we don’t need billionaires, we need a self-sustaining lesbian commune with a community garden and a cat rescue
Be Openly Scary
Society is scared of a lot of things it shouldn't be. A lot of those things can't be helped, a lot of those things don't hurt anyone, and a lot of those things are not what people even think they truly are.
So you know what?
Talk about your hallucinations, your delusions, your psychotic symptoms. Share things about your gender identity whether it be nonconforming, trans, xenogender or anything else. Scream about your nonhumanity and animal urges. Be open and unwavering about your systems existence, presenting as more-than-one wherever you want. Use and introduce your pronouns, even if people find them weird or offputting. Rock back and forth, pace, twitch and stim in any way you please. Wear things that reflect your identity in public. Get tattoos and body mods to your heart's content. Tell people about your personality disorders.
Don't make yourself small because others can't handle you. Be open where safe. Be you. Be scary.
Bring the light back to us…, Photoshop illustration by Ben J
On this Earth Day, I ask that each person who sees this steps outside, or looks outside their window, just for a moment.
Take the time out of your day to just feel the world around you. Hear the birds between the revs of cars and bustle of life, sees the trees or plants that stretch towards the sky, see the clouds or the clear blue above. Feel the rain or the sun or the wind on your skin.
No phone. No thoughts. Just feel.
Watch a documentary, even if its just a short clip of one on youtube, about some other part of the world, some animal you've never heard of, some plant that you never would have thought of. Recognise that there is so much beauty out there that you've never even considered.
For a brief moment, just connect to nature and care. Do not allow that care to turn to fear or anxiety, do not let yourself be lost to the hopelessness because hopelessness is useless. Instead, turn that care into hope, into a desire to do better, into a burning fire to keep the Earth alive.
Research one thing, just one thing, that you can do to live more sustainably. Doesn't matter if it's creating a whole new compost pile in your garden, or using a reusable water bottle. Find ways to fight back - voting, calling representatives, volunteering.
Find a local community - birdwatching, gardening, foraging, farmer's market, mutual aid. Whatever. Jump in to it with both feet and meet imperfect people who are trying, just like you and build the community you need.
Connect, not just to the world around you, but the people within it and find hope for a better future for our planet.
“Look at this scar. This is proof that I was once a mother. I gave up my body and my child for my country. There is nothing left inside me now.”
There will come a time, when our cities still stand, and their rulers are dead. When the cold take shelter from the winter sky in office buildings that have ceased to serve a purpose, and the old werehouses will be used for festivals, for people who wont have to wake up early for work the next day. And beautiful train tracks will roll over long abandoned highways. And the soft December snow will fall on an oil pipline, long abandoned and beyond use, that failed to burn it away, and a family of wolves will take shelter below the steel tube, not knowing what it was. And two girls will kiss, in the abandoned church of a god who hated them, a god who hasn't been worshipped in this city in living memory, and they'll say a soft prayer to Artemis, as they fall asleep below of broken statue of christ. And one day so many evils of the world, will be nothing more then a bad memory.

"Transition helped my dysphoria"
"Transition did not help my dysphoria"
Can we talk about the secret third thing, where transition made my gender dysphoria go away but revealed the yawning abyss of a much worse and uncomfortable truth which is that the gender I want to be doesn't actually exist and I don't like being human
you're here for a reason. and the best part about that? you're the one who gets to decide what that reason is. maybe you're here for the lemon sorbet and the puppy kisses and to tend to your rose garden. maybe you're here to be a friend. maybe you're here on some sort of divine mission, or maybe you're here to make people laugh. it's really up to you. just know that you wouldn't choose to be here in this human body, so far from home, for no good reason.
To all the trans people who see this tonight, no matter what happens, we will survive. Trans people will still be here 4 years from now and 10 years from now and 100 years from now and tomorrow. We have always existed and we always will. The world cannot unlearn about us; we are too public, too loud, too beloved, too present. Ill be here tomorrow. Please stay here with me.
If the brutality of gilded age capitalism came in physical stress upon the body, the brutality of 21st century capitalism can be defined by the extent that the company is able to claim ownership over a worker's life.
The genius fish who sent me back in time to save the galaxy from the man in the wall watching me do nothing but get my back blown out by the hot psych lady 24/07:
remember chat. the most hopepunk thing isn’t actually the quest for a better life and a better world. it’s actually to never give up the secret belief that both of those things are possible no matter what and to never let that fire go completely out
