Laughing at his joke, Kara shook her head. “I wish I was witty enough to actually follow up with another joke, but I failed chemistry.”

Killian’s shoulders lifted into a shrug. “It’s okay, if you had replied with a return joke. We probably would have volleyed chemistry puns back and forth. We would have started looking like an episode of fucking Big Bang. So, you really saved us from looking like major assholes. You did us a favor.”
