"Not dating or having sex isn't even a source of discrimination in real life-" How many rights and benefits are tied up in marriage contracts though? How much of our economic and societal structure is built with the clear expectation that people couple up and support each other? Where's the security nets and affordable options for people who will never have a partner/spouse to take care of them? How many people save serious commitment only for people they have a romantic and sexual relationship with? How many people will unquestionably prioritize their sexual and romantic relationship above all other social connections in their lives? And where does that leave the people who don't want that at all, ever?
happy There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury day

“There Will Come Soft Rains”, Ray Bradbury
"Sophie's not allowed to be the mom friend that's icky to me! I don't like that!"
Sophie made her damn self the mom friend when she leaned across Nate to feel Parker's forehead for a fever and I will die on this hill
Also it works structurally with her role in the team, she takes advantage of the marks emotional state to manipulate them into self-destruction while with the team she apllys the same skills in reverse out of a genuine desire to help them and have real connections that want to connect the “real” her.
She mostly dose this with Hardison and Parker because with Nate it’s different he being to repressed and guarded despite his clear trust in her ability’s when splayed to others both marks and the team. With Eliot it’s different because he provides the same role of providing safety for the team including Sophie physically.

Don't get married; just dress like this to go grocery shopping
Gives Tuxedo Mask vibes.
The pathologization of anger needs to be talked about. What do you mean my therapist is telling me that there’s something “chemically wrong” with me because I am still angry about my mom DYING OF COVID.
of course I’m still angry? My mom and 1.3 million other Americans are dead and you want me to shoot sunshine out of my ass about it?
“But It’s been 3 years since she died, you have complex grief” yeah and she was on a ventilator for 11 days and she kept writing “I am scared” and “I don’t want to die” on a notepad over and over again. While you were still going out unmasked and unvaccinated and coughing all over each other, I was living a nightmare I couldn’t fucking wake up from. And every single day I’m reminded of it in the form of “haha wasn’t the pandemic such a wacky time haha” and “I’m not getting a booster you can’t make me 🤪 (nobody asked)” and “it’s not real they made the numbers up!!!”
“You’re not coping” Ok here’s the deal; I’ll stop feeling this anger when we have a national memorial (we don’t) or a cdc equipped to stop it from happening again (we don’t) or a population that takes a deadly disease seriously BEFORE it effects them personally (WE DON’T!)
until then, I’m pretty sure my anger is A COMPLETELY NORMAL HUMAN REACTION given the facts at hand
one of the best feelings tbh
