Week 18.3
Lazers and more lazers. As I have watched this folm, I have come to realzie that lazers seem to be a prime option of attack for the robot. Below is a lazer beam sound that I created in logic Pro. Once again, Im not sure if i am going to stick with this sound for right now. I do have to mess with it a bit inside logic and see what I can do. its not a bad option or anything, but i feel like it should be a bit heavier sounding to match the size of the robot in the film.
Week 18.2
The robot in this film is being a bit tricky for me. Currently, i am trying to figure out what kind of sound I would like for the main robot to have, as a sort of “standby” mode. Ive been trying big bulky sounds and ideas and what not but they all fall short to what I would actually like to see for this film. Below ia the video of the current idea of the robots static background sound. I think it may be a bit to much and I may decide to go with just recording a giant fan. I think that may work a bit better. Check it out nonetheless.
Week 18.1
The woman in the film Troika isn't that much of a big talker. She's one that is more about actions and less about words. But that dosent mean that she shouldn't be payed attention to and given some character. In the film, she dosent actually say anything on screen. So since she never says anything on screen, I decided to follow just that. She wont really have any dialogue but she will have laughter, crying, weeping, panting, anger etc... She is going to be speaking through the sounds of her body and nothing else. She will have no real dialogue. Below is the video too the womans grunting. These can be used as acccents for hits and taking hits for the lady in the film. Check it out.
Week 19.4
Lastly, I wanted to show you what kind of foley sounds I have been collecting for the fight scene. Wallets, Soft bags, Couches, open hand, closed hands were just some of the creative ideas that I had to use when thinking about this. Now while im not 100% sure set on it. The video has various different sounds for the hits. Specifically for the girl more so, But all of these things can be manipulated and edited to my specific need.
Week 19.3
Rocks, rubble, sliding of rocks and the falling or rocks or pebbles. Now for this film, I see this being a major point in the foley for the film. Since they are fighting on some sort of rock or planet, it looks like there is alot of gravel and rocks that are around. So it only makes since to have some good quality rocks and pebbles moving around as the fight scene continues. Here is some foley of just some various rock sounds that I recorded for the film. I believe there are 4 different samples of the foley in the video.
Week 19.2
Robots, robots and more robots. Im finally getting the sounds correct for the scale I need for certain machines in the film. The sound that you are about to hear is a confusing one, but can be manipulated. I was thinking of using it as a possible robot communication sound or as a robot elimination sound. There are still more intrict parts to the sound design, but, im just trying to figure out if this sound could work with.
Week 19.1
Sorry about all the moving around and time mix ups. But im still here and am still working on the animation “Troika”. Currently, I am now soley working on the foley side of the film. Within these next four post for the week, theres going to be different links to sound snippets of some foley and sound layering. Ill start it off, with one more use of sound design, music omposition. This is a Ghostly Voice/Song that I am using within the animation.
Week 17.4
Pads, pads and more pads. When I go back through and listen to what i have as far as music goes, I will think about getting rid of or keeping it if I feel it is to much. I believe this sound almost creates a reverse like effect. A interesting concept, but not sure If I would roll with this for sure.
Week 17.3
What you are looking at is another sampled or hidden sound that i found browsing through logic. Basically its just a huge synth vocal pad that I adjusted the parameters around to. It works well with some intense moments in the animation.
Week 17.2
This is some more music ideas that I have decided to test out. Im not sure If I like it myself but with the scene it does fit. Obvisously there are going to be more layers and instruments with it. But for now, if needed, I believe that I could make it work.
Week 17.1
This is just some more sneak peaks of the sound design for the film troika. This is some music composition ideas for the big fight scene that the two characters have. It is just a rough idea and rendition. It will be quantized and expanded on, but its a good concept I think for right now.
Week 15.4
This is the just one of many processing chains that I have going on with certain sounds and instruments in the project. A problem that I need to address is space and CPU. I need to start finalizing certain sounds so that I can continue to make progression on the project but at the same time not having issues with my computer. The pic above or below shows the Delay, EQ, Compressor and Reverb that I was using,

Week 15.2
this is a picture of what I was talking about. When I first loaded up this plugin, I was expecting to hear some standard drum kit sounds. But as I found out; there is a drop down menu that gives me access to another world of potential sounds for the film. Next week all four post will feature snippets and video to go along with the video. You never know what you will find with just some stock or external instruments.
Week 15.1
Below or above is a picture of just some of my mix window. Currently I am working with various drum kits within logic. Normally, you would think that drum kits wouldn't have certain sounds. Ill show you what I mean in later posts but I will reference this one. For now, you can see just some of the processing that I am using to get and create certain sounds.
Week 14.3
Limiters, EQ’s and compressors were also being single out for my editing this week. Just worked on some overall balance with the mix and with automation to give a more epic or suspenseful vibe to it. Screenshots will be coming soon to follow up with these post as well as a 4th and final one tomorrow. (8/30/17)
Week 14.2
Unfortunately I do not have any screenshots of any of the light work that I did do this week but I will update these post accordingly with the proper media displaying the project. I worked on cleaning up the EQ’s in the mix for better clarity and less muddiness for clarification purposes. More so for the newely added instruments and sounds.
