I'm actually so happy that Solar mentioned this bc it's been on my mind for the past few weeks now.
(TW Tiny rant incoming + my opinion)
I'm pretty sure that every other father/parental figure these show chose to be a child's guardian willingly. Sun actually ended up adopting Dazzle. Moon didn't have to take in TJ, but he did. And I think that Eclipsy bonded with Sundroid before she became a mother-figure to him(idk I didn't watch femme much). Solar woke up, after being dead for four months, and was shoved into the whole Nexus arc with the side surprise that he's a dad now.
I like Solar's character, and genuinely I want to see more of him. It pmo when I see some people in the fandom say something like "Solar should've died during the overseer arc" or that Sun should adopt Jack. It's a stupid argument. Also, if you're going to complain about bad writing in a show that's been going on for almost four years, in which the writers are also working on their own other shows, lives and other jobs, go touch grass.

(prelude blah blah, idk, Nightmare be bitching about smth that Solar did that was probably perfectly fine but dude just hates him- Also, yeah, "Solar;" briefly thought to have him angry because of some realization of the awful treatment after steadily getting used to celestial family- before realizing that didn't really make sense or fit lol)
Red hands clenched into fists at his side, rays drawing in along their tracks as Solar stared hard at the ground. Frustration bubbled in his chest, but he held his tongue if only out of some weak sense of self-preservation.
βGod, Sun was stupid for thinking you would ever amount to anything!β Solar froze, his gaze snapping up to Moon. Rays extended, his fans ticking up a setting. Moon gesticulated wildly, red optics irate. βYouβre nothing but a waste of fucking space! Canβt even fix your ownββ
βWhat did you say?β Solar asked.
Moon cut off, optics turning to him. There was a cold calculation to his gaze. Then, slowly, a smile spread across his face. βInterrupting, are we?β
Anger boiled in Solarβs chest as he glared at his Moon, all inhibition thrown asunder. βWhat did you fucking say about him?β He gestured towards the tower aggressively. βHe did everything for us, and you have the gal, theβ the ignorance to call himββ Solarβs gaze didnβt make it back to Moon. Silver, then black flashed through his vision, and pain met the side of his head, a resounding, cracking clang filling his audio feeds for a brief moment before his sensory feeds fizzled out.
A harsh reset and few blinding colors had his vision back online, though he couldnβt tell up from down as his head spun. There was a shadow over him, two piercing red dots. His audio feeds came back online all at once in a crash of static, then silence. The feeling of a hand against his chestβ claws pressing, but not piercing, against metal βbrought Solarβs attention in full back to Moon. He could see his face now, over his own, a looming mask of cold unreadability. For a long moment, he simply stared. Then, in a low, icy tone, he spoke.
βDonβt raise your voice at me.β
He loomed for a moment longer before standing, glowering down at Solar before walking away. Solar followed with him with doubling vision until heβd left the his view and the Daycare. Then, slowly, he leaned his head back, groaning. He had a splitting headache, and he had half the mind to think it literal. Perhaps a full mind, if the other half werenβt lost to a disorienting, confusing haze that clouded his thoughts at the moment. Where there had once been a fiery, passionate anger was only coldness, and after a moment, he simply turned off his optics. He was an idiot for getting upset like that. It wasnβt like Sun was here to see how far Moon had fallen, anyways. It was probably for the best, too; it wouldβve broken his golden heart.

"this fic has inconsistencies, so it must be ai-generated" real humans make errors and mistakes. that's why we have this thing called plot holes. sometimes writers are tired and they don't remember what they wrote in the last sentences or paragraphs, let alone chapters.
"this fic sounds robotic and unnatural, so it must be ai-generated" not every writer writes in their native language. sometimes they can sound 'robotic and unnatural' if they wrote in their second or third or fourth language (and kudos to them).
"this fic has a prompt left in it that the author forgot to delete, so it must be ai-generated" the 'prompt' the author accidentally left in their fic could actually be a part of an outline that was meant only for them, so they could keep track of what they would write.
"this author posts too often, no human writes this fast, so they must use ai" 1.) you don't know how fast someone can or can't write, how much time a person has in a day or how motivated/skilled they are. 2.) the frequent updates you see could be something that has already been finished and sitting in the author's drafts for god knows how long. just because it's recently posted doesn't always mean it's recently written.
my point? no, you can never know if a fanfic is 'ai-generated'. unless the author says they use ai, you're just assuming, suspecting and witch hunting. chances are that you're not going to 'stop ai fics from being created', you're just going to wrongly accuse genuine writers of using ai and ruin their day at best, make them want to quit writing or sharing their works at worst.
people getting mad at ao3 for rightfully being firmly against censorship and allowing dark fics that depict taboo subjects in explicit details to be on their platform is so funny to me because ao3 was created specifically to be a fuck you to capitalism and censorship. the point of ao3 is that itβs a place to host and archive any fanwork, which includes fanwork about taboo topics that are not allowed on other platforms like wattpad or fanfiction.net
the whole point of ao3 is that itβs a safe space for all fics, and that includes fics about taboo subjects
ao3 has always been firmly against censorship since the day it was created, thatβs why itβs run by fans, for fans, on fansβ donations, why itβs a nonprofit organization, thatβs also why it has no ads or algorithms or any of those capitalism bullshit
if you have a problem with that, go to fanfiction.net or wattpad. no one forces you to stay in the house made specifically for the (affectionate) freaks
