Steven Universe pearl OCs! Cerise/Amaranth Pearl is mine, and Iridescent Celestine Pearl I helped create for @technolucent! (We worked together to make their story...)
Cerise Pearl was originally owned by a Mornagite in Pink Diamond's court. Cerise Pearl acted very out of character for a pearl; Stubborn and mischievous. Their actions were disciplined but often excused until they were caught trying to steal a rare pearl from their diamond.
They were sent to be reset, but due to the unfortunate timing, they were only put back in commission after the 'death' of their diamond, Pink Diamond.
As a result, they were reactivated under the ownership of a Jasper in Yellow Diamond's court and given the new title of Amaranth Pearl, with no memory of having been in Pink Diamond's court or of being reset in the first place.
The Jasper given Amaranth Pearl knew full well of their previous rebellious tendencies and did well to correct that early on. This conditioning made Amaranth Pearl much more focused and reserved.
Iridescent Celestine Pearl was one of the few Iridescent Pearls made. Iridescent Pearls was a line of pearls made at the request of Pink Diamond. They are pearls that are much smaller and more fragile. They were made purely to accentuate the more graceful parts of the average pearl, making them unable to serve gems the way other pearls do.
This line of pearls is the only line capable of feeling something similar to human tiredness, often needing long periods of 'sleep' to perform properly. They were made this way for easy storage, given that they were used only for short periods.
Iridescent Pearls were all stored together in a big, decorated clam box that doubled as a stage when opened. Their performances were given as a prize to worthy gems and displayed at many of Pink Diamond's parties.
After the 'death' of Pink Diamond, the Iridescent Pearls were put under the authority of Blue Diamond, who refused to have any of them reset due to her own sentimentality, despite having them separated and reassigned to work for individual gems.
Iridescent Celestine Pearl was given to a sapphire who neglected to understand the limits of these kinds of pearls. She'd force Iridescent Celestine Pearl to dance for much longer than this line of pearl was made to endure, causing Iridescent Celestine Pearl to often collapse after being dismissed. The only time Iridescent Celestine Pearl is given any form of comfort during these times is when they and the other Iridescent Pearls are called to tell Blue Diamond stories of their time in Pink Diamond's court.
Cerise Pearl and Iridescent Celestine Pearl met at one of Pink Diamond's many parties. Their friendship grew wordlessly at first by catching each other's gaze. Cerise Pearl would make silly faces and gestures when no one else was looking in an attempt to get Iridescent Celestine Pearl to break into laughter while performing.
The two of them slowly became bolder about their meeting when Cerise Pearl realized there was a point where the parties would stop paying as close attention to the Iridescent Pearls' performance. They'd sneak off together for a short period to make jokes and laugh together, always being sure to return to their proper places before anyone would take notice.
This was all until the day they found themself all too wrapped up in conversation. Time slipped away from them as the party came to a close, and their absence was noticed by the diamonds. Due to Cerise Pearl's rebellious nature and the rarity of Iridescent Celestine Pearl, Cerise Pearl was made out to be attempting theft of an Iridescent Pearl from their own diamond. Treasonous behavior.
That was the last time Iridescent Celestine Pearl saw them. It could only be assumed they had been shattered by how long they had been gone. Iridescent Celestine Pearl spent the rest of their time in Pink Diamond's court, solemnly performing and crying to their fellow Iridescent Pearls. They couldn't shake the thought that Cerise Pearl's shattering was in some ways their doing.
Iridescent Celestine Pearl's grief was only just beginning as the entirety of Pink Diamond's court was sent into an era of sadness after the 'death' of their diamond. Iridescent Celestine Pearl did their best to hold themself together during the transition into Blue Diamond's court.
The days and years melted together, and just like any other day, Iridescent Celestine Pearl's Sapphire was called to another meeting. They were discussing journeying to Earth, and they had to speak with a Jasper from Yellow Diamond's court. They were requesting protection due to the growing rebellion on Earth.
This was all fairly normal, but something was strange. Something was familiar. Iridescent Celestine Pearl couldn't break their gaze from the Jasper's Pearl, Amaranth Pearl, the Pearl that would be accompanying them on this mission. It was Cerise Pearl; it was unmistakable, and Iridescent Celestine Pearl knew it, but their shocked expression was only met with confused, cold eyes. Their heart broke at the realization; they didn't remember, but they were alive. That's all that matters right now.
