband without having to disguise yourselves.
"They seem to be overreacting, don't you think so, love?" Leon leaned his lips to your ear and you smiled confidently. His hand was on your waist, steadying you as usual, his fingers drawing reassuring circles.
"Quite the drama queens, actually. People get married all the time, I don't see the big deal they make it to be." You smiled at him, ready to pose for the camera once you walked to the designated spot in the middle of the red carpet. His hand left your waist as yours rested on his shoulder, the other hand on your hip.
He looked you up and down, taking the way the expensive purple dress fit your body, and imagining how much he would enjoy taking it off later, after the event was finished. You were wearing a custom dress that your mother made for you, and everyone was mesmerized. It had short sleeves made out of fine lace that came off your shoulders and formed into a deep v-line that accentuated your cleavage. It was long, just enough to cover your ankles, only the tips of your toes and silver heels visible.
As you posed, Leon looked into your eyes as if they were the most mesmerizing thing in the world and kissed the inside of your elbow, his stubble tickling your sensitive skin, making you chuckle. You could hear the audience's excitement, the shock at what he did, and you could smell the comments that would appear on social media from there.
"Such a charmer, Mr Kennedy."
"Only for you, Mrs Kennedy."
After the photos were taken, it was time for interviews. Normally, the guests of the actors weren't allowed to join said interviews, but you being you, considered one of the most successful actors of all time, nobody complained. On the contrary, some reporters were more interested in asking you questions rather than Leon. And your husband didn't mind it a bit.
"So, tell me, will you change your surname to Kennedy now? Don't think I haven't noticed your rings." one interviewer said with a grin, glancing at your and Leon's hands that were intertwined. The man has't let go of you once. You had the feeling he might be addicted to touching you. Everywhere you two went, he always held you- not in a sexual or PDA way, but just small touches that were barely noticeable. You had the feeling it calmed him down. So you just let him; it's not like you complained about it, anyway.
"Oh, well, sure, I do go by Kennedy now, but since I built my career on my surname, I will go with that professionally." You didn't know how this question was relevant to the premiere of the movie, but you expected this to happen.
"So tell me, when did you two get together? I know everybody kept speculating over the years that your chemistry was way too perfect for you to be just acquintances, and it seems they were right."
"Oh well... It's been quite a while, you know? Five, almost six years, I'd say." You smiled at her shocked face.
"I knew it. That night at the Oscars was the turning point, wasn't it?" You just shrugged, not willing to disclose any more information about your romantic life. You kept it secret for a reason.
"Maybe yes, maybe no. I'll guess we'll never know."
"Will we see you starring in movies together, now that you are married? Everyone has wanted a collaboration between the two of you, and their dream seems to be coming true." Another interviewer asked and Leon answered this time, composed and charismatic, as usual.
"If the opportunity arises, we won't deny it. I will never pass the chance to act alongside my beautiful and talented wife." He said and brought your intertwined hands to his lips, kissing your knuckles. You heard 'Aw's' coming from the fans behind the interviewer and knew they wouldn't live it down.
You were right, as the next morning, when you opened social media at the call of your manager that told you to look urgently on the internet, you saw a ton of positive comments of congratulations on posts with you and your husband of the night prior.
User77499993: They are so hot together! So glad they found their match!😊
User6468929: My favourite actors are together! I am so glad they are married!
User82902020: This made my day! I've been shipping them for years now, and to see them finally together is like a dream come true😊
User72790111: The IT couple of the century!
User1380101222: Imagine their kids😄
User020233112: Better worship our queen, Kennedy.
"Glad nobody's freaking out about the news." Leon's raspy morning voice brought you back to reality. Glancing up at him from your phone screen, you saw a soft smile plastered on his face. You reached to kiss his lips, the blanket slipping from your naked chest, the slightly chilly air of the hotel room sending goosebumps on your skin.
You were set to leave back home in a few hours, since the organizers of the event booked hotel rooms for everyone invited so they wouldn't worry about leaving early. You can imagine that after the event was over and the two of you made it to the room, your beautiful custom-made dress was discarded across the room, your night filled with passion.
Leon never hesitated or held back from showing you how much he adored you. He always tried proving to you that when you thought his affections reached their limit, you were wrong. And you didn't mind it one bit.
Now, you were laying your back on his naked muscular chest, his arms around you, his lips on your neck, sucking and nibbling, making you drop your phone onto the mattress, forgetting about the comments and news. You felt his erection growing against your ass, and you knew what was about to follow.
"Leon, what are you doing?" You asked through laughs, despite knowing exactly what he was doing. You just wanted to hear him say it.
"What does it look like I'm doing, gorgeous?" He turned you fully towards him, making you straddle his lap, aligning with your entrance. He spoke into your lips. "I am worshiping my wife."

You have always found Leon hot. Everything about him was charming in a way; no matter under what circumstances, your husband managed to carry himself with so much grace, making him so attractive, it made you go insane. One of those times when you went feral was whenever he had to fix anything around the house. The way he was so concentrated on the task at hand, brows furrowed, nose scrunched just the slightest bit and lips puckered thoughtfully, made him so attractive and...normal.
With his job, you weren't used with Leon roaming around the house so much. Whenever he returned from his missions, all he wished for was to bury himself in you, hold you close, your mere presence grounding him, keeping away his nightmares and overwhelming thoughts. The next morning, you would wake up with his arms draped around your form, caging you close to his muscular chest, not letting you move anywhere. Once the two of you finally managed to get up and start the day, he would trail after you like a lost puppy, not wanting to miss a second of his free day without you around.
So when one morning you woke up without the steady beat of his heart under your ear and no strong arms holding you close to his hard, warm body, you frowned. He had just returned from a mission two days ago and, due to how exhausting that mission was, the DSO allowed him one additional rest day before he had to take up office work. You knew he hated it, his complains always making you smile as you munched on your dinner together, but at the same time you and him were grateful that at least he managed to get home during the night and spend it together.
Putting on a robe to not go out in your very revealing pajamas, you went to the bathroom connected to your bedroom to brush your teeth and wash your face. Once that was done, you went downstairs, your house slippers making a flapping sound when you walked down the stairs, attracting the attention of your Bernese dogs, Loki and Bijoux. The two ran towards you, tails wagging in excitement, tongues licking your face in greeting.
"My babies!" You laughed as they were barely containing their excitement, paws reaching for you. You petted their soft, shiny fur with a bright smile, thinking back to the day you finally managed to convince your husband to get dogs.
It was 7 years ago, when the two of you were not even married, but living together. You were so happy after his proposal, so unexpected and emotional, you couldn't stop crying for hours. The two of you were in bed, naked, tangled in the sheets, breathing still a little bit erratic from the fantastic sex you always had with Leon. Your head was on his chest, lips slightly parted as you watched the invisible lines your hand was forming on his damp skin. His hands were around you, not able to contain himself when it came to touching you.
You popped the question then, so out of the blue and sudden, it took him a while to process it and answer. You asked for a puppy. Always wanted one but never had the courage. But with how long he was sometimes gone, you thought a fluff ball would keep you from feeling so lonely. Initially, he was opposed to the idea. He knew you would be devastated when it would inevitably pass in a few years. But when he thought more of it, he saw your point, and accepted.
When you got the puppy, a 3 week old Bernese that you named Loki(mostly because he was mischievous and chaos incarnated)Leon was very hesitant. He wouldn't play with it, take it out or pet it. Initially, you thought he hated it, but a few weeks after you bought Loki inside your home, when you returned from your work, you noticed all the lights were off, no sound in the house whatsoever. You were scared then. Whenever you came home, no matter how late or early it was, your puppy was always there for you, welcoming you.
You walked wearily into the living room, and that's when your heart melted and a huge smile appeared on your face. Leon was laying on the couch, asleep, arm hanging off the couch with one of Loki's thousands of toys gripped softly between his fingers, while the puppy laid its head on his chest, breathing softly, eyes closed. You, of course, took a photo, the picture now framed on the wall.
That night was the moment you realized that Leon didn't hate the dog, but was scared. Scared to have the puppy attach to him and then not return. He felt guilty enough about you, hating himself more and more with each mission that forced him to leave, he didn't need someone else to be disappointed because of him. Knowing him so well, you realized what his deal was and told him that whatever guilt goes through his mind is not true and he seemed to calm down and be more affectionate with Loki.
During your wedding, your puppy was the ring bearer and it was the cutest thing ever, the photo of him in your arms, both you and Leon in your wedding attire, wedding bands shinning in the sun, now hanging on the wall.
Not long after the wedding, maybe a year later, you brought into conversation the brilliant idea to get a new dog. Your excuse was Loki feeling lonely whenever Leon was on mission and you were at work. So of course, your husband agreed. You got Bijoux from the same breeder as Loki, and she was a healthy sweet girl. Compared to Loki, she was calmer and absolutely adored cuddles and kisses. From then, the rest is history.
Leon walks them in the garden, plays with them anytime they want and makes sure they get everything they need. He is so loving towards them, you have no doubt he will be the same way towards your children one day.
"Oh, my god, you are so happy I woke up, aren't you?" You said in a high voice, the one you usually addressed your dogs in, squealing when they jumped on you again, almost making you fall from the force two fully grown Bernese dogs had. "I'll find Leon and then I'll take you for a walk, alright?" You promised and at the magic word 'walk', they got more excited, running in circles around your legs, almost tripping you.
Smiling, you went into the kitchen, but still no sight of your husband. He wasn't in the garden or living room either, so he must have been in the garage. He mentioned wanting to take a look at his motorcycle, so you figured that's what he was doing now.
As you opened the door to the garage, you glanced at the bike, but your husband still wasn't there. You almost begun to worry he might have been called by the DSO on an urgent mission and left, when you heard a soft groan coming from somewhere.
You then looked around more carefully, noticing the tools scattered everywhere, the hood of your car opened, and the movement underneath it. Leon, feeling your presence, slid down from under the car and your breath caught in your throat at the sigh before you.
Your husband was dressed in black shorts that showed his muscular, tanned legs, and a white tank top that was dirty from the oil of the car. His arms were a bit dirty by dust, sweat dripping down his neck and chest. You bit your lip as your eyes took in the sight before you. For some reason, he looked so attractive at that moment you wanted to pounce on him right then and there, but you managed to hold yourself back.
"Morning, sweetheart." He said a bit breathless and stood up, taking a small towel from the hood of the car and wiping his hands.
Not caring about the dirt on him, you walked towards your husband and kissed his lips, his mouth immediately opening and letting your tongue in. You leaned on him, deepening the kiss, your arms resting on his hips as if they belonged there.
Finally backing away from his mouth to catch some air, you looked in his eyes and greeted back. "Morning, handsome. What's got you so worked up so early in the morning?"
He chuckled and took both of your hands in his, kissing your knuckles softly, his 3-day stubble tickling your skin pleasantly. As he got older, you learned you loved his unshaven look, albeit sometimes, when he left it for too long, it would get annoying.
"Heard you complaining last night about how your car broke down in the middle of the road, so I had to fix it. Can't leave my wife with a broken vehicle, can I now?" Your heart fluttered at his words, as always. You loved how observant he was, how he listened to everything he said. Time and time again you believed your words fell on deaf ears, but he always managed to prove you wrong, and you always were impressed.
You couldn't help but relax your shoulders in relief. Before coming to the garage, you thought he got called in for another mission. Your biggest fear was that you won't get to say goodbye when he is sent off and, worst of all, get that phone call from the DSO telling you that he was gone. You never told Leon that, but by the way he always left you notes and called you when you woke up, you were sure he knew.
"What worries you, beautiful?" He ran his finger over your furrowed brows, smoothing the worries away.
"Thought they called you for another field mission. And I didn't get the chance to kiss you goodbye." You looked down at your interwined hands, and he squeezed them, letting go of one of them o he could lift up your chin to meet his steel blue eyes.
"Love, I always write to you when I leave to work, and if a call like that ever occurs, I would wake you up, no matter how tired I made you the night before." You chuckled at that and he laughed, caressing your hair with so much care and adoration in his eyes, you wanted to cry. "So don't ever worry about it, okay? I'm not an asshole that would leave on a deadly mission without letting his wife know about it first. In person." He made sure to specify and your fear subsided completely, his assuring words managing to calm you down.
"Is my car alright?" You changed the subject, remembering exactly what he was doing before you came in. "And why did you work on it so early? Did you have nightmares again? God, Leon, I told you to wake me up if you don't feel well."
Your concern made the blond smile, his lips pecking yours to calm you down. "None of that, love. The dogs wanted to go for a walk at seven in the morning, so I had to oblige. I couldn't go back to sleep after, and I felt productive, so I decided to fix what needed fixing in the house. That's all. Also, the car is almost done. Once I finish it and I shower, I am all yours." He assured and let go of your hands, going towards the hood of the car, leaning over it, one arm holding himself up, his muscles bulging, veins popping.
That sight alone could have you come right then and there. You bit your lip, a smile forming on your face, your cheeks flushing as if you were a teenage girl who made eye contact with her crush for the first time when in reality the man standing before was your husband of seven years, the man you have been in a relationship with since you were twenty-six years old and whom, now, at thirty-nine, you couldn't imagine a life without.
"I can feel you staring, love." He said, unimpressed. He was used to your lustful looks and little obsessions you developed over the years, so your staring was nothing new to him. It amused him, more than anything.
"Can you even blame me? That tank top of yours fits you really well. You should wear those more often. Actually, tomorrow I'll go and buy one in each colour possible, so you can wear them all the time."
"Thought you prefered me shirtless." He added and your eyes lit up.
"Of course I do, but there's something about a muscular man wearing certain types of clothes that does it for me." He chuckled, a low sound deep in his throat, and you immediately got wet at that. This man would be the death of you.
Feeling brave and already needy at the sight of him, you approached your husband, hugging his broad, muscular back and placing your cheek on it. "How about we start working on that project we talked about some time ago?" You felt him go still, hearing his breath hitch.
"You sure about that?" He asked wearily, yet not too opossed to the idea.
You nodded."I'm already quite old. The more we wait, the worse I'll feel once it actually happens. That's what I've read anyway."
"Well, if that's what my wife wants." He said and turned around, taking you in his arms and walking back inside the house, your laugh ringing inside the home.

"Leon, your stubble is tickling me!" You said as the love of your life was sitting on top of you, both arms caging you in on the couch, kiss stubbled cheek touching your neck as he kissed it. In truth, it wasn't one of those romantic, deep and passionate kisses Leon usually gave you, but a more teasing, playful one. He loved making you laugh(and annoying you sometimes), so he never wasted any chance he got.
He knew you hated being tickled, so he would do it subtly. When his beard was bigger than usual, he would kiss you exaggeratedly, intentionally touching your sensitive skin. You didn't realize it at first, but the third time it happened, you caught on. Don't get me wrong, you loved his stubble, especially when it brushed the inside of your thighs as his tongue drove into you, or when it touched the skin between your breasts while he left kisses everywhere, or when it brushed the tips of your fingers as you cupped his cheeks to deepen the kiss, but this was one of the only moments you wished he got rid of it.
"Can't I kiss my beautiful wife now?" He said, taking a small breath and then going back to pecking your skin, hands now on your waist, holding you in place since you kept squirming and trying to move away from this absolute torture.
"You are such a dork, Leon." Your hands came up to rest on the 'loose' black t-shirt he was wearing that was clearly too small for him, the cotton fabric hugging his muscles beautifully, accentuating every form that you knew so well. With all your strength, you managed to push him back just a bit, enough for his lips to loose contact with your neck and his steel blue eyes to make contact with yours."You can kiss your beautiful wife only after you get rid of that beard. Or trim it at least. It's tickling me and I can't concentrate on anything."
He slumped on top of you, his body weight now half supported by his forearms. His head came to rest in between your breasts, eyes closed and a content smile forming on his lips once you began to caress his soft hair.
"Gimme five minutes, love." He said softly, and it was as if all energy left him at once. With age, you noticed how he seemed to be doing this more often. One minute he was playful and energetic-annoyingly so- and the next he was tired, as if a truck had hit him. You knew his work was taking a tool on him. You could see it in the numerous grey hairs in his head, beard and eyebrows and in the lines that formed on his face. You loved this look of him, so mature and attractive, how beautifully he aged, yet you knew those missions had a big tool on him. Despite the constant nightmares he still got from time to time and the nervous ticks you noticed would amplify under certain circumstances, he was handling the stress much better than before, when you two were only a young couple so foolishly in love(not that now you were any better).
"Want me to help you? I won't mind." You felt him smile against your skin as his hand squeezed your hip in agreement. He left a kiss on your chest and looked up at you, sky blue eyes watching you through blonde lashes, tired yet mischievous, the sight so hot it made heat pool low in your abdomen.
Swallowing hard, you tried to get up, but the weight of his body kept you down. "Just five more minutes, hon."
"My offer expires in two." You bit back and he chuckled, the sound low and attractive as he raised himself on his forearms.
"You are impossible, you know that?"
"Learned it from the best." You winked at him and accepted the hand that reached in front of you. The two of you walked towards the bathroom where Leon began looking through drawers and taking out a razor, shaving gel, aftershave and a towel. You, in the meantime, lifted yourself up on the counter, legs dangling over the edge as your husband placed everything he needed right next to you.
"Welcome to Kennedy's barber shop. What can I help you with today, sir?" You said as the man came to stay in front of you, in between your legs, his hands resting on your thighs.
"My wife wants me to shave my beard. Says she hates it. I couldn't tell you why, though. I could get used to it." He said as he ran a hand through it while staring at himself in the mirror behind you.
You rolled your eyes with a huff. "Well maybe it tickles her when you kiss her. Her skin is very sensitive, you know. If you're not careful enough, she might get irritated." You said matter-of-factly, trying not to give him a glare too noticeable. You put the towel under warm water and then twisted it, placing the warm cloth on his beard so his pores could open, making it easier for you to shave his hair.
"Oh, did she tell you that? He raised an eyebrow playfully, his hand caressing the inside of your thigh teasingly. You bit back a moan as the feeling of his calloused fingers drawing circles so close to your core didn't help your needy thoughts you tried to hide, for professionalism's sake.
"Do you usually... Act so close towards simple workers, mister?" You asked, trying to keep your voice from shaking with need, but by the smug smile he had on his face, you knew he already knew what effect he had on you. Of course he did! This man was an expert at sensing and creating feelings of lust.
"You can say that." He shrugged simply as you put the towel away and applied the shaving gel over his beard. He closed his eyes at the feeling of your hands on his face and you smiled. Gosh, you loved this man so much. "You have yet to answer my question. Does my wife really hate my beard?"
You chuckled as you took the sharp razor and brought it to his skin, running over it with ease, as if you've done this thousands of times. Truth be told, you loved shaving his beard. The sight of him between your legs, hands either on each side of you or on you, eyes closed in relief as you took care of him, made your heart swell. It was so domestic, so normal... It sometimes made you forget of his job and everything that went on in the world.
To Leon it was no different. He loved having you take care of him. He felt so loved and as if he truly meant something to someone. He loved teasing, kissing and loving you. He loved talking with you, listening to your work drama, hearing the gossip you told him so excitedly despite barely remembering the names of the people. He loved eating the food you cooked, so delicious he was addicted. He loved washing the dishes after your dinner, while you sat next to him and watched, not allowed to touch anything. He loved cuddling with you as you stood on the couch, limbs tangled, eyes focused on the TV, where a fun movie was playing. The domesticity of it all made his heart beat faster, so happy at what he achieved.
"Hope you didn't fall asleep there." Your voice brought him back and he just chuckled deep in his throat, not moving a muscle on his face, aware of the sharp razor still running across his skin.
His fingers traveled higher, reaching your panties and the cold blade left his face."Not while I have the razor, sir. Might injure you pretty badly and I wouldn't want a lawsuit or anything.
"We still playing that game?" He asked, eyes opening and landing on you. You continued your work, trying(and low key failing) to compose yourself.
"You still daydreaming?" You answered back in the same tone and he couldn't help but let out a hoarse laugh.
"You have a retort to everything I say, don't you?" His hands left your skin, leaving you feeling cold, and they now settled on the counter next to you, caging you in.
"You would expect after almost three decades being together, you would've figured it out by now." He sighed at that and hummed in agreement.
"You would expect after almost three decades being together, you would have ran out of sassy lines. Seems like it won't be happening anytime soon."
You burst out laughing at that, hand resting on his shoulder gently. "Did you just try to insult me but actually complimented me?" You looked at him lovingly, and he returned your look, so sincere it made your heart burst out of your chest.
"I'd never insult my wife. No matter how annoying her remarks get." He said seriously and you blushed.
"That's sweet." You mumbled and proceeded to continue your work. In no time, you were done, wetting the towel once more and cleaning his face of the excess gel. You 'ordered' him to wash his face, and after he did, he came back between your legs. You put aftershave on your hands and massaged his jaw softly, making him sigh in relief.
"Feels really good, beautiful." He mumbled and you ended your service with a kiss on his nose. His hands now rested on your hips, his body closer to yours than before. "Does your salon accept cash, or..." He teased and you smiled against his lips as you pecked them
Thoughts on the different eras of Leon with a smoking girlfriend/wife and how he would react to it. It could be different types of cigarettes, like marijuana, flavored cigarettes like strawberry, vape, hookah, or even aromatherapy cigarettes. Personally, I think Leon would love to taste the strawberry or fruity flavor of the cigarette during a kiss; he could actually get a little addicted. Maybe he might even be tempted to try a puff or two when his woman offers. If you don't feel comfortable writing about this, just ignore it. Thank you 💕!!
Sorry for the long wait, I needed some time to think about your request and now I'm glad and ready to comply, although I have to warn you, I don't smoke, so these might not be that accurate. I'll write about the reader smoking normal cigarettes because I am most familiar with them and I don't want to offend anyone(but you can imagine whichever types of cigs you want). Here are some scenes of different eras of Leon reacting to his partner smoking.

Re2 Leon Kennedy x girlfriend! reader
At the beginning of your relationship, you hid your addictive habit from your boyfriend. He was a cop and all, so you didn't think it was fitting for a man with his reputation to have a smoking girlfriend. You were quite foolish to think so, he didn't have any problem with it whatsoever, but you can't expect much from a 20 year old whose brain is still developing.
He found out on a random Tuesday. He just returned home from work and invited you over to his house. The two of you have been seeing each other for 2 months, the butterflies in your stomach still alive and dancing, the anxiousness as strong as the first time you started talking. This nervous feeling made your vicious addiction harder to control. You found yourself smoking more than usual, most of the times without realizing. Not because you were worried about his feeling towards you (he was the best, cutest boyfriend you could ever have, always taking you on cute dates, listening to your needs and gifting you gorgeous boquets of flowers), but because you weren't sure you were good enough for him. Your smoking habit was one of the main problems. He was never a judgy man, and you were never one to care for what strangers think or say about you, yet love really changes the way we act, feel and think.
You tried to stop smoking. You really did. Yet you just couldn't. You dreaded the idea of Leon finding out and looking at you with hurt and disgust. He was so pure, so innocent, it felt like an offense to even mention smoking or drinking in front of him. That day though...
It was a normal Tuesday, you just finished your college courses and drove to Leon's apartment to have dinner. Ever since you became official, you would have dinner together, one day at your house, the next at his. That day, it was raining heavily. You just parked your car, the umbrella held between your neck and shoulder as you held one cigarette to your mouth, while the other covered the flame of the lighter. Taking a drag from it, you exhaled the gray smoke out in the air, eyes closing pleasantly from the feeling.
You hadn't announced Leon you arrived at his apartment yet. He had the gentleman-y habit of getting out of the house and opening the door for you and kissing your cheek softly. You loved that about him. Always so kind and always putting your needs before his. Yet this time, with all the exams coming up, you have been overly stressed, leading to the need of more cigs being smoked as the days passed, in the worst possible moments. This evening was one of them.
You almost reached the butt of the cigarette when you felt a hand on your arm, grabbing it softly. You turned with a startled gasp, ready to hit the person in the chest(a self-defense technique your cop boyfriend taught you a few weeks ago and that you have repeated every day in the bathroom). The one you were about to hit raised their hands in the air, taking a step back.
"It's alright, dear. Just me" Leon said softly, a small smile playing on his lips. "Glad you perfected that move." His eyes moved to the cigarette from your hand, hand frozen in the air. The ash was taken by the wind as quiet settled between you. Your heart beat faster than ever, wide eyes looking at Leon, while he had a soft frown on his face, lips downturned in confusion. "You smoke?"
You gulped, biting the inside of your cheek and suddenly not able to look him in the eye. Your hand with the butt of the cig went down as you sighed, sure that this was the end of your relationship. You haven't argued with Leon before, so you didn't know how he would react. You expected the worst, anyway.
He surprised you when he let out a soft laugh. "You smoke the menthol ones, huh?" You looked up at him then, frown deepening. Wasn't he supposed to be mad? Not at the prospect of you smoking, but at the idea that you didn't tell him anything. Didn't trust him enough to be honest to him.
"You...Are not mad?" You asked as you watched his relaxed stance and his gentle smile. He didn't react as you expected.
"At you smoking? I'm more mad at you not telling me." He said softly, the smile never wavering. He didn't look too mad about that either. You still looked down, feeling ashamed and embarrassed at getting caught like that.
You felt two fingers grabbing your chin and lifting it up. As you did, you met Leon's sky blue eyes, so sincere and with no sadness or anger in sight.
"I thought you might not like smokers. Being a cop and all. So I figured while I try to stop smoking, to not tell you anything. But lately the whole stress from exams got to me, and I just can't stop." You confessed and Leon hugged you, his chin resting on top of your head.
"You don't need to justify yourself to me, although I appreciate you did. And I have no reason to get mad. I don't like smoking, but that doesn't mean I hate it either. Plus, I drink sometimes too... So I guess we each have our guilty pleasures."
You widened your eyes at that, not knowing he drank. Well, clearly the two of you didn't know each other for long, but you'll surely have a long time to make sure you do.

The dim yellow light coming from the floor lamp in the living room illuminated your face from the inside, the cold air of night hitting your skin softly. You closed your eyes, taking in a deep breath, then opened them and gazed at the stars above you. The moon was full, the sky was clear, all millions of constellations visible to the naked eye.
You have been on the balcony for hours now, a glass with wine, half full, resting on the small glass table. Next to it, the ashtray was almost filled to the brim with butts of cigarettes, the smell of smoke clinging to your dark purple silk robe.
Whenever your boyfriend, Leon, was away, you would stay like this, reminiscing the moments you two had together, thinking up scenarios, one worse than the other, and smoke one pack after the other. You knew it wasn't healthy, yet the stress, the thought that the man you loved could not return to you anymore, ate you from the inside.
You were so immersed in your thoughts that you didn't even notice when the front door of your penthouse opened, soft footsteps thudding on the floor. When the sliding glass door opened with a small creek, you flinched slightly and looked towards it, a smile immediately coming up on your face.
Leon was alive. He looked healthy, just some really small and inoffensive bruises on his arms, but other than that, he was alright. You sighed in relief and got up from the chair, your arms wrapping around his neck, your lips connecting to his soft ones. Your fingers played with the hair at the nape of his neck, so soft to the touch. His hands circled your waist, moving up and down, touching you everywhere he could. Your lips moved against each other, tongues connecting, ragged breaths and hungry groans escaping your mouths.
"Hello, handsome." You said once you backed away, moving some of his hair from his eyes so you could stare better. You were always fascinated with his eyes, the blue so beautiful, you looked into them any chance you got.
"Hey, gorgeous." He said back, a smile on his lips. His hands drew circles on your hips while yours cupped his jaw, the slight stubble tickling your fingertips. "What are you doing here, all alone? I always seem to find you here whenever I return from missions." He observed the unfinished glass of wine and the dozens of butts of cigarettes in the ashtray.
"Just...thinking." You said briefly and squealed when he lifted you up effortlessly, his arms holding you securely to his chest as his lips connected with yours once more. He walked towards the swing chair and sat down, making you sit on his lap as his kisses moved to your jaw, neck and collarbone.
While he continued running his lips down your skin, you reached your arm towards the table, picking up the cigarette from the edge of the ashtray, and brought it to your lips, taking a drag from it.
Leon's lips returned on yours again,, his mouth opening, welcoming the smoke you exhaled. He wasn't big on smoking, yet when he saw you with the cigarette between your fingers, bringing it to your lips and then the way your chest moved as you exhaled the smoke, he couldn't help but want a taste. Not from the cigarette itself, but straight from your mouth. So whenever he caught you smoking, he would initiate a make out session just so he could do this.
His warm, calloused hands gripped your ass as you lifted it, hips rocking on the growing erection in his pants. You moaned into his mouth as he groaned, the feeling of his bulge against your clothed folds making you bite your tongue. No matter how tired he was, he couldn't resist you. Never.

It was a calm thursday evening when you spotted Leon on the balcony of your penthouse, dark blue dress shirt unbuttoned, abs peeking out. His legs were spread apart, his eyes lost watching the horizon.
You sighed as you came outside, your fingers fiddling with the pack of cigarettes. You took one out, lighting it up with the matches always on display on the table as you sat next to him, the table the only thing between you and your fiance.
"Long day?" You asked, taking a drag from the cig. Leon watched you looking ahead, admiring how beautiful your side profile was. He let out a sigh, and you knew what he was about to tell you from that alone.
"Yes. They announced me I will be sent to investigate a new outbreak. Told me I should expect to be there a while." He explained and you smiled, still not looking at him, lost in your own thoughts.
"Not a nice way to start the conversation, darling." You were aware he had to be present there. But that didn't mean you didn't complain. Sure, you did know when to stop, but Leon, always so tired and detach when talking about his work, didn't mind your sarcastic(or not) comments. You looked at him now, a frown on your face when you saw him reach for the pack of cigarettes lying on the table, opening it, and taking one out. He took a match from the box and lit up the cig, bringing it to his lips and taking a long drag. You admired the way the smoke curled in the air around him, the way his blue eyes contrasted against it. "Worried?"
He looked at you now, confusion latched on his features. "How'd you guess?"
You looked at the cigarette in his hand and nodded. "You tend to do that when you're stressed. As someone who does the same thing myself, I tend to notice." You said simply and shrugged.
He smiled softly and nodded, flicking the ash from the cig. "Not about the mission per se. I've dealt with zombies before. It's just..." He glanced at the ring on your finger, the one he proposed to you to.
It happened unexpectedly, during your anniversary. You went on a vacation to celebrate being together for so many years, and he just... got down on one knee at sunset, asked the question and put the ring on your finger as you cried histerically. It's been almost a year since then, but you decided not to hurry to have a wedding. Both of you, but especially Leon, were busy with your work at the moment, and there was no rush, really. Gave you more time to prepare, more than anything.
"Before you, I had no one to return home to. I knew dying on a mission wouldn't affect anyone. But now..." He took another drag and put the butt of the cigarette in the ashtray, taking your empty hand in his and kissing your knuckles softly. "Now I have you, and no matter how injured I am, all I can think about is you, your body, and how hot you look with that cigarette between your lips. I used to enjoy going on missions, you know?" He lets out a small laugh. " But now I can't wait to get home, bury myself in you and show you how much I've missed you."
You smiled at that and got up, straddling his lap and placing your half smoked cigarette between his lips. "Well if that's how it is, then you better return to me as fast you can, and in one piece." He smiled into your lips as you kissed him, a hint of burnt tobacco on his tongue. You grinded against him, already feeling how strongly he wanted- no, needed- you.
"I'll miss you, love." He whispered against your lips, voice filled with lust and desire.
You smiled, moving your kisses to his neck while his hands gripped your hips tighter. "Why don't you show me, then, Mr Kennedy?"

Leon never understood the concept of cigarettes. At some point in his life, when the stress got the best of him, he would smoke one or two(not for the taste, but more for the relief they bought him), but as he got older, he begun to realize that they weren't for him. So, as he was sitting on the porch of your house, you cuddled in his arms as you both watched the stars together, he kissed your forehead before asking. "Why do you like it so much?"
He started at the pack of cigarettes on the table in front of you, and at the glass ashtray, full of smoked butts of cigs. You knew what he meant without needing to ask for any confirmation. After being together for so long, you knew your husband like the back of your hand.
With a sigh, you snuggled closer to his side, his arms tightening around you as a calm autumn breeze passed by. "It's calming me down." You yawned as his fingers begun to draw circled on your arm.
Your husband let out a low chuckle, the deep sound vibrating in his chest. "Such a common answer. Every time I ask someone why they enjoy smoking, their answer is always the same. I smoked too, you know?"
"Oh, I know. I was there." You said, a hint of sarcasm in your voice. You might or might not have influenced him too. He got curious a few years ago and tried it himself. It didn't last too long, but you couldn't say you missed those times. Despite your love for cigarettes, you knew they were eating away at your health. A silent, long-term killer. So you never really wanted Leon to go through this addiction too. You were worried about him as it was, with his missions and frequent bruises he came home with, you didn't need something else added to the list.
"I could stop anytime, you know? Sometimes I sit and think that I should just stop buying packs. And I noticed that I don't feel the need to smoke that often. I am not as stressed as I used to be, so the need kind of...dissipated."
"Well would you look at that. Maybe my words finally got into that pretty head of yours." He said with a hint of a smile and you snorted, your hand coming up to rest on his chest, so hard and warm. Yes, it was true. When the two of you were younger, he didn't really pay your vice much mind. He would sometimes enjoy kissing you while you smoked, the action of you exhaling smoke in his mouth making him lustful. But after he tried it himself a couple of times and realized how harmful it actually was(his lungs hurt for a whole week after smoking 3 cigarettes one after the other), he kept telling you to stop it too. You never argued about it, but he was insistent. You knew every reason he gave you was true, his concern valid, yet you couldn't stop. Now 49 years old, you finally realized he was right. Not that you weren't aware of the consequences before, but they never really settled in, not until a few months ago.
"Maybe they finally did." You said softly, gazing at the stars, smiling when you felt your husband's lips touching your temple. "Just don't stress me so much anymore, and I'll stop smoking in the blink of an eye."
His fingers found your chin, turning it up to look into his sky blue eyes, so pale under the moonlight. His soft stubble tickled your fingers as you touched his cheek, the silver strands in his soft blonde hair falling into his eyes.
"I am afraid I can't really do that, love. It's in my blood to stress you out, you know?" You sighed and he laughed cheekily. "I am not doing it intentionally, you know? It's just... It comes with the job." He said, guilt in his eyes.
"Oh, we are not having this conversation again, Mr Kennedy. I'd much rather count the stars in the sky than talk about this." You said softly, to which he pecked your lips.
"Got it, got it. No more serious conversations for the night."He raised his hands up in the air as if in surrender and you smiled. He kissed you again, deeper, more passionately this time."If that's what my lady wishes for, then sure, let's." He whispered against your lips. "I'm yours for the night, Mrs Kennedy."
"Only this one?" You raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on your lips.
Here are some headcanons of Leon being obsessed with his wife, and some particular habits/ body parts he loves. This was written with RE9 Leon in mind, but you can imagine whichever era of his you like.
Some of these are NSFW, so beware.
Leon is obsessed with your neck. He just can't help it! Whenever he gets the chance, he would bury his head in the crook of your neck, his lips kissing it slowly. Those kisses would soon turn into licks and nibbles, his mouth sucking on your skin softly, his teeth grazing your tender skin. He loves admiring his work after, always proud of the marks he left, although he knows you won't enjoy covering them with concealer before you go to work.
During sex, he loves to place his hand against your neck, squeezing the slightest bit. Not too harsh or anything, just enjoying the feel of your frantic pulse against his calloused hands as he thrusts in and out of you, groans slipping past his lips.
Another obsession of Leon's are your boobs. That man loves resting his head between them whenever you lay down, his hand kneading the soft flesh softly. It's not always sexual, just... Comforting. When it is though, he loves to play with your perked nipples, taking one in his mouth, swirling his tongue around it and sucking on it, while circling his finger against the other one.
Hands. Leon loves your hands. You are soft, compared to his calloused and scarred ones, so he adores to just hold them, sometimes admiring the way your wedding band fits against your ring finger. He loves measuring your hand with his, the size difference making his eyes soften. Whenever you lay on the couch, watching a movie that has been on your watchlist for weeks now, you could lay on the comfortable couch in your living room, legs spread open, Leon laying on top of you, his head resting on your chest, the weight of his body grounding you. Your hands would be intertwined, his thumb drawing circles on the back of your hand comfortingly. He does it unconsciously. It grounds him, calms him down, reassuring him you are still there. His hands are almost always warm, while yours are almost always cold. The fact that by holding them he manages to warm them up, it just calms him down, in a way. Moreover, to add to his obsession, he loves kissing your hands. Whenever he comes home from missions, the first thing he does after kissing your lips is to kiss your knuckles, closing his eyes whenever your hands cup his face in comfort, enjoying the feeling of the cold metal of the wedding band on his skin.
He loves your habits. The ones that are almost unnoticeable, even to you. The way your hips move slowly whenever you cook something, your favourite music playing in the background. The way your eyes light up when your dog walks in the room and settles between the two of you, on the couch. The way your shoulders relax whenever you see him enter the house alive, albeit your eyebrows turn into a frown when you notice his bruises. The way you do a little dance whenever you taste a food that you like.
He loves the way you say his name. How the vowels and consonants blend. He is obsessed with with how much love you say his name, no matter the situation. He also loves when you yell his name from downstairs, asking him to bring you something from the bedroom. Or when you fight. The way his name slips past your lips, angry, yet still full of love. God, he loves it so much!

For the past few days, if not weeks, your husband has been distant. So much so that you began to worry. It started off slow, almost imperceptable. He came home from work, hungry and tired. When he entered the house, you welcomed him with the usual kiss and hug you always gave him, just to brighten him up. He always wraps his arms around you, deepening the kiss, his shoulders relaxing, the frown on his face disappearing, yet that night, he remained tense, and after giving you a light peck on the lips, he went further inside the house.
You were confused and a bit hurt, yet blamed his behaviour on the shitty reports he had to make at work and the tiredness. Since then, it kind of became a routine. No more passionate make out sessions whenever he got his hands on you, no more rough shower sex or sloppy blow jobs under his desk when he was on onlne meetings with higher ups, no more corny dad jokes and bad one liners. None of that.
It didn't take you long to realize that something definitely happened to him. You tried to blame it on him being tired, yet deep down you knew that wasn't the case. He became colder, more distant.
Every friday, ever since you have been together(well over 20 years), you would have movie nights. It didnt matter how tired Leon was. He always insisted on cuddling with you on the couch, eating homemade snacks you baked together and watching a movie, never once in your long marriage breaking that routine. It became a tradition, really, and Leon never broke traditions.
Well, that was until 3 weeks ago, when he locked himself in his office one friday and never came out. The next friday, same thing happened, and you were done blaming it all on tiredness. It wasn't the fact that he came home later than usual or not watching movies with you like he always did. What really bothered you was the distance he kept from you. It almost seemed like he tried his hardest to avoid you. Not eating meals with you when that was the thing he looked forward to the most, not asking you to help him with his tie anymore in the morning, before he left off to work, turning his cheek slightly when you tried to kiss him, always acting more distracted by the paintings on the walls than on your lips, and the worst thing, sleeping on the couch in his office instead of your bed. Never, not even when you two had bad fights, did Leon ever sleep somewhere else. He always made sure you made up before sleeping, no matter ho big the fight was.
You did corner him one day, when you caught him in the kitchen late at night. You went downstairs to refill your bottle of water and he was there, washing the plate you left his dinner on. His shoulders visibly tensed when he heard your steps, his back straightening slightly.
"Are you ok?" You asked, not hiding the worry in your voice. You leaned against the counter, hands crossed on your chest, watching his muscular back as he washed that plate longer than he should have.
"Yes, love, just tired." He said, voice strained.
"I think that plate is washed well enough." You mumbled and he stopped, putting it in its place and then turning to you, towel in hand. His biceps became bigger as he dried his hands, and you couldn't help but stare. He was wearing a long black sleeve(turtleneck, of course) and grey sweatpants, the latter's wrisband staying so low on his hips, his defined V-line was visible, making you lick your lips. It's been 3 weeks since you two haven't fucked, 3 weeks since your fingers have tried and failed to bring you the orgasms Leon always did so effortlessly.
Noticing your expression, he raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on his lips, but, as if remembering something, it disappeared. He turned his back to you, taking his leather gloves from the counter and putting them on. You have noticed this too - the hunch of his back, the amount of turtlenecks he wore, the leather gloves that seemed to be glued to his hands. It was so weird and out of place, you just decided to ignore it until then. "The steak was delicious."
"Glad you liked it. Would have tasted better if you ate it earlier." He didn't miss the annoyed tone and the averting eyes. He knew you were pissed, worried. He could see it in the way you frowned at your food whenever you thought he wasn't looking, or in the way your fists clenched and your lips pursed as he passed you on the way to his office, as if to hold yourself back from saying something. And it hurt him. It ate him from the inside to see you overthink and stress, all because of him. At night, when he would come to take clothes from the closet, you would be covered in the blanket, fast asleep, eyes puffy and nose red from crying.
He hated himself for making you cry, yet he knew he shouldn't tell you what really happened to him. He knew the news of his illness, the uncertainity of his condition would destroy you far worse than not telling you anything at all. So instead he kept silent. He distanced himself from you, deliberately came home as late as possible, even if his heart ached at the decision.
Despite the promise he made to himself to avoid you, he couldn't resist himself, seeing you so sad, lips pressing together and avoidant eyes. Now standing in front of you, he reached a gloved hand towards your chin, touching it softy and turning it towards him. "Why the gloves?" You looked at him pointedly, voice steady despite the shivers on your skin provoked by his touch. You were done crying yourself to sleep because of worry and uncertainity.
"I can't explain it now, love." He said, albeit he knew you wouldn't let it go so easily. And he was right.
"Alright then. What's up with the turtlenecks? At first I thought it was cold in the house, hence why I raised the temperature, but you are still wearing long sleeves. So?" You raised an eyebrow in question.
"Babe, I can't-"
You intrerrupted him by putting a hand on his chest, to which his heart skipped a beat. "An even better question. Why are you sleeping in your office? Have I done something, Leon? If so, tell me, so I can fix it. Ican't-" a quiver in your voice stopped you from continuing for a few seconds, your stern exterior breaking. "I can't do this anymore. I tried blaming it on your work, on tiredness, but I can't help thinking I'm the one to blame." You said quietly, almost whispering.
Leon's eyes softened and his heart broke at that confession. He craddled your face in his hands, making your teary eyes look at him. "My love, you could never do anything wrong that would require me to be like this. Yes, I admit, I have been an asshole these last few weeks, but it's none of your fault. Heard me? None. I just..." He sighed. "It's complicated."
"Are you dying?" You asked bluntly, dreading the answer. If you didn't do anything, what else could it be? Cheating surely wasn't a thought that even passed your mind when it came to Leon, and divorce would have been something he would have definitely discussed with you, especially given how little arguments you have had throughout your relationship.
"Well, I'm almost 50, so I'm not too far from it." He joked and you glaed at him.
"Leon, I'm serious." He sighed, the teasing smile slipping. He closed his eyes, knowing he couldn't hide this anymore. You deserved to find out anyway, since you put up with his annoying one liners and traumatic events for so long.
Taking first his gloves off and then his turtleneck, you gasped. Along his hands, torso and neck, your husband, the love of your life, was covered in black blotches, so terrifying and intimidating, a tear slipped down on your cheek.
"Leon..."You looked at him, really did, so devastated and shocked it shattered his already broken heart to dust.
Your lip quivered and you wrapped your arms tightly around him, missing his warmth and comforting hardness. He wrapped his arms around you, albeit hesistatingly, but he couldn't deny that he didn't enjoy it. He has wanted to touch you for so long, yet he never fully dared, thinking his condition was contagious. Just this morning Sherry has confirmed to him that it wasn't the case, although he still had no idea what this infection was. The girl started getting those black bruises too, which didn't help his worries.
"Why didn't you tell me, you moron?" You sobbed into his chest, making him bite his lip.
"God, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, love. I didn't want to worry you-"
"But you did." A crack in your voice. "So much, Leon. And now I'm even more worried. Do you even know what it is? Why do you have it? Where did you get it from? Is it contagious? Fatal?" Questions kept pouring from you mouth, ones he hardly had answers to.
He took your face in his hands again, trying to calm you down. "All I know for sure is that they are not contagious. I found out this morning. Sherry and I belive it must be a virus, but we can't confirm nor deny that claim."
"Sherry? What does she have to do with this?" Dread settled in your stomach as you realized. "She got this too?" He nodded quietly, looking down at your now interwined hands. You loved that girl like your own daughter, and you knew Leon cared about her the same way.
"I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon to look into it. Try to find ome answers. Maybe a cure." He said the last part quietly, not wanting to give you or himself hope.
You covered your mouth, quiet sobs escaping you. "God, Leon. Why didn't you say anything sooner. Fuck." You inhaled sharply, wanting to cry from a mere glance at him. This could be your last night with him and you were scolding him. Pulling yourself together, you said sternly. "You will return home, Kennedy. I don't want any other option to happen. Got me?"
Despite the saddness of the moment, he couldn't help but smile at the bossy attitude you gave him. Hugging you and kissing your forhead, he said. "Yes, ma'am."
You sighed, enjoying the feeling of being back in his strong arms. Despite the throughts and dread creeping on you, you had to be strong, had to give him the strenght he needed to return back home to you.
Turning your head and kissing his lips, you whispered against them "Promise me."
He took you in his arms, making you squeal, kissing you while walking up the stairs. "I promise, Mrs Kennedy. Now how about I apologize for these past few weeks, hm?"
Synopsis: Leon has always wondered why women enjoy putting wet sheets of paper on their faces and slices of cucumber on their eyes. Or why they prefer gossiping all night while a movie plays in the background. Or why they like to go on coffee dates and walk all day in the park. He never understood how would that be relaxing or fun, not until you showed him, anyway.

Leon never understood why girls enjoyed going out at cute cafes, buying flavoured ice lattes and then walking kilometers on end in the park, talking about the same subjects over and over again. The concept of sleepovers was even weirder to him. What do you mean you enjoyed putting a cold, wet piece of paper on your face and doing your nails while talking about the same subject you discussed during your outing? He couldn't wrap his head around these weird habits you had. Yes, he also went out with his friends (Chris or other colleagues), but his outings lasted a few hours, and they would sit at the bar and drink some beers, talk about work and then go back home. That was it! Well, after experiencing it firsthand, he could say he understood why you loved having sleepovers now.
One Saturday morning, he woke up at around 11 AM, ready to satisfy his idle curiosity. Your head was resting on his strong chest, his fine hairs tickling your cheek. One of his hands was playing with your hair, while the other one scrolled on his phone. You recently introduced him to Instagram Reels, and now he has become quite interested in the activity. He especially loved the funny cats and dogs videos that popped up, always laughing too loud and too much at them. Scrolling as he was, a promotional video for a newly opened cafe came up, and, as luck would have it, it was nearby your neighbourhood.
Kissing your head, Leon suggested 'How about we go there? Looks like a nice place?" That request came so out of nowhere, it made you look at him with a frown. Yes, you have been to cafes with him before, but that was at the beginning of your relationship. After you moved in together and after your marriage, you found yourselves longing to spend time in the comfort of your home, given that Leon was away so often.
"Sure?" You looked at him with a soft frown. Your husband smoothed it with his finger. "Where is this coming from?"
"Is it weird that I want to go out with my gorgeous wife?" He asked teasingly, an eyebrow raised as a smile played on his lips. You turned fully to him, both hands on his chest, holding you at a slight distance from his face.
You looked at him incredulously. "Love, I've known you for years, and you never proposed to go at a cafe so spontaneously. So?" It was your time to raise an eyebrow, and he just chuckled, putting his hands up in the air as if surrendering.
"Ok, caught me there. Listen, everytime you go out with the girls, or have those... Sleeping parties?" He frowned, not sure of the word.
"Sleepovers." You corrected and he snapped his fingers.
"Yeah, that. Whenever you have those, I always sit and wonder why is it so fun."
Your eyes sparkled as you understood where this was going, a mischievous smile playing on your lips. "Does Mr Kennedy want to have a sleepover with me?" You asked teasingly and he blushed.
"You know what I mean, hon. Just want to see what is so fun about it." You nodded with a smile, kissing his lips and patting his chest. "Well then, better get ready. I got a lot to show you."
*****
It wasn't long before Leon begun to regret his request. It was hot outside and he didn't want to buy an iced late or frappe (even though you did warn him he will regret his choice), instead choosing a bitter black coffee. The park was full of couples and children and dogs, which overstimulated him. He didn't know how he managed to expertly finish his missions but wasn't able to take a simple walk in the park. Although when he thought about it, it was easier to spot zombies than weirdos. Your presence did help him calm down, your hands in his fitting perfectly.
"So... What do you usually do when you are outside?" He asked hesitantly. Your thumb brushed the back of his hand as you smiled up at him. "We either gossip, talk about the current state of the world or are nostalgic. Usually, we jump from one subject to another. So, tell me, Mr Kennedy, got any office drama I should know about?"
*****
You realized your husband had quite the drama at work, and while walking in the park for hours, you had what you would call a successful gossip session. You could tell he didn't really understand the purpose of it or why it was so entertaining, but he didn't look too bored either, so you took that as a good sign.
On your way back home, you stopped by the grocery store to buy some ingredients to make cupcakes and all sorts of snacks for the movie you were going to watch. He was thrilled when you left him in the chips aisle to pick a flavour(he picked the sour cream and onion ones) while you went to look for cucumber and whatever else you needed for the cupcakes.
When you got home, it was time for dinner, so you ordered take out(as you always did when you had sleepovers -he wanted the whole experience, so he was going to get it). You decided to get sushi, which was delicious, and, after resting a bit, you went to the kitchen to make the cupcakes.
You could see Leon was having fun this time, more than in the park. Not because he loved cooking or anything, but because he followed you like a lost puppy and did whatever you told him to, always with a soft smile on his face. Whenever he got free of a duty, he would come behind you and sneak his muscular arms around your waist, kissing your neck and bitting your earlobe teasingly. At one point you got so caught up into your making out session, the cupcakes almost burned. But its alright, Leon managed to stop the oven in time and take them out before any serious damage was done.
While you let them cool, you dragged Leon to the bathroom, where you sat on the sink, your husband standing between your legs, hands on your thighs that he would often squeeze. You applied the cold face mask on his face, which made him purse his lips. He had his eyes closed as you softly moved your finger across his face to make the mask stick to his face. When you were done, he looked in the mirror and then glanced at you, unimpressed, as you began to laugh loudly.
"Love, what's this?" He pointed to his face.
"A face mask?" You burst out laughing again at his face.
"Are we planning to have a masked ball or something? Why the hell am I a tiger?" You bit your lip to keep from laughing again.
"If it helps with anything, me and the girls use these all the time."
"Oh, I have no doubt." He tried to stay serious, yet he failed when he saw you smile so much. It was contagious. Coming towards your face to peck your lips, you backed away, your back almost hitting the mirror.
"Oh, no, hon, not kissing until you take that mask off. It'll ruin my work. Do you know how hard it is to make those masks stick to your face?" He sighed in defeat and you handed him another pack of face masks, this one looking like a leopard.
He opened the pack(slowly, only after you told him that there was liquid in it, to which he looked at you in disgust) and took the mask out, wrestling with it, an angry(but cute) look on his face. You wanted to help your man, but he insisted he could do this by himself, so for the next 5 minutes you watched as he tried to unfold the mask, a laugh bubbling in your throat. After hundreds of swears and curses, he finally managed to get it right. He placed it softly on your face, pressing gently just like you did minutes ago.
"And done." He let out a relieved breath. You chuckled and caressed his hand, nodding in approval.
"You did good. We do this two more times and you'll be a pro at it." He rolled his eyes and lifted you by the waist, helping you get down from the sink counter. The two of you walked to the couch, where a plate of freshly cut cucumbers was waiting you. "Ok, darling, now lay on the couch stay as relaxed as you can." He did as told. "Close your eyes." You said as you placed cucumbers on his eyes and you could feel him tense. "Hon, they're cucumbers."
"Cucumbers?" He sounded so confused, you placed a kiss to his neck, then played on the couch next to him, covering your eyes with the vegetable too.
"Yes. They're good for dark circles."
"So... What do we do now?" He asked after a few minutes of silence. You chuckled and took his hand in yours, caressing his bicep.
"We sit like this for 10 minutes, then remove the mask and cucumber, massage our face a little bit, then wash it." You explained and he hummed.
"And then what? We eat the cupcakes, no?" You chuckled at that and nodded, although he couldn't see you.
"Yup. And after that we pick a movie to watch and eat chips."
"Well, that sounds fun." He said and managed to relax, actually enjoying the cold mask on his face and the feel of cucumbers on his eyes. He almost fell asleep when you awoke him minutes later, smiling at you when you removed the slices from his eyes.
A few minutes and a make out session later, you sat back down on the couch, remote in hand, cupcakes and chips played out on a plate. You snuggled up into his arms, his lips pecking your hair, chin resting on your head.
"So, did I satisfy your curiosity about girl nights?" You asked, eyes on the TV, hand caressing the bicep around your shoulder. He hummed, the sound vibrating in his chest.
"As much as I thought I'd get bored, I have to be honest, love, you surprised me. We should do this more often. Maybe minus the walk in the park in such a hot day with so many people around." You laughed and kissed his neck, nodding at his request.
