Could I request something with Sora because I miss her sigh (if you want to ofc)
this is set right before canto 9, minimal spoiler for canto 9, possibly ooc
Kira jolts when she hears the sound of chains clinking near the entrance of her Corridor and rushes to put her things away and hide in fear of being spotted by Sora. She rolls off her couch and runs behind one of the many shelves. It is not like she hates the Index girl that's for sure, but that girl is just kinda… weird? Like those house-next-door kids who always do strange things in her comics! But for all the waiting, Sora never came in, instead, only the fading sounds of footsteps, and her TV show in the background, echoes around.
Sora almost runs through the halls to the door she knows you would be on the other side of, her eyes sparkle as her hand grips onto the cold metal of the door knob. Your smile is the first sight to greet her on the other side. Her heart mysteriously skips a beat, but she waves it off. Perhaps it was due to her running earlier. It does not even come close to being as important as the hangout with you.
You two greet as usual while you help her tidy her hair and wipe the sweat from her forehead. "You don't have to run, silly. I don't mind waiting," you say before patting her hair one last time, "B-but I was the one w-who set the time.. I would hate t-to be late." Tostop you from insisting any further, her steps speed up as she tugs you along, "L-let's go to the cafe!"
You introduce a few dishes she might like to her after receiving the menu from the staff. She nods along but you can clearly see she does not know what to choose at all. You lean forward, resting your face against your palm with a fond smile. She has been trying her best to choose for herself lately, even managing to pick an icecream flavor the week before! …Then she froze at the choice for toppings and you had to come to her rescue.
Her beeper rings out in the middle and Sora drops almost everything to look at it. It is a common occurence at this point, sometimes she just chooses whatever food or drink according to the prescript, other times she would rushes off to somewhere with no promise of returning at all. You sure hope that this time she will not leave you alone at least, you had picked out your best outfit to go with her today.
After a while, she tucks it back into her pocket and she whispers to you 'her' order. You try to hold back a grimace at it. Knowing her taste, you can guess this is another one that she did not pick on her own. You still nod and help her place her order along with yours as usual, though. Once the waiter leaves with the orders, you turn back to her. For a moment, Sora feels as if you were sparkling, making her rub at her eye and blink a few times. Your smile had faded and you reach over to check on her eyes, "Did something get into your eyes? Don't rub them, let me see." She can practically feel the warmth radiating from you, the gentle look on you searing itself into her heart without her knowing. Her face once again feels like a fire has been lit under her skin, burning her face.
Sora squeezes her eyes shut, "I-i-i- IT'S FInE! DON'T T-TOUCH ME!" Her voice cracks in the middle and suddenly she wants to burrow under the ground. Others turn around, staring. You pause mid-air. Hurt fills your eyes for a moment before you blink it away. Blood drain from Sora's face at both the commotion she had caused and the fact that she had hurt your feelings. "I-I'm so s-sorry!" You smile softly at that and shake your head, "It is fine, it was my fault. I should have asked you first." Something digs at her heart painfully, like she had been stabbed a dozen times. "This wasn't your fault," she mumbles. She had let you do the same time and time again, what is the difference this time?
In the end, before she can figure out anything, the waiter has brought out the food to your table. You accept the food politely and even set out the cutleries for her. With her… restrictions, you always slow your own eating pace to match hers, occasionally glancing across the table. It is still a mystery why she keeps on insisting to go eat or drink something with you despite the collar.
The meal ends in awkward silence, to Sora at least, and you somehow manage to pay before she does. You walk her back as per usual, walking on the outer side of the sidewalk while she fiddles with her calloused fingers. You make some small talk to help ease her nerves with the way you can feel her worrying radiate from her every pores. Eventually, before you two reach the door, she calms down and can talk more easily again.
You wave as she enters the corridor and turns to leave once the door is shut tight once again. Sora all but skips along the way back, the usual cheerful tune you hum now coming from her instead. Soon she will be assisting her father with Limbus Company, rendering her too busy to hangout with you but then she will finally have more stories to tell you! If this goes well, maybe mister Rien will finally recognize her efforts and consider her his family too! She feels oh so lucky, with mister Rien and you who cares for her.
Oh yes, she had promised to meet up with you later on in the month for lunch also! She hopes that the weather will be fair so that you would not have to deal with the rain…
