Many have said this in better ways, but once-human spirits and ancestors are just people. The relationships you have with them are really the same as other everyday relationships. Spirit work is calling someone back, offering them something to eat, inviting them to come sit inside for a while and talk with you. It’s asking the people in your life about their day, keeping your guest room clean and warm, offering a bite of whatever you’re enjoying. Spiritual relationships require the same mundane selfless upkeep that all relationships require.
