Getting back into House MD was not the play ngl, I watched it a decade+ ago but now I'm just a hundred times worse about it because why is Wilson actually freak, because in the House inducing a migraine episode, Wilson just goes out of his way to make noise, he gives sadist who's trying to ignore that part of himself because it's uncomfortable and tries to make up for it

Yes this is prob going to amount to me writing about Wilson playing dirty when the chips are down because he's into House coming and asking him for pills, gen into House being in pain and only finding any sense of relief from Wilson himself and that's why he's so mad when he finds out House has been forging prescriptions, he's been robbed ty for your time

i loved that migraine scene though BUT i found it odd that he still poured him a glass of water while pouring the coffee away for him (albeit very loudly, but still)

i think it's 'cause he still wanted to help, or give the illusion of helping, house.

house should have called him out for being a hypocrite because what was that, but he was too impaired for that

typing the word impaired to describe house is stirring something in me so i'll end this here

I think IT'S JUST SO CLEAR LIKE the ducklings are far kinder, lowering their voice to accommodate while Wilson will do this front of being helpful, in a 'I'm just getting this guy water' but in the loudest possible way then just pretend it's because he forgot he needs to be quiet, he gives sadist and the fact House USUALLY catches him out, makes Wilson struggle to catch himself. Today, I watched the episode where House calls Wilson who's sleeping when doing the self surgery and YK for a fact if Wilson went there, 1. He'd make House say whichever combination of words to get more pain relief before pulling the tumours out himself and 2. Wilson would definitely spend more time than strictly necessary to take them out, esp if House is a little too out of it (Wilson giving a little too much morphine so House's mouth curls up and I just have a vision)

ALSO when House slams a pestle into his hand and is Wilson just immediately starts talking about gating mechanisms for pain like that guy is a certified freak, I'll die on this hill that he's tried use this as a way to involve maintenance spanking or something (absolutely has to be in House's office because Wilson thinks the glass walls adds to the whole atmosphere but I'm also really for the concept of House going to Wilson's office specifically to recount all sorts of slights solely to see where Wilson will catch on and say 'idk that don't sound like you', it's a win-win really because why is Wilson literally the only person who can call House's bluffs with EASE, and it makes Wilson smug/act self-righteous and hit a little harder

pfft yes james wilson and his intimate knowledge of physical abuse as pain relief. i swear they HAVE tried that before, i have read so many fics where house begs wilson to hit him to numb the pain but none where wilson asks to hit him. i mean, of course, because it would ruin the whole good guy facade.

but YES YES wilson calling house out and using that as a reason to go all out, ohhhh my YES!

also for the self-surgery thing I literally just wrote a fic about THAT idea where wilson went instead of cuddy :sob: like I HAD TO it was such a good setting ohhhmy lord? personally i loved that scene a LOT and c'mon, wilson wouldn't have been sleeping because 1) he's already used to mid-night calls from house so he became a light sleeper and would instantly wake up at the sound of his ringtone and 2) i think he knew that house was taking those experimental drugs and that they caused cancer and 3) i want wilson to be there instead of cuddy

Listen I’m not firmly on either side of Cuddy and House vs. House and Wilson. But I think arguably one of the most loving (platonic or romantic) things I’ve ever seen on prime time television is Wilson and House going back and forth on furniture for the condo in s6e16. House eventually tells Wilson that he doesn’t want him to be defined by someone else’s choices (referring to Wilson always letting his wife or girlfriend at the time decorate their place).

Then Wilson buys an organ for House. It’s the only thing he picked himself. And I feel like that could be interpreted not as House selfishly defining Wilson, but as Wilson purposefully letting House into his life. House is a part of him.

And then to top it all off, House says, with pure joy and warmth in his eyes, “I like what this says about you Wilson.” And the shot cuts to Wilson who looks so happy tears are actually brimming in his eyes.

And then to top it all off even more, A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum closes out the episode. Like wtf.

For today's #housepositivityweek prompt, I'm basic and my favorite is the titular character! There are a lot of reasons I love House; from his impressive intellect to his wicked sense of humor to his decidedly 2008 vaguely alternative-middle-schooler wardrobe, he just has that je ne sais quoi. (And I speak in French because I don't try to hide what an ass I am.)

I think my favorite thing about him is that juxtaposition of, like, impenetrability and vulnerability. He's abrasive, impulsive, arrogant, vulgar; he's also wildly self-destructive, wracked with self-loathing, isolated, traumatized, and miserable. He's edgy and obnoxious and physically and mentally ill. He's a brooding agent of chaos with a silly animated face.

Plus he's just incredibly well-rounded and talented: an avid listener of music and musician alike, a polyglot, a monster truck enthusiast, a soap opera connoisseur. There are many things about him that shouldn't go together, but do - the most brilliant doctor in an undefined varying episode-to-episode radius is an incorrigible manchild. He's a maverick. He's without a doubt a singular person.
