Finding out Hans Zimmer is a transphobe genuinely had me falling to my knees
Thank you blastybaku for explaining this!/gen
If you've ever heard a movie score and thought "holy shit, this is incredible", there's like, a 50% chance it was Hans Zimmer who composed it.
This is a pretty major letdown, ngl.
Anyways, fuck transphobes, which includes Hans Zimmer, apparently.
Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.
Although the president presumably has other things to do, heâs taken to counting trees in the park across the street from the White House.

The Trump administration announced in April that it would soon start offering a redesigned U.S. passport that would include a picture of Donald Trump, and late last week it followed through on those plans, unveiling a new passport that shows the president leaning forward against a backdrop of the Declaration of Independence. (The Republicanâs signature is printed beneath it.)
By way of his social media platform, the president told the public that the passport says, âWelcome, but be good!â It suggested that Trump might not fully understand what a passport is â theyâre given to Americans, not foreigners visiting the United States â though the use of his image and signature reflected his teamâs broader goals about adding to the presidentâs self-glorification agenda.
This is a spot from an italian estate agency (we are governed by the right-wing party)
The woman says "Ridiculous..."
If you want to spread it elsewhere, here's the official link
[Video Description: An ad with piano music over it all, showing an elderly woman in her home, knitting, when two younger men walk by her window, which catches her attention. She stares out her window at them as they kiss each other while walking, the old lady staring in disbelief. Cut to the old woman approaching a residence with a broom in hand, staring up at the second floor window where a small rainbow Pride flag is hanging. The old woman stares up at it and mutters "Ridiculo", before getting up on a ladder with her broom to remove the flag. Focus on the flag fluttering to the ground as church bells chime. The scene then cuts to the couple from before, approaching their home with grocery bags in hand before one stops and stares at the second floor, stopping his partner who then drops the groceries as he too stares up. It's then revealed that the small pride flag had been replaced with a gigantic, hand-knit pride flag. It then cuts back to the old woman's home, where a tin of rainbow-colored yarn sits on her table. The hands of the old woman are holding and fondly touching an old black and white photo of two young smiling women, leaning against each other. Cut to the old woman's face as she stares out with a look of happy pride on her face. At the end of the video, the name "Idealista" appears on screen, followed by "buon pride" along with a rainbow. End VD.]
One correction:
The old lady is not in her home. She is at work. She's meant to be what in Italian is called "la portinaia", aka a cross between a doorwoman and cleaner of a residential building. She's in her small "office" space, at the entrance of the building, from where she can survey the coming and goings of the inhabitants. It's a job that has mostly disappeared, but is culturally very clear to us as having the connotation of "potentially gossipy, one-million-percent judgmental woman who sees everything that goes on in the apartment complex, knows everyone and their secrets, and has Strong Opinionsâąïž".
In this case, thankfully, the Strong Opinionâąïž is that those two men are ridiculous with their teeny tiny flag for ants.
There's worse to come, folks. Strap in and stay strapped.
Activists accused of being part of antifa get long prison terms in case seen as test of Trumpâs crackdown on dissent
i like to pretend i already died and asked god to send me back to earth so i can swim in lakes again and see mountains and get my heart broken and love my friends and cry so hard in the bathroom and go grocery shopping 1,000 more times. and that i promised i would never forget the miracle of being here

Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.Â
So you know.Â
This might be the real one, yâall.
I could use some luck
actually pigs shouldn't be at pride even outside of uniform. fuck those guys
if you decide to become a police officer then that outweighs any other marginalised identity you can rustle up like. not sorry, who asked you to willingly become a pig
I have heard of black people warning their kids that the race of a police officer is cop and you should not expect solidarity from them. The same applies to other types of minorities.
The sexuality of a police officer is cop.
The gender of a police officer is cop.
When you become the enforcer and protector of capital, you are making the deal to be slightly favored by the system over others like you, in exchange for being its servant. Your solidarity is with the system that you serve, even if it hates you.
If you want solidarity with those the system hates, you cannot be the system's servant and defender.
Every person who becomes a cop thinking that they're going to make things better for their marginalized community has that beaten out of them real quick. If they hold onto that idealism after training, they quit being cops. Because that's a thing you can do, quit, when you realize that you will be an agent of harming your community in the name of capital.
If gay cops want to march in Pride, I expect their resignation letters pinned on their chests like the badge they used to wear. Anything short of that doesn't deserve to be there.
Same goes for military, honestly. Until you're out, your community is "soldier," no matter what other labels you adopt. A tool of state oppression.
Hey um??

licking you bee wanted your sweat. that second one was just a freak I think
Some bees collect fibres for their tiny nests! They are usually more polite about it though
"natural shedding is taking too fucking long get it together mammal" <- like that maybe. Bee has places to bee đ
when i was getting trained as a welder the guys started playing sneaky grabass with each other and with me. i almost hit a few people while holding dangerous tools in my hand because they wouldnât stop grabbing me from behind, then laughing that i âalmostâ hit them, so i finally had to go to the instructor and say, look, iâve had years and years of self defense training due the fact iâm a very small weirdo who is in legitimate danger of getting hatecrimed and at some point one of these guys is going to goose me again and im going to bury a wrench in his eye. get them to stop grabbing me, because i donât want to get kicked out for hitting people.
the next day i ended up punching someone in the face with a doughnut in my fist because she thought i was being a big fucking buzzkill who tattled to teacher about a harmless game, and, guess what, grabbed my butt. i got icing all over her hair. she complained to teacher...who let everyone know that this was why they werenât supposed to be playing grabass in the fucking shop.
anyway donât fucking sneak up on twitchy little queers with hypervigilance, it fucking sucks and youâre lucky if you get a doughnut to a face instead of a hammer.
given that this was a welding class, I was expecting this to end up so much worse
a good thread
This may be the best Pride merch I've seen from a major corporation.
Levi's said yes, actually. Assless chaps and a biker vest. Happy Pride.
And the assless chaps sold out on June 1.
They also specifically contacted members of the leather community, used them as models iirc, and donated $100k to Outright International. They talked the talk and walked the walk and put their money on it too. I don't really care that I can't afford and don't want this merch, I love to see my community getting the respect it deserves. Levi's said, "We make jeans which gays wear lots of jeans? Oh leather daddies? Let's call them."
I think Levi's donates to Outreach International every year too, as well as sponsoring pride events and other community support. They were offering Same Sex domestic partner benefits to employees in the 90s, and have been very public about their support for pro-lgbt legislation all through the 2000s.
So, you know, a giant corporation that walks the walk pretty consistently.

ID: 2 screenshots with info about student debt in America.
Image 1: screenshot of a news article from the Intercept. It says:
The origin of student debt: Reagan adviser warned free college would create a dangerous âeducated proletariatâ. In 1970, Roger Freeman, who also worked for Nixon, revealed the right's motivation for coming decades of attacks on higher education.
Image 2: screenshot of tweet by MC Squared (@/mcsquared34)
Student debt was created to instill discipline in students, when you graduate from college with >$100,000k in debt, it may take a lifetime to pay off, you have no choice but to enter the capitalist machine, all that stuff about hope or changing the world disappears really quick.
End of ID.
