Reyes raised a brow, listening to the girl. "Quite the bold statement," he replied, unable to hold back his amused smile. "You're going to hate me. I can't deal with warm wine. I'm not really a big wine drinker to start with but making it warm is weird to me. The same as warm juice, can't get away with it."
"When i say things, i like to make an impression." She smiled gently, waving her hand at the stranger. "Ok... do you hate joy?" She lifted the wine to her lips. "It's perfect on a day like this, the wind is insane... I don't know how half these stalls are staying open. I think there could be a storm coming."
Chrysta really did enjoy having her sister here. They were different in some ways but they had always been close, she seemed to find it easy to be in her company. She smiled, taking the drink and instantly having a sip. "Hmm, good," she replied to her. "Oh, they so lied. Like, I moved to Scotland for uni and it never happened for me. And the guys I have dated, definitely did not own a castle."
Khloe kept her cool most of the time, but around Chrysta she couldn't help but smile. "God... i'm moving back to York. Or maybe somewhere exotic... i don't know... Like Utah." She laughed at herself. "But i guess this little festival is pretty... or whatever."
The blonde hated the cold, the dark mornings and the way the icy air bit at her skin. Though she couldn't deny how beautiful it all looked and the fresh smell. That made it all worth it. Camera around her neck, she snapped pictures of the residents as they bought food and took part in the town's many winter activities. She stepped back from the tapestry, a smile on her face as she took a picture of it.
"How cool, huh? Just everyone coming together for this? So many people and generations in one place," she said to the person beside her.
The Atwood parents had worked hard to raise two women who clearly enjoyed the company of people. Although Khloe was different to her sister, she did thrive off of the buzz of social events. She enjoyed the idea of the town coming together and it definitely made her having so few friends in town a little easier. She held a drink out from the stall towards her sister.
"Pretty cool." Her eyes were scanning the faces in the crowd. "Although i've yet to find my cute scottish guy with a castle... I think netflix lied to me."

HAVING FINISHED CONSULTS EARLY THAT MORNING, Nic had every intention of heading down to the festival before lunch. That plan was stopped in its tracks but none other than a laundry list of charts. Charting appointments took roughly an hour per patient on a good day, however, with a thirty kilo dog on his lap it took ages. By the time he was finished, his neck had a cramp the size of a small horse, he was starving, and the commotion in the streets drifting up to his loft announced that he had missed his self-imposed deadline. Hastily shrugging into a coat and collecting his dog's leash, Nic started down the stairs.
At the first whiff of fresh air, Douglas darted out onto the pavement below, paying no heed to whatever or whoever might be passing by. â Shit, sorry about that, heâs been cooped up all afternoon. â The apology was out before he reached the last step, kicking the door shut behind him before turning to the person his dog had effectively blindsided.Â
â Let me get you something â a pie, on me. â
Despite being thoroughly annoyed about being trampled, Khloe couldn't think of a better thing to be trampled by then an adorable dog. She knelt down, her knees touching the ground as she ruffled the dogs neck, helping to calm him. She laughed. "It's fine. Honestly... this still isn't the worst way i've started a day." And she wished that that wasn't true.
She stood up her eyes glancing up at the man finally. "I... definitely won't say no to that." She added a signature flirty smile towards him. "I am Khloe. By the way..."
"Do you know what will never be wrong?" Khloe lifted her mug to her lips, closing her eyes as the liquid reached her tongue. "Warm wine." She made a noise closing her eyes. "Seriously, it's better then sex." She lifted her glass to a cheers to the person beside her. "Happy FrostFest! Can i get you one of these?"
Character face claim:Â Meghann Fahy
Age:Â 30
Gender & Pronouns:Â Cis woman, She/her
Length of stay in Thistlefield:Â 6 months
Place of birth:Â York, England
Occupation:Â Journalist (Unemployed)
Three personality traits:Â Tenacious, empathetic, determined
Khloe was born in York, the eldest of two sisters. Khloe was always a vocal child, outgoing and loving to talk she was always complimented for being the âbubblyâ child in class. Although her grades didnât always suggest an aptitude for academia, Khloe thrived on extracurricular activities and was always doing something after class.
After school, Khloe followed her dream to be a journalist. Although this was probably fuelled by an unhealthy obsession with Gilmore Girls. The older she got, the more she realised she was probably more of a Lorelai then a Rory.
Khloe is good with people, often able to talk them into anything. Although good with words, she struggled to get a big city journalism job and eventually moved home to her parents.
Returning to her teen jobs, stacking shelves, making coffees didn't fill Khloe with joy. And so she packed her bags and landed on her little sister's doorstep in Thistlefield. Khloe is hoping to make a new life, find a new job and maybe herself in the process. Khloe has been running a local podcast and blog from her sister's living room. Although it isn't currently making any money, it is starting to gather quite a bit of attention.
Romantically, Khloe has never settled down and although she's often 'seeing' someone, she never stays with anyone longer then a few weeks. With very few friends in Thistlefield, her usually thriving social life has quietened down. But Khloe is always ready to throw herself into town events and socials to meet new people.
Jonah gave a soft smile, despite their differences, he loved his younger sister. And even if he didn't always say it, he was proud of her. He gave a laugh, nodding. "Who said I was joking? It was a genuine offer, you look so appropriately dressed to hike," he replied with a grin. "I mean, you are younger than me and have heel experience. That is an advantage over me."
"I can tell from that smile, that you knew exactly what i'd say." She nodded in the direction of cabin coffee. "I will buy you a coffee though. If you can spare the time?" She smiled again. "So the heels are my penalty for being young? Somehow that doesn't seem fair. "
"There's a free seat here if you wish, I'm just on my own so as long as you don't mind company you're more than welcome to join." Ingrid knew how frustrating it was to need a seat and find none so she thought nothing of gesturing to the seat in front of her even if she was unsure that the person nearby would need it. "Always so busy in here isn't it?"
Khloe sighed, but opted to sit with the woman rather then stand alone. She didn't feel like talking much right now and she was scared she was going to get dragged into something. It was one reason she had avoided cabin coffee. "Yeah... although it has it's advantage. Don't you ever just feel like i don't know... drifting into a crowd? It can feel rare in this town."
The sun was out and Jonah didn't want to waste the day. It wouldn't be too much longer until winter hit so he decided to get an early start. Heâd closed the store that morning and packed his stuff ready to go for a hike. Fixing his bag on his back, he looked up as he saw someone approaching. âGood morning. I was just about to go for a hike,â he said, pointing in the direction of the old trail. âYou interested?â
Khloe had already collected her coffee and she'd dressed well for a business meeting. Since the sell of the campsite, those were becoming more and more frequent. She was starting to gain her confidence even if sometimes she felt like she had no idea what she was doing. When she caught her brothers eyes she gave him a mocking smile back. "Ha ha. You're funny." She pointed down to her shoes. "You joke, but I would still beat you to the top, even in these shoes."
the time to redecorate for the season had finally come and jude could not have been more thrilled to be able to take down the spring decorations and replace them with the fall ones; his favorite season had always been fall. there was something soothing about watching the colors of the season change with time. jude was in the middle of hanging up some orange christmas lights that had little pumpkins hung up on every other bulb, a job probably more fit for two. all they needed was to be able to get the thing cord around a small hook on the corner of the front of the shop and it was proving to be a difficult task. jude silently cursed himself for not moving the ladder a smidgen closer, but it was too late now, he was also scolding himself for not having asked a friend for help.
he heard the found of footsteps approaching, which caused an instant little tug at the corner of his lips, âhello, down there!â he cheerfully greets, offering a warm smile to the new comer, "quick question, do you think i would be able to make it if i swung this cord over to that hook there?" he points over to it, "as you can see...i did not really think this through."Â
Khloe was always trying to get new ideas for her place, but she wasn't the most ambitious. She loved colour, but that didn't exactly always look good on walls. She was lost in this thought when the person spoke to her and she wasn't totally sure what she had actually been asked, but she nodded and took a sip of her pumpkin spiced latte. "Sure, why not?" She nodded, adding a supportive tone. What harm could come from anything if she said it in a positive way and with a smile? She had no idea of the man's plans with the cord.
She popped her latte down on the top of a pin, rolling her sweater sleeves up. "You want me to hold this ladder for you?" She put one foot at the bottom, holding it firmly with two hands. "Last thing we want is for you to wreck your window on the way down. You've done a great job, it looks sick!"
Spotted on the ferry is KHLOE CAIRNS, they were mistaken for MEGHANN FAHY. KHLOE is 33 years old, they identify as Cis Woman (She/Her). They are currently spending their time as PINE FALLS in Maple Creek and are residing in RADIO CO-HOST/NEW OWNER OF THE BREEZE INN. In 2008 they were 18 years old and FAMILY ONCE OWNED THE CEDAR CAMPGROUND. On the island, people say they are A PERFECTIONIST but UNRELIABLE.Â
Khloe was born in Maple Creek, the youngest of three children. Khloe was always a vocal child, outgoing and loving to talk she was always complimented for being the âbubblyâ child in class. Although her grades didnât always suggest an aptitude for academia, Khloe thrived on extra-curricular and was always doing something after class.
Khloe has moved around Maple Creek, but has always lived there. She worked as a teen at the campsite and attended it herself as a child. Khloe earnt a good amount of money from her share in the campsite and spent her younger years waiting tables and making coffees. She even helps on the local radio station, which she got from family connections. But after the sell of the camp, she's been attending business school at night. Although she's a little embarrassed about that. After the sale of the camp, she brought a small property in town at was once the 'breezey inn' she isn't totally sure what her business will be yet, but she wants something for herself.
Khloe has had a colourful love life but has never believed sheâs met the one. At this point, she doesnât really believe that there is one. Khloe was engaged a few years back and left the groom at the altar.
"Oh god, mine does. Honestly, if I don't have caffeine by mid morning, I am not functioning," she laughed, shaking her head at herself. "I would love to do that with you. I love antique stores. And any heavy lifting, I could ask my brother to help," she said, feeling like helping her friend would be a nice change from only thinking about work and her father. "I mean, if any town was going to have a hidden magic coffee witch, it would be this one."
"I can't imagine you not functioning, you always seem so together." She smiled, folding her arms. "Is he cute?" She raised a brow inquisitively. "But i'd love the help, seriously. Even just the company." She tilted her head. "I am considering changing my decor to practical magic chic."
"Ah, so modest. You don't even know my type." He grinned back at her, refusing to let her win. "I'm not doing anything. You're the one who doesn't listen to people." He smiled, looking down at her hand. "Confused about what?"
"I don't need to. I'm everyone's type." She put a hand on her hip. "I was distracted and for good reason, but now i am interested." She coughed slightly. "Shit?"
"You're that immune to it now, your body just accepts it like water," she laughed gently. "To be honest, you and me both." She smiled as she listened, giving a nod of her head. "I could totally see you doing that. And I mean, that is perfect. You're putting two things together then. Coffee and sweet snacks. Your decor is already beautiful. Get some more seating, I would love to hang out in there," Pip reassured her. "Maybe. Imagine, if he is some secret dealer that lives in the caves. His hidden source."
"My body does worse without caffeine, then with it." She nodded in agreement. Her smile softened as Pip reassured her, it was the confidence boost she needed. "You're right about the seating though... maybe i need to hit the antique stores. Try to find something that could be painted." She did have a knack for finding old things and making them look new. "A hidden coffee source, a magic coffee witch that lives in the trees. Oh my god, what a mood."
"Do you think I haven't said no to a cute woman before in my life?" he asked with a laugh, enjoying winding her up. "I did want to tell you, you didn't listen. That ship or shit has now sailed."
"Not a woman this cute." She pointed towards herself, her eyebrows wiggling playfully. "Now you're just cutting off your... what's that saying?" She asked, distracted once again. "Shit? No come on, i'm confused again. Tell me." She reached out, jabbing the man.
Cailan clicked his tongue, giving her an amused smile as he leaned forward. "Hmm, too bad isn't it." He pouted back at her. "No, life is shit sometimes. And you don't listen and you don't get to know the story."
Khloe smiled, tilting her head and trying her best to look cute. "That is not what you said. No look at me i'm all cute and trying to listen to you now." She batted her eyelashes. "You want to tell me."
"I mean, I could've drank it but I just thought, I'd be bouncing against the walls. I need to pace myself." She let out a laugh. "Oh the enemy?" She sat beside her, almost cradling her own cup between her hands. "You were once winning the coffee game? I mean, who knows where this town gets their beans."
"I don't even think my body feels caffeine anymore, i've built up such a resistance to it." She paused. "I don't know if it's resistance or co-dependency." She half laughed that the idea. "Yeah... with the bakery. I'm trying to make it more of a... coffee shop boujee place to be you know? but my coffee sucks compared to this." She held the coffee up in one hand. "The bean dealer..." She sighed. "Do you think they'd share their source?"
