Rihanna makes HER-story again by being the first black designer to have a label as part of the LVMH conglomerate (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton ..bih.).

According to The Gaurdian, “The title of the venture is Project Loud France – named in honour of the singer’s fifth album, Loud – and it has around €60m (£50m) worth of investment split between Rihanna and the conglomerate, which also owns Louis Vuitton, Celine and Christian Dior. Rihanna will be a 49.99% shareholder.” 

Investing about 3 million euros a “match” of 30 billion from LVMH. MATCH?! GIRL.

WELL DESERVED. Let’s not foregt she didnt just get this deal because of her beautiful face, hypnotizing eyes and lovable personality. She put in work. First with her FENTY X PUMA collabartive deal in 2015, she sold out before an hour hit. I know cause I was on there trying to buy.. I got my creepers! But if we’re speaking numbers she increased Puma’s profits by 92%. 

Let’s jump to just last year, came thru and dominated the beauty industry with her beauty brand Fenty Beauty, first brand to have 40-50 diverse shades of foundation to meet every woman needs! Which apparently made 100 million (100,000,000 in case ya’ll neeed to see the 0′s) in revenue within 40 days. 

Then came back with a double whammy.. Savage x Fenty. Her diverse, body positive lingerie brand. Haven’t picked anything up from that..yet! Let’s not forget her endorsements with STANCE, MAC cosmetics, her perfume brand etc. 

Point is, Robyn Fenty is A BUSINESS GAWD. 

She aims, shoots and succeeds. I’m so proud of her, obviously.

Degree having days OVER?!

These days you can get 4 years of education in just a matter of months, especially in tech industry. With boot camp opportunities and scholarships, after 3-6 months you can come out as fully polished software developer. Yea, sucks for those of us just before the wave that spent 4 years through gruesome theory to get Comp Sci degree. And out of work due to “No experience” - unless you were one of the smart ones who worked and interned during your undergrad career. THANKS MOM!

Anyway while this rule has always been soaring throughout the tech world, recently non-tech companies have caught on to this trend and are now eliminating the need for degrees in their company intakes. This DOES NOT mean to drop out, do not use this as excuse as a cop out for not not studying for midterms (mmhmm.) this also doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go to college. I’ll always be an advocate for continued learning.  If I had to do college again, I would … not in the way I did but I would still willing get my degree. There are still advantages to having one.

This just means if you’re currently looking to work for some of the nations top companies without a degree, here’s your chance. IF you have EXPERIENCE. Don’t forget that part!

Crypto Exchange Says It Can't Repay $190 Million to Clients After Founder Dies With Only Password

Canadian crypto exchange QuadrigaCX says it cannot repay most of $190 million in client holdings after its 30-year-old founder Gerald Cotten, the only person who knew the passwords to its “cold storage,” unexpectedly died in India in December 2018, Coindesk reported on Friday.

You know, when I first started learning about cryptocurrency this was one of my primary questions when learning about cryptocurrency. Perhaps, I jinxed it. There so many questions here though. Like:

Did he not know he was dying? Why didn’t he set up a trustee situation? 

Why are people investing in bitcoin and not doing research on how to maintain their accounts/money? It defeats the purpose, should’ve just stayed with the bank.

Day One of 30 Day JavaScript Challenge

This one was pretty easy.. took me less than hour to redo and add my own touches. I was pretty much boosted up off of coffee at 3 in the morning (best time to be working in my opinion) - its added to my GitHub so you can check out the code there.

Life & Death

Is it up to us whether we live or die? 🤔

This is a question i’ve been asking myself for a minute.  It came up again as I was listening to an interview with the late and great Lisa Left Eye Lopez on Tupac's “sudden” death.  She mentioned that there are percentages of people who are lost in this world (85%), people who know what's up and why they’re here and want to tell everybody (5%), and then they're people who do know but don’t want other people to know (10%).  She believed that he was here on a mission (I mean at this point who doesn’t though) and that if he really wanted to stay he would’ve pulled through and stayed. 

I’ve always had thoughts on that.  I’ve been in “seen the light” situations that I could’ve easily died from - and I remember every time LITERALLY saying “Nah, I’m not ready” or “This is not how it ends” - and I’ve LIVED every time!  I’ve always wondered if that's what saved my life.  I’ve also lost loved ones to diseases and slow deaths, and to be honest they all let go.  They all said the words “I’m ready to go” or “I just want to die."  They decided it was over! 

Which is why when people that have had their lives taken, I always wondered don’t they also have a choice in the end?  Did they make their choice ?  Or was the choice made for them ? When does fate intersect ?  Because that also has to be factored in.  If that was the way they were supposed to go out, did they know ? Was it by surprise ?

I wonder what percentage I’m in.  People have always told me I’m playing lost but I’m actually not.  Truth is, I do actually have this feeling I subconsciously know why I’m here and when I’ll go. Clearly! I’ve always said I felt like I’ve lived before.  Which also means I’ve died before!  I’m just a little lost in THIS life… maybe ?  I don’t know … 😩 I am doing the work to figure it out so I’ll give myself an A for participation 👏🏾 🅰️..... yes, i give my myself kudos (hair flip)

A book suggestion that had me really wondering and thinking was "Wild Seed" by Octavia E. Butler. I haven’t finished it yet but its a good read, kind of in the realm of these topics. I’ll probably dive deeper as I continue to read...
