I've been questioning a lot lately, about saying that I'm a Pen fictkin or not since I don't really know if fictionkin is related to religion/spiritual beliefs or some sort. And since I'm worried about fictionkin being something that is against my beliefs. Now I don't believe myself having a past being said character (I might be more of a psychological fictionkin) I just feel like a really deep connection/attachment to Pen himself, such as sometimes I, myself get offended by when another character that insulted him and felt like it's personal. I'm sorry if my explanation is really long and if it's confusing to understand. I'm just questioning if fictionkin is a religious/spiritual belief or not

🚀 hello! not confusing or too long of an explanation at all, don't worry. this is a particularly tricky topic to talk about because kinning is a very different experience for everyone! some folks see it as spiritual, or maybe even religious, while others just see it as a way to cope with things they've experienced in their life. some even kin just for fun! there is no right or wrong way to kin, just go with what feels right for you! in my own personal experience, it is a very deep, almost spiritual type of connection/feeling i have with the characters that i kin. not everyone experiences kinning this way, however. each member of the kinning and alterhuman community has different definitions of what it means to kin, or to have an identity beyond the scope of being human. i think you should label it however you want, and if you feel you don't want to label it as religious or spiritual then that's okay! i personally am not very religious myself so i can't speak for whether or not kinning might go against religious beliefs or be religious in general. it might be good to do a bit of research on that and formulate your own answer, as well as observing your religion's beliefs to see if kinning would go against those. hope this helps you out a bit, and have a lovely day/evening anon! good luck!

so, i'm a cabby fictionkin, and i have a mutual who is a test tube fictionkin. I'm working on a fanfic which is particularly based off my kinmems, and there, test tube is killing cabby's kids. I posted about the fanfic multiple times and i almost finished the fanfic. How do i explain this to my test tube fictionkin mutual??? In this life/universe we're good with each other, but when i was not in this damn human vessel i was enemies with test tube.

Maybe explain its not towards them and its more so about your / towards your mem version of Test Tube , which is canon divergent timeline/universe to inanimate insanity. - 🌌 mod trist

I don't know if this counts as a kinfession (or the fictive equivalent.), but I feel the need to talk about it somewhere.

I never see anyone talk about how lonely it is being a fictive with an obscure or technically nonexistent source- I have a right to believe I am just about the *only* Rose Lalonde-Noir fictive, and probably the only introject from my timeline. Compared to "canon" Homestuck, my source is so much different and I don't think I'll ever find any sourcemates.
