The Road to Greatness: Casey's Mastery Journey

Casey Corbin is a 2017 graduate of Clemson University where he majored in Business Management and minored in Communication Studies. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Casey currently resides in Atlanta, GA. Casey is a versatile and adaptable goal-oriented professional with a plethora of skills in marketing, communications, and human resources. Currently Casey is pursing a Master of Science in Entertainment Business which he intends to use to launch his own fine arts academy and talent management agency.

Sometimes things happen in life that are beyond our control but we can’t let them deter us from our destiny. Despite whatever may happen always remember YOU have control of your life so don’t settle for mediocracy.

This is another one of the songs that have inspired me to continue to follow my dreams despite the obstacles I have faced. This work by Beyoncé focuses on leaving a legacy and a mark on the world so that our work lives on after we are long gone. As someone who comes from a very small family, I hope to build a family legacy and leave my mark on the world for generations to come.

This work is a pretty accurate depiction of my childhood and reminds me that I do not have to let my life experiences determine my future. It also encourages me to follow my dreams and never lose hope no matter what I may face in life.

Intention Statement

Over the course of my Mastery Journey, I hope to grow and reach new heights. Over the next 12 months, I intend to immerse myself deeply in my coursework so that I can so that I can be well prepared to achieve my goal of becoming an entertainment industry mogul. Through my coursework, I hope to gain a thorough understanding of contract negotiation and entertainment law so that I can be well prepared to represent my future clients and ensuring they are not selling themselves short. I also hope to master the art of time management so that I can find the perfect work-life balance as I continue to work my full-time job and follow my dreams. Mastering the art of time management will not only assist me as I pursue my degree, but it will also benefit me in my personal and professional life. During my journey, I hope to increase my self-confidence so that I will not be deterred from my aspirations due to self-doubt. Focusing on developing my self-confidence, will help me grow professionally as I will feel more comfortable meeting new people while building my network. I plan to utilize my degree to aid me in launching my talent management agency and an academy of the arts. Through my academy, it is my goal to not only help students perfect their crafts and master the art of entertainment. But I also intend to mold them into entertainment professionals who understand the business for themselves so that they can conduct business on their own behalf in the event that their manager is not available. Having observed my friends who have decided to pursue entertainment careers and live the starving artist lifestyle, I intend to be the source of support and opportunity provider for aspiring entertainment professionals through my talent management agency. I look forward to the journey ahead and I cannot wait to achieve my dream of helping others chase their dreams.
