First con of 2026 was my 50th CE SPN con, back where it all began in Vegas. And what a stellar group of guests we had to celebrate!
Amy Gumenick was my bucket list guest after waiting years to get her to sign my 2018 Ladies of SPN calendar. And of course I had to get a Young John and Young Mary op! Matt of course, being typical Matt.
This Mishmash op turned out unexpected adorable.
This op right here was worth the whole convention. Nine, count them NINE of the amazingly talented women of SPN. The most women we've ever had at a con. Including both Amy and Emmanuelle Vaugier who I hadn't had an opportunity to meet before. I love this op so much.
Countdown op! So much fun getting to see Jensen interacting with other casemates. And I had a real moment looking at this op later and realizing that I entered it with no plan, gave no instruction. I wasn't even sure where I was going to stand and if you had asked me right after, I would have said we just did a standard side-by-side. The boy wrapping his arm around me and leaning in like that was all him. And I must have just reacted on instinct. Looking back at the JPEG I was a little stunned.
I don't know what my face is doing here, but this was the world's most polite op. I said, "May I have a hug." And he said, "Yes, you may." We are dorks.
This needed a retake because of the glare and Misha's face just got progressively more done. And yes, that is my very first JenMish op from 9 years earlier at my first con.
This was a last minute impulse purchase. Not that I really need an excuse but I was getting in my own head by Sunday morning. This is the result of telling him to pretend like he actually liked me for a second. I genuinely didn't know what he had done until I got the photo back but it's very cute.
And that's a wrap on con #50. Headed to 51 in Norfolk next weekend and then a loooooong break before Boston in June.
