Sensabaugh Tunnel can also Be found in Kingsport Tennessee. Built in the 1920′s and named after the lands owner, Edward Sensabaugh. It is, in fact, one of the most well known local legends. There are three versions of this legend. The first version of the legend is that Edward let a homeless man in his him as a charitable act. It is said that this man tried to steal jewelry from Sensabaugh and Edward held him at gun point. The man used Edwards baby daughter as a shield to get away and drown the baby in the tunnel. The second version of this legend is that Edward simply wnet insane and killed the family placing thier bodys in the tunnel. And the third and most believed theory is that Edward actually lived to an old age not dying until the 1950′s and all of his children survived. But as he got older vandals and teens would use the tunnel for fun and graffiti. So Sensabaugh would sneak down to the other end of the tunnel letting a sharp shriek. The tunnel is covered in graffiti and a small stream runs through from the creek. Legend says that if you park your car in the middle of the tunnel and turn the engine off it wont start back for several minutes. As someone who has personally done this i can confirm its happened to me, be it a fluke or not. Reports have also been made of baby crys, Edward himself walking through the tunnel, and a woman appearing in back seats.
