Imam Ibn Rajab said : 

 The days of Eid are days of thankfulness, seeking forgiveness and pardoning others.

Oh, how I regret what I neglected regarding Allāh.

و إذا حَدثُوكَ عن سَيئة فُلان ، فقُل : غَفرَ الله لنا و لهُ “ و لا تَزِد

From the supplications the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم taught his Ummah: .

.. اقْضِ عَنَّا الدَّيْنَ وَأَغْنِنَا مِنَ الْفَقْرِ “

(O Allaah) help us pay off our debts and protect us from poverty. ”

Your deen is never ever gonna be perfect and you’ll make mistakes and commit sins but just keep going and trying and turning to Allah because He is the most merciful

“The one who tells malicious gossip to you will tell malicious gossip about you.

إلَيكَ إلـهُ الخَلْـق أرْفَــعُ رَغبَتِي *** و‘نْ كُنتُ يَا ذا المَنّ والجُودِ مُجْرِما ‘To You, the Creator, I raise my longing, And even if I am, O possessor of kindness and generosity, an evildoer, a criminal

فمَا زِلتَ ذا عفو عَن الذنْبِ لَمْ تَزُلْ *** تَـجُـود وتعـفو منةً وتَكَرُّمـــا You are and still remain the only One who can forgive sins, You grant and forgive out of Your benevolence and generosity

This is one of the most comprehensive and beneficial supplications, for it begins with a supplication for that which will please his eyes and bring joy to his heart: the uprightness of his family members and progeny in their worship, their character, their manner of interacting with others, their livelihoods, their good behavior to their parents, and so on.

One reason why I don’t take social media serious at all is we get the ‘reminders’ everyday, we read the Qur’an and we come across ahadith. The problem is us ‘not doing’. You can read a 100 books but if you’re not putting that knowledge to use, it’s practically useless. It’s not like knowledge is rare. With a few clicks, you can get the whole Qur’an and the tafsir on your screen, you can get all the ahadith and other works but we don’t make it practical by living what we’re reading. That is the scary thing about social media. Being warned but not heeding to it.

Do not attribute “your wordings” or “your interpretation” of the Hadeeth to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

Shaikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan:

It is not possible that you can (correctly) act upon a Hadeeth without understanding its meaning; and nor is it allowed for you to interpret it from your own when you don’t understand its meaning. Don’t say: “the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said such-and-such and this is what it means”, till you understand the correct meaning, that which the… reliable scholars have affirmed (and explained). So you should not attribute to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم except the wording, do not attribute to him صلى الله عليه وسلم your own interpretation; and that too only those narrations which you came to know about their authenticity.
