Holly Ranch Adventures
Holly Ranch Adventures This week is spring break. Last weekend I decided to go to Tyler’s lake house with him and a whole bunch of our friends. I was nervous about going because it was a far drive for me (almost four hours) and I didn’t tell my mom. I knew she wouldn’t approve because of how long of a drive it was and that I would be going by myself in the dark, but it was something I wanted to do. Shoutout to Emily and Taylor for convincing me to go though!
I left after practice Friday around 6:30ish and honestly it was the scariest drive of my life. It was so dark and the roads were somewhat unstable and the highways were confusing. I almost got hit by an 18 wheeler, I ran over a huge black bag and it got caught on my wheels and I had to pull over on the side of the formerly mentioned dark unstable highway to fix it and I almost lost control of the car a couple of times but for the last hour and a half I talked to Laura on the phone and that made it a lot better. I love talking to Slora. I also saw deer in the lake house park thing and they were literally gorgeous. Anyway I got there around 10:30ish and the night was already crazy. I walked in to hear about fifteen intoxicated people screaming my name. It was so much fun. I hung out and talked with everyone and had to repeat myself to everyone, multiple times, that I wasn’t drinking.
There were so many people there. Line camp X2by2 friends: Tyler (London Ty Ty), Ricky (Icky), Mattie and Cody. Edgar (ChaCha) didn’t come and and neither did Colten (Pegasus) which made me sad. Insert crying face. Also Mattie’s friend Julia. Jared (The one Allie hates) was also there. Marcus Franklin (He makes me laugh. Not him, but his name). Those were all Baylor friends that I knew. The Zima twins, Sarah and Taylor and they’re friends, Emily and Grace. I literally am in love with those girls they’re so cool. The Baylor people I didn’t know: Kyle and Chris. Ricky’s Navasota friends: Abbey, Aaron and Will. Also really cool people. So the first night we went to sleep at about 4 or so. Me, Taylor, Sarah, Grace, Marcus, Cody, Chris and Kyle tried to sleep together in a full bed and it was working for like forty five minutes and then all the guys but Cody left which made it a lot more comfortable.
The next morning we woke up around 12 an sat around, ate and watched Basketball games. I went to subway with the Navasota kitten faces and Jared. I thought it was a fun time but I’m not sure they could handle my psychoness. They eventually warmed up to it. On the way back I made Will stop the truck so I could get out and try and pet a deer. I think it was scared of the truck or something cause it ran away while I was trying to chase after it. Weird. Marcus and Emily jumped in the lake, which was freezing and we watched John Tucker Must Die. Midway through that everyone went outside on the porch and started drinking. It was like 6 or so. By the time they all came in two hours later and started beer pong, most of them were sufficiently drunk. I had a dance party with the Zimas and just kind of just chilled and enjoyed being around all of my friends. We started playing Kings Cup at around 10. Most of them played with vodka and orange juice. I chose water. So after the game we played hide and seek which, with drunk people was a little too crazy. Will had laid down and kept saying he had never thrown up before but after having a self proclaimed 34 beers and an entire cup of vodka and orange juice I wasn’t so sure he was gonna survive the night.
I was right.
Duh.
After hide and seek, I was kinda concerted about him because he was still laying on the ground and so Tyler got him a bucket in case he threw up. I sat him up and kneeled behind him so he could rest on me and stroked his back and talked to him because he honestly looked like crap. Ricky helped for 2.4 seconds and then the next time I looked up, was upstairs making out and doing god knows what with Emily. Gooood.
I was sitting with Will and literally all of a sudden, for the first time in my life I actually knew what the word projectile vomit means. The first heave made it into the bucket. The second one did not. So immediately, being the calm, level headed, sober person that I was I did the natural thing.
I vomited too 😷.
I vomited in my mouth and then ran around the house looking for somewhere to throw it up. Omg it was literally disgusting and it smelled a thousand times worse. So Tyler was cleaning up some of the vomit, with a napkin might I add, even though he was drunk too and everyone one else was either passed out or laughing and going to watch Ricky and Emily make out. I stayed sitting with Will who would not stop vomiting. After a couple of minutes I was literally holding him up. Which normally would be fine but he was covered in his own vomit and was also a man of considerable size, with being 21 years old and 6’6. So I sat with him and kept him company for an hour. Aaron came out of the room (still drunk) and was just in the way talking all kinds of nonsense and really just didn’t help the situation at all (even though he was really funny).
Around 11, Chris made the decision that we should probably take him to the hospital and so we tried to figure that situation out. Will kept mumbling ambulance. No one but me could drive since I was the only one not drinking, and we would have to take Will’s truck since his was in the end of the driveway. Tyler, Marcus and Chris came with us and so they had to go through the struggle of picking him up, trying to make sure he didn’t vomit again, and getting him to the end of the driveway and into the truck in pitch darkness with two phone flashlights to guide them, me and Taylor holding wallets and keys and buckets and trying to get directions. Literally a mess. We got in the car and stated driving, while still looking for directions and come to find out, the nearest hospital was forty five mins away which was scary cause Will was starting to have trouble breathing and wasn’t getting any better. I had Chris hold my hand on the way to the hospital because I was literally terrified and all I wanted to do was call my mom but I couldn’t because I had lied to her about where I was. (which is why I generally never do it). We get to the hospital and sat in the waiting room pissed because Will was continually getting worse, and the nurses were literally just staring at us. Like I feel like when you see three people around a person telling him to breathe, that it’s an actual EMERGENCY. But I digress. They took him after about twenty five mins and we sat down. Tyler fell asleep and said he wasn’t feeling good, Marcus wasn’t in a good mood I general and me and Chris were just worn out.
1:30
2:15
2:50
3:30
So we say there until about 3:30 and Tyler got up and asked what was going on. The nurse said that they were putting fluids in him and would be done around 5:30. So we got up and went to go fine something I eat. What really upset me was that Marcus jumps in the drivers seat and wanted to drive. We all tell him no because he had been drinking earlier. He argues with us that he was fine and that I was tired so he should drive. We argued for a second but I said that if he was driving to give me my keys and phone because I wasn’t going. He huffed and puffed and eventually got out. He was pissed for the rest of the night. Cool.
We go to McDonald and get back and sit in the car until 5:30. So we headed back inside and the nurse said he would be right out so we jus kind of fell asleep.
At 6:30 Will finally came out and he was ALIVE!!!! We drove home and told him all that went down since he didn’t remember anything. We finally got back to the house at 7 in the morning and literally went straight to sleep. I was not a happy kitty the next morning because everyone had left without saying goodbye. Only me, the Zimas, Jared, Kyle and Tyler were left. We all left soon after we woke up and the drive home was so much better, it was actually enjoyable!
That was actually the perfect start to SB2K14 though. I had fun with people that I don’t get to hang out with much here on campus. I met a lot of really cool friends. I finally got to relax after mid terms and I got off campus for a few days.
Sweet tea, Water, and Good Vibes only, my friends. Until next time!
Focused on Faith with Kait
I had to make a separate post just on how God worked his magic this weekend. It was psycho. On saturday, Kait and I didn't even want to just go walking around Cameron Park. We wanted to go rollerblading or hammocking. We couldn't find cheap rollerblades and we didn't know who rented hammocks even thought many people told us you could. That's the first sign of God's glory. The next day after everything took place, Collin tells us you can rent hammocks in the SUB. We had searched online for an hour trying to find a place and we absolutely could not find anything.
Once at CP, I had looked up the weather noting that we had forty five minutes until sunset. We knew exactly how much time we had to get to the car before dark and yet somehow we took the wrong turn and didn't leave until 8:30
At night, we couldn't figure out which way the sign was telling us to go but when we back the next day, as soon as we saw the sign we realized you would only be looking at it from one direction, and it was clearly pointing on the trail that we dismissed as 'not-the-right-one'
If we didn't find the people behind us sketchy, we might not have ever pulled over by Emmonds and we might have followed them all the way to Lover's Leap and that would have actually been a tragedy.
One of the scariest things now for me to think about, is that if not for God, we would not have been safe under our tree. We thought it was so safe and big when in actuality, with us face timing and calling people and snap chatting, we were probably making ourselves so easy to find for anyone watching. I was so terrified that every time I looked back I would see someone walking towards us. We were so scared but so naive. And we thought we were being so quiet. Like that's all God right there. That hour under that tree? Unbelievable.
We relied on everyone to get us out: Edgar, John, A Park Ranger and finally, the cops. When the cops fell through we knew we had no choice but to walk. What is utterly psycho is that, driving back to the park in the dark gave me a panic attack. Seriously thinking about the eternal darkness of that place at night, honestly brings tears to my eyes. But somehow, someway, me and Kaitlyn got up and walked in the pitch black, thirty minutes back to our car, with our phone light, which would have only attracted someone to us .
The fact that every time there was a car, there was somewhere to hide. The railing only went for a few feet, but that's where we saw the first car. I had no time to communicate to Kait that we had to hide behind it. I just reacted, not even CONSCIOUSLY thinking about it and yet, Kaitlyn still ended up with me. That moment will forever awe me at God's perfect timing.
There had been recent rapes and assaults and harassing in the park and me and Kait, were able to find our way to our cars. To God be the Glory forever for that. I can't thank Him enough for that as a whole.
Who knows where that creepy ice cream truck was or if it was even a truck (thanks Allie kitty for scaring me to death with that theory). It couldn't have been on the trails or the road we were on since it was blocked off and yet we could still hear it clearly. That's the one thing about the night that in retrospect, scared me almost more than anything.
We noticed the next day that when we ran to the car, ours wasn't the only one in the parking lot. There were for sure, other people in there with us which is so scary and yet another way of how God protected us.
The fact that we still wanted to badly to return the next day is so weird but so perfect. The sunrise was a perfect relaxation period that we desperately needed.
I'm not sure if I would have wanted to actually keep the wallet part of my lanyard on there, since when it fell we would've heard it or not and then someone would have all of my cards. Or the fact that I always lock my car and the one time I didn't allowed me and Kait to get both of our wallets. God, God, God only allowed that.
The fact that God took and repressed most of the fear from us so that we could think straight and get to the car and only allow the fear in after we had been safely in the room for a couple of hours...Everyone else was freaking out but me and Kait logically made out way to our car. The human brain is also amazing for that, being able to have us calmly think through all of the situations we came across.
The fact that since 11 AM on Saturday, me and Kaitlyn had stayed awake, until around 2 Monday morning with one 20 min nap. And that we were able to handle the emotional, physical and mental stress of the weekend. Nothing but God
The entire weekend was just God speaking to us. Telling us that he could show us the most beautiful sights and all of his majesty. But that we could also experience great danger, that the devil is alway out to get us. But no matter what the devil has up his sleeve, the Lord will bring us through it and show us even more breath taking sights. The devil once again tried to ruin our high and deceive me into not telling my mom, wanting me to drive myself crazy with worry. The Lord, as always, showed us that he could make a way out of no way, that he could change things for us in a blink of an eye. That even when we thought there was no way out, even when He wasn't consciously on out minds, that he is always with us, protecting us. God can take us to the highest of highs, but he's also not afraid to take us to our low points. We just have to trust him to bring up back up out of it.
The Lord showed me more in this one weekend than I have ever learned in Sunday school. My heart and soul feel fuller than ever. Acro has been a big stress lately for both and me Kait and this weekend Acro was on my mind for two hours and when we lost to Quinnipiac, I felt almost nothing compared to what I had been feeling all weekend. Acro paled in comparison to the wonders of Cameron Park. Baylor paled in comparison to the wonders of Cameron Park. My worries about homework paled in comparison to the wonders of Cameron Park. My back problems paled in comparison to the wonders of Cameron Park.
I can't remember one instance while I was in Cameron Park that I was thinking of anything else than enjoying the beauty. Not one. My whole self was focused solely on the moment and being with my best friend and enjoying life.
God touched something in me that had been slowly being buried beneath all the material things and nonsensical worries. Friends, followers, retweets, clothes, money, popularity, admiration. All of those things and more have been a focus of mine for a while. But there are way more important things in life.
That's what God taught me with weekend. That's what God taught me and Kait in two days. In the highest highs and lowest lows if the best weekend of my entire life. I would not change a single thing. Not walking CP in the dark or losing my keys or waiting tell my parents. Not a thing. Not even my shalf being broken.
6,759 Days
I know you probably feel like I've beaten last night to death (and yes it was only last night, that may seem insignificant to you but it was a whole lifetime for me) but I really haven't. Last night I feel like I ranted and just got through the feelings I felt while I was in the moment. Looking back now, talking through it with Kait for hours, there was so much more underneath the surface. So much more. I almost feel stupid for writing this since anyone else reading this aside from Kait is never going to understand the magnitude of what we've experienced.
I had to stop in the middle of this post and call my mom. I cried on the phone for an hour with her over the beauty and majesty of this whole weekend. Y'all this is life changing and I wish everyone in the world would be able to experience this at least once. Like seriously
I've always been religious and ever since the ninth grade, I thought thatI was going to be the perfect Christian. Oh, how I was wrong. I want to start this off by saying that I've been alive for 6,759 days exactly. Six thousand, seven hundred fifty nine days. And every single one of those days, Ive fallen asleep and I've woken up. I'm eaten and gone to the bathroom. I'm smiled and frowned. I've sinned. Every single day. But out of all six thousand seven hundred fifty nine days, I've seen a sunrise only once. On, February 23, 2014 at 7:11 A.M. I saw the most beautiful sight ever. Better than babies or puppies. More beautiful than that new guy I like. More beautiful than cute little tumblr pictures that seem so perfect. And the thing that got me, was that I just got a brand new phone, one I've been waiting for forever. The iPhone 5s. It's the hottest phone out right now and I finally have it.
Yet even this phone of mine, this prized possession couldn't even begin to capture the beauty of that sun rise.
This morning started out so amazing. Me and Kait hadn't slept at all, just stayed up writing our other tumblr posts and talking and raving about how horrible that night was. Terrifying. Deadly. But for some unknown reason, we HAD to go back and see the sunrise. Everyone thought we were crazy for going back right after we just had the scare of our lives. We couldn't explain it. Still can't. We just HAD to. Completely life changing in itself. That sun rise was life, it was gorgeous, the birds were flawless the water was glistening, the wind was silent. It was me, Kait, nature and God.
We felt so good afterwards we decided to walk to our tree from last night. We were in a completely different park. The light made everything seem so calm and tranquil even when just hours before it seemed life threatening. Our tree was small, almost a sapling. I could fit my arms around the base of it. Last night though, with me and Kait sitting against it from 6:55 to 7:55 exactly, it was powerful, safe it was huge. That tree was our safe haven. That tree, both in the dark and in the light, was God.
After hiking for over an hour, we went back to the car. For some reason, I looked at Kait and said "Wouldn't it be funny if I didn't have my keys?"
I.
DID.
NOT.
HAVE.
MY.
KEYS.
I had taken the wallet part off and put it in the car. I kept the lanyard and the car key in my pocket. Why? I have no idea. We looked and looked and finally had Sarah pick us up. We watched the meet. I pretty much slept through it honestly and then went looking again with Marcus. Still no keys. I called everyone I could think of. Parks and Recreation. Cameron Park Zoo (the only lost and found in Waco apparently), The Police (three times today!), the Park Ranger (twice. They actually have a phone number. But I still have yet to hear from Kim aka Nancy whom I love) and almost no one could help. It was utterly ridiculous. The city of Waco is an actual joke.
The part that honestly confuses me, is why I was so terrified to call my mom and tell her. I had Holly break into my house to see if my mom had her spare key so she could MAIL it too me. Everyone kept giving me advice (Thanks so much Papa PQ!) and I kept ignoring it all. For some unexplainable reason, I didn't want to tell my mom until later.
When I finally mustered up the courage to do it, she wasn't mad at all. She told me I should've called earlier and honestly, I really should have. When my mom found out the park closed at midnight what did she and daddy do? Drive to Waco at 7 PM. Of courseeeee. Makes total sense. We got the car thank goodness and all was right in the Kingdom.
Cameron, Cops, Czech Stops and ChaCha's
Ok so before I dive into the ridiculousness of our day, let me start off by saying it was literally perfection at first. I got to sleep in and I woke up had brunch with Kaitface and then Allie's parents came over. She's in Connecticut at the meet (Go A!) and they were just here to fix her car. They took me and Kait out to lunch though, and it was really fun! I love me some Momma Williams. So then, me and Kait just laid around the room- well at first we were looking for hammocks (to go hammocking) or roller blades (for rollerblading) but alas, there was NOTHING. Sooooo, we decided to go for a nice stroll to Cameron Park.
Cameron
I had never been before and when I tell you that it it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been too. Like it's gorgeous. Also fun fact, it's like the second biggest park in America. Anyway we were hiking and taking pics and looking at the pretty scenery, Kait peed in the woods and so she's officially a thot in my book.
Also, before I go any further, it low-key upsets me that I'm not the only reading these anymore. I feel like my private blog have been sullied and violated by eyes that are not mine, so uh, I'd like to thank Kaitlyn Elizabeth Pecue for that.
Anyway back to Cam Cam P (aka Cameron Park, aka the Park of Death, aka you-might-die-here-but-at-least-you'll-die-among-great-scenery) So me and Kait dug deep and found our inner Curtis, and took some great pics and enjoyed life and scaled some mountains (aka small cliffs).
Let me just take a second to point out this new music group I recently found, called Walk Off The Earth. Like they are seriously perfection, I'm in love with Red Hands and right now I'm listening to they're other popular songs and let me tell you, if you aren't clicking off my tumblr right now and finding them, I'm judging you real hard.
So at 5:45 I looked at my weather app to see what the weather was (obviously) and noticed that it was 72 degrees, which if you didn't previously know, is the perfect weather. Like 73 is too hot, 71 is too cold, not to mention that they are both odd numbers. Like 72 is where it's at. If I were a number, I would be 72. I'm not kidding even a little bit. See if my Acro number isn't 72 next year. While checking the weather, I noted that the sun would be setting at 6:15. Me and Kait were like "That gives us plenty of time to finish our hike and find the car" Because everyone knows that you do not go in Cam Cam P alone after dark. Matter of fact if you're anywhere in Waco after 7 P.M. and you aren't safely in the Baylor Bubble, you're pretty much asking to be raped, mugged, harassed, shot. Like Waco is a sketchy place.
So at around 6:30 we found a map and knew that we would need to go south to find our car. No big deal. Piece of cake. We got this. BTT. Right? WRONG. So very wrong. Somehow, our dumb selves end up walking north for about twenty minutes and the entire time, there's a couple walking behind us and we're mentally freaking and wondering if they were plotting our murder, which I'm pretty sure they were. So we kinda just let them pass us.
So we were officially alone and had no clue where we were. It was so great... Even better, our team was over 2,000 miles away at a competition, MCC (our trio of guys, Marcus, Collin and Curtis) were also gone. Tyson and Jamesy Poo were gone. Like everyone who could've left was gone. Luckily, thanks to Line Camp 2013, I still knew I could count on my ChaCha (Edgar Chavarria). We called him and he taught us how to drop a pin on our phones and send it to him so he could find us. Cool right? Nahh. Kait dropped the pin, sent it to him and we waited, under a tree, away from one of the 12 streetlights in that entire park. ChaCha called back and told us her was on there... which was funny bc, we didn't see him at all. He tells us where he was, which was ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF WACO. How? Why? We'll probably never know. So we continued to sit there and call all of our friends and family and tell them our last words. Jk but looking back, that would've been kinda smart. It looked pretty dicey there for a minute.
I called my brother Ralph, Kait facetimed Allie, we called Marcus, Kait snap chatted (fyi, my snapchat is Mikea.Estelle) and we sat there for fifteen more minutes, freaking about every small sound we heard. When I tell you that every tree was a rapist, every bird was a murderer and every shadow was the Grim Reaper, I'm not exaggerating.
Edgar calls us back and tells us that he can't get into the park, that there's a gate closed or something and then we really start panicking. Well everyone was telling us to just call the park rangers, which was funny, because there was not number to contact them! At all! And I think someone needs to fix that. Even more disturbing was when I searched for the Cam Cam P Ranger articles came up from the end of January about two young women being harassed in the park. Don't believe me? Google that ish. Finally, after exhausting all other resources, we called Waco PD. Thank God right?!......
Cops
So, this lady answers the phone. Very calmly I tell her the situation, We were hiking, got lost, it's pitch black AND WE'RE FREAKED THE EFF OUT. She asks where we are, I tell her. She asks where the car is, I tell her. She talks to someone else and then proceeds to GIVE US DIRECTIONS TO OUR CARS. This nigga wanted us to WALK in the DARK back to car. Whaaaaaa? Like, it pissed me off so much at first, but now that I'm thinking of it, it's really offends me. But I digress. So I get off the phone with her and me and Kait decide that it's either walk to the car or sit there under our safe haven of a tree.
So because the City of Waco utterly failed us- like let me take a moment and walk you through this. They literally told us to walk through a park in the dark that is KNOWN to be unsafe after dark. KNOWN to have rapists, they knew we had a long walk back to the car, they knew we were two girls- because of that, we started walking.
Kait had a death grip on me from the moment we got up and I was so freaked I had to call my mom. While I was on the phone with her, I think John called Kait. She was trying to send him a pin and see if he could find out where we were. My mom, of course was just mad at the situation that we got in (oh oh oh, before I forget, the texts I sent my mom today were hilarious) and Kait was freaking because she couldn't get her phone to work. She started crying for two seconds, which is commendable because I actually expected her to start crying within the first minutes of it getting dark. I'm too proud of that girl (Yaaaass Kait)
So I get off the phone with Momma Knox and John calls me to figure out the GPS thing. All of sudden Kait turns to me and says "Car" I look back to see headlights coming at us. Mind you, we are in the middle of the street. I didn't know what Kait was doing, but I immediately went for the woods. I didn't take in consideration of the guardrail that was separating the woods and the road. So, I hopped it and fell straight to my stomach. Kait, somehow, made it with me and the car passed. I'm not sure why but for some reason I was making very creepy noises, laughing, crying, Idk. Kait dropped her phone, We were both scraped up and It was all just ridiculous. But I didn't want to be on the side of the road and have a creepy car see us. Absolutely not.
We dodge two more car attempts and by that time it's been twenty five minutes since we started walking. We still hadn't seen anymore streetlights (another thing that need to be addressed about that park) and me and Kait were too irritated for words. After the third car passed us, I was taking inventory of my body parts when Kait said we should call the cops again. I looked where we were on the map and I told her that we were right near the car. She screams at me, "WELL GET UP AND TAKE ME THERE!" I'm like, Oh dang, ok, we should go, you're right. I get up, shake myself off and turn around........ Kaitlyn is STILL on the ground. Tf?
So John calls again and asks us where we are. I see an Intersection and run to it, and Kait runs after me, because there was a truck by the intersection and it freaks her out. I see that the sign says Cameron Park and Lawson. Lawson was where we parked our car! We were standing in the parking lot. We ran to the Kia and made out getaway, maniacally laughing the whole time.
Czech Stop
After an ordeal like that, we had to go somewhere to calm our nerves. Where better to go than the Czech Stop. If you haven't heard of the C.S. its this bakery/expensive as heck gas station that sells all of these kolaches and danishes and omg when I tell you the twenty minute drive is 100% worth it, that's exactly what I mean. You haven't lived until you've gone to the Czech. So that was a treat, even though we went in looking like we might have spent two hours lost in the woods..
ChaCha
We came to the room and just kinda chilled the ChaCha invited us over for some pong (juice pong, duhh) and so we went there and ironically, met a guy named Marcus Franklin. It's funny to be because he's black. I have a Marcus, and he's also black. I also have a Curtis who reminds everyone of a turtle, Franklin, who's also black. People get Marcus and Curtis mixed up.. and they all kinda look alike.. like they have the same body types. It's pretty comical.
Also at this very second, Kait is typing a message to Waco PD so future Cameron P patrons will have some help if they find themselves stranded in the dark. #StopWacoPD2k14 #Speakuptodayforabettertomorrow #Ihaveadream
Anyway, at 6:30 AM this morning, me and Kait are going back to Cameron Park to watch the sunrise together! Something about that just sounds so relaxing and zen like. This weekend, was the best weekend of my freshman year though. Photoshoot, ZZZ, Lunch with momma and papa Williams, Hiking with Kait, Almost dying with Kait, Czech Stop, hanging out with new people, and the sunrise on a sunday morning? Honestly couldn't have been better. The Waco PD could've been better on their game but whatever....
They can't stop KM <3
ZZZ photoshoot
Smile for the Koolaid
Ok so today was like perfect. Classes were good, lunch was nice, practice was only an hour. I had din din with Katface and Curt kitty (if he ever reads this I bet that would irritate him) and then even though we had four hours until the Zeta Zigga Zamma (ZZZ: the Christian frat known for their love of koolaid) party, we all decided to get ready for it. The theme was Olympics, USA, red white and blue. So we all donned our tights and button downs and honestly, we looked icy. We went too turkey (haha Kristen) and then Curtis asked for a sheet and he strum it up and put out lamp in front of it and we had like a forreal photoshoot. It was so funny 😂. The party got shut down after about an hour and it was ok but not really that amazing or anything. We turned down pretty quick after that but still, overall it was a pretty successful day. Meet on Sunday at QU. And tomorrow will be a KM day with most every else gone from the room. Today was also my first full day being team iPhone and it was nice. I texted a lot people and caught up on the life I feel like I’ve been missing out on for two weeks. Anyway that’s all for now ✌️
Ohana
I’m not sure why but I’ve got a lazy night here at the Wack and it’s the absolute best feeling ever. My mom, Dad, Dana, Tite and Shanti drove me back here tonight and I got to Show Dana around campus with Kait which was really fun. Shanti had on her Baylor dress and she was too cute chasing after the squirrels and just running around campus. I really want to be able to have her here with me next year. It’d literally the best thing ever.
Anyway I was thinking of all of the friends I’ve made here and how my friendships from home have changed and it’s almost nothing like I expected. I don’t think you can ever really be prepared for the people that you meet in college and how they seem to become your everything. Like I honestly can’t imagine my life without Kait and Allie and we’ve only known each other for a little over five months. Like that’s some psycho stuff.
I still can’t remember exactly when KAM (Kait, Allie, Mikea) Clan started but I do remember the first night we hung out, and went to subway and got cookies, juice and apples. We all seemed so crazy and they were so down to earth. The first semester, they were really cool but there was still something that kind of held me back from being too tight with them. But then finals came and me and Kait literally bonded so much. It was crazy. Allie too, but she was kind of studying a lot more during the day and me and Kait were up all night. And then during break it really hit me how much I missed them. This spring semester, it’s been KAM all day every day and I’m not sure how, but we get closer and closer all the time. It’s amazing. Not that we don’t disagree, our friendship is literally founded on sarcasm and we go a little overboard sometimes. I mean, there are sometimes when Allie’s annoyance with Marcus gets to me and when Kait sometimes ditches us for Collin and I’m sure my stubbornness gets on their nerves a lot but one thing about living with other people, is that you can’t really stay mad at them for a long time. We’ve all learned how to communicate better. When do argue though, it’s actually really funny though; There’s usually some laughing or silence (from Allie) some crying (Kaitlyn) and some stubborn refusal to speak (usually me). Other than that though, we’re all so weird and funny that all three of us together is like the best time ever. KAM Over Everything <3
Hannah and Sarah are really cool too. We don’t see Sarah that much but I think it’s cool that she does her own thing. We have really meaningful conversations sometimes and I really enjoy that. I can always appreciate someone who can open up to their friends. Hannah’s more conservative than I thought she would be, but it’s nice because it’s almost like she’s a silent reminder to me of who I am and what I should and shouldn’t be doing as a Christian. Her psycho moments are so overwhelming and I love that she can let loose sometimes. Her eyeshadow is also really on point all the time and me gusto mucho. :)
I’ve only gotten close to a couple other people, like Marcus and Curtis and never a dull moment with them (they also have some pretty bomb music). I can honestly call Marcus one of best friends. He’s very easy to be around and joke with and we do a lot together. He’s always so honest, which is refreshing in a friendship and I like his Senator side. It’s something I haven’t ever really been around, someone being so passionate about the government. He cracks me up, and I secretly wished the whole thing with him and Allie would’ve worked out but oh well..
Curtis is very… intriguing I guess. He’s a really different kind of person and he’s got so many different sides to him it’s almost unnerving- almost. There’s Quiet Curtis (His biggest side) Turn up Curtis, Dance it out Curtis, Dec 7th Curtis, Neruo Curtis, Chill Curtis, Sassy Curtis (His most annoying side), Beyonce Curtis, Sit in a Corner and Watch Netflix Curtis (Not to be confused with Quiet Curtis), the Too-Quick-To-Call-You-Out Curtis (Usually turns into Sassy Curtis), The Curtis who secretly majors in Marketing and the But-What-Am-I-Gonna-Wear-Tomorrow Curtis. I’m pretty sure there’s at least four more but I don’t feeling like dedicating the time to think about it. He’s really chill most of the time and I don’t know why but I like arguing with him. When he gets heated and goes anywhere above a three, it’s too funny.
Honorable mentions as of right now, Madi, Claudia, Taylor (All three of them), Hannah (both of them, not Asian Hannah mentioned above though), Anthea, Kiara, Ty, James, Most of the Freshman Equest team (S/O to our sister sport!), Softball Sam, and X 2by2 (I miss them sooooo much!), Collin and all 6 Tsuwanis

I thought I’d be cool and get a quote about friendship to end this post but I got bored and just picked this.. Is it bad that it made me laugh a little… cause she’s blind? Probs. Don’t judge me though

The Thursday of No Classes
I don't know why, but I want to start documenting my life. I think it'd be a cool thing to do and then look back on in a few years. So I thought I'd start off by describing me no so exciting but still somewhat interesting Thursday
I haven't had a phone in about a week since I broke mine... Well Sam from Softball really broke it but whatever. So I used my iPod dock as an alarm and I clearly don't know how to use it since eI slept through it and missed both of my classes. Not that Mass Communication and Religion really matters but still, it kind of messed up my Thursday
My adventure with Kait and Madi to try and find cupcakes was fun though and we eventually got some (no thanks to What About Cupcakes) and din din at Shortys was fun. Today was also the beginning of our Acro season and even though we lost against Oregon, I don't think it was horrible. Props to their team routine though, it was SICK. That dance sequence was too icy.
Whelp.. that's all I guess. I'm pretty tired.
