This is one of the best posts I’ve ever made. It’s just people talking about wanting rain. Or who have too much rain and want other to have their rain.
[Image ID: Threads post from jwynia reading: If you believe in jailing homeless people, you already believe homeless people should have housing paid for by the public. You've just decided that the housing provided should be super-expensive, should suck, and their lives should be miserable while they receive that housing and food. Which says a lot less about homeless people than that you are a dick. /End ID]
I wonder why they want cash buyers only, for this small railroad water tower that they converted to a home. 1980 build in Nederland, CO, 2bds, 2ba, 1,411sqft, $575k (I would think that the price is for the acreage).
Enter directly into the living room area.
It's cute, but who has that kind of cash?
So, they've got the main area set up as a living/dining room.
Semi-round kitchen. Very compact.
Nice tile and sink in the bath.
These spiral stairs go up to an open loft.
There's seating and a terrace in the loft.
I'm getting confused. This looks like bedroom furniture, but the bed isn't here.
This ladder goes through an opening in the ceiling and the bed is up here.
There are skylights, and carpeting, but it doesn't look as if you could actually stand up.
It's pretty high.
Another level with a ladder. But, that's not the bed for the main loft.
It's just a bed above the loft. Although it may be for the loft, who knows?
The bath is off to the side in the loft seating area.
Then double doors open to more spiral stairs. I'm lost.
There's also this enclosed sunroom and deck, with stairs going up the outside of the house.
They have a shed with a carport next to the house. The house looks like it's on 3 levels, but it's very confusing, b/c as usual, the realtor never posts photos in order.
A dousing of weekend rain illuminates the moss in the old growth hemlock forest along Little Laurel Run in Coopers Rock State Forest. The gifts of late May in Central Appalachia's old woods include false Solomon's seal (Maianthemum racemosum), Indian cucumber (Medeola virginiana), speckled wood lily (Clintonia umbellulata), and mapleleaf viburnum (Viburnum acerifolium).
was thinking about how id redistribute wealth if i did get very wealthy somehow and realized that, cause i believe we need to change conditions to become conducive for change, it'd be long term investing in communities and causes. first ones to come to mind are queer folks and family abolition or disability rights.
but also not as like a very visible awareness raising person, id burn out from spotlight so fast, i just want to be enabling excellent work.
and i realized id literally be the society destroying puppetmaster worst nightmare the right wing comes up with a boogeyman. literally i want to destroy families*
* in their conception of family as "you have no choice but to adopt my values and world view or you lose every material & emotional security you have." not "unconditionally loving biological relations" which ofc are bonds that can't be destroyed by social change.
can't find my leatherworking tools including the hole punches. wanted to use a hole punch to put a vent hole in the wet spot in bathroom ceiling cause i worry about getting things dry quick enough to prevent mold, but something i can just spackle over.
(have to navigate my parents like bad landlords)
cause a circle about the size of a hole punch is water damaged enough to be spongy and give under finger pressure. must be the lowest spot of where remaining water is pooling.
i guess i could use a drill bit but it'll be messier than a punch...
i need to make myself some food and eat now anyway.
this is the problem with barely having the energy & functioning for ADLs but being the only person in the house willing to do whatever to keep the house in good shape, instead of getting mad and in denial about doing damage control on unforeseeable events to protect literally the biggest investment in the family.
meritocracy is just a sham they sell to ppl to pacify them into accepting rich ppl deserve to have more power somehow. and it results in the whole society being fucked up, so we can have good sense and ability and communication skills but nomoney means you still have to live under property owners who will ignore any & all of that in favor of just pretending everything is fine no problems ever with water damage living in a temperate rainforest in a house designed to trap and retain heat & air.
not to get too galaxy brained, it's just legitimately consoling for me to realize this isn't just a me (/person living in family home) problem, it's the same shit ppl renting with landlords who dismiss their concerns like hysteria deal with as well.
wait. just realized i can just remove the nearest potlight and keep it out while im waiting for things to dry. and it'll mean much more ventilation than a hole i punch or drill.
