KHUx reference - medal types & the sell screen
i’ve seen a lot of questions about what the duckling medals, merlin medals, moogle medals etc. are used for, and hopefully i can help clear things up a bit!
basically, there are four types of medals in KHUx:
combat
synthesis (the ducklings, cid, etc.)
evolution (cheshire cat, merlin, fairy godmother, etc.)
munny (moogles)
the combat medals are the ones you’ll be loading into your decks, and make up the majority of your album. these are pretty straight forward.
the other three types cannot be used in combat but are instead support medals.
synthesis medals are there only to be used in synthesis (合成). (duh, shanna.) some of them (the ducklings) give huge amounts of exp compared to any other medal type, especially if you feed them to a medal of the same element. others do things like attach skills (scrooge), raise attack/defense (chip & dale) or lower medal cost (cid).
evolution medals are medals that you’ll need when you want to evolve a medal into the next rarity (rarity levels range from 1-star to 6-star, or as i like to call them, vanilla bronze, bronze with heart, silver, fancy silver, gold, and PLEASE CHILL). the requirements are fixed between rarity levels.
munny medals are ones that literally just exist for you to sell off for that $$$. i was super hesitant about it at first because like the very first one i got was a 6-star and i was like ‘no way i’m selling this, it’s so rare’ but seriously, just sell them. that 6-star moogle nets you like, 35k.
anyway - where does the medal/sell menu come into this, you ask? you can see the purposes of all these medals there! when you’re viewing them, you’ll see that for some of them the level of the medal will alternate with some yellow text. this yellow text indicates the purpose of that medal:
you can also see that the greyed-out medals have yellow text as well - that just says that they’re in your deck so you can’t sell them. (you can also lock your medals to make sure you don’t accidentally sell or synthesize it; just tap one and press the lock symbol in the top right corner!)
and there you have it! if you get a new medal that you’re not sure what the purpose of is, the yellow text in the medal menu (メダル一覧)/the sell screen (orange button saying メダル売却 on the top left of the medal menu) might help. (or feel free to submit a screencap to me!)
the sell screen itself is pretty intuitive, i think, but i hope this helps clear some things up!
as always, if you have any questions just shoot me an ask, and have fun playing khux!
