Hi, I'm Cosmic aka @create-chaos! Welcome to my creative blog.
I'm taking my first leaps into being a creator who actually publishes the media they craft and this blog has some solid foundations for my OCs. I plan to share more about them as I put more effort into writing and digital art.
Please feel free to message me or send asks! This includes requests for how I tag posts or if you'd like to be included in any tag lists. This blog is a work in a progress as I attempt to build an audience, so your patience and feedback is super appreciated :)
If you want to send something to a specific character, too, they'll definitely respond (I love playing with my "dolls").
Took me years to understand that boredom is not the enemy of writing. It is the raw material. Every good idea i have ever had arrived during a walk with no podcast, a train with no phone, a shower where i just stood there. The moment i fill every silence with content i stop generating anything of my own. I am just processing other people's thoughts instead of having mine. The empty space is where the work comes from. Protecting the empty space is the actual job.
I would normally never get so personal on this blog BUT!
I am really proud of the pitches I came up with for a screenwriting class I'm taking and I wanted to share them here as a part of my goal in sharing my writing and my art more frequently. So here they are!
1. Working Title: PAIGE TURNER
The shy daughter of a bookstore owner spends all day dreaming of the fantasy lands and adventures in the books she reads. She finds a new book in a box donated to the store, a journal that appears to be handwritten. On a whim, she recites the magic spell that allows the main character to return to their magical home, only to discover that it actually worked. Now, she must go on an adventure of her own to unlock the truth about the journal and about the power she carries inside of herself.
2. Working Title: SMALLTOWN BOY
A lonely college student signs up to be a counselor at a summer camp offering a "Totally 80's Experience" in an attempt to make friends, only to discover that someone is using the camp as their personal slasher playground and picking off counselors before the camp officially opens. With no cellphone signal and only a two-seater golf cart for transportation, he and the remaining counselors bond during the attempt to escape... but will the newfound friendships be strong enough to make it out alive together?
3. Working Title: BRIGHT IDEA
A vibrant, fiercely independent young artist is living the life of her dreams when a sudden loss snowballs into a series of unfortunate events that leave her feeling directionless and devoid of color. She isolates herself and abandons her career, only to discover a "pet spark" left behind in her sister's belongings from when they were kids. The "Spark" suddenly comes to life, but is very weak and must be nurtured back to its full brightness. As the young woman learns to care for her Spark, she also learns to embrace the support of her community and begins to allow color back into her life.
Eliott's conception was unexpected, but not unwelcome. Growing up, El faced a myriad of problems that weren't helped by his family's life on the road. His constant struggles- especially those beyond his control- gave Eliott the belief that he was cursed and he developed a pessimistic notion of himself. As a teenager, he survived a near-death accident but became addicted to the pain medication he was prescribed, which snowballed into a wider range of substances. While he's since recovered from his most harmful addictions, El still relies on cigarettes and weed to ease his pain (and to occasionally quiet his extrasensory abilities).
▴ Born January 30th, 2002
▴ He/They, Transmasc and bisexual (has a thing for blondes)
At age 12, El was incorrectly diagnosed as schizophrenic; what he initially believed were hallucinations turned out to be ghosts. His gift as a psychic medium encouraged him to pursue a life of Paranormal Investigation, much to the chagrin of his parents. Nevertheless, he persisted in the name of research. Rather than hunting down and destroying beings from the "Other Side", El seeks to understand the strange and unusual. He finds a comfort in it that he can't find in regular society.
He's corny and never misses the opportunity for a pun. His movie trivia knowledge and music taste are great sources of pride. He may not be here for a long time (his words) but he's down for a good time.
If you ask him, Eliott will call himself uneducated but he would register as a genius on an IQ test. In addition to his photography, he's also self-taught and well practiced in various technology related hobbies that aid his research and inventions. His psychic sight also extends to Spooky Things captured on film, and a sixth sense that acts as an internal EMF detector.
