Kikkou is surprised by the sudden affection, but it is definitely most welcome after having been gone. “Oh? Was my expedition really so long, Goshujinsama? Forgive me, I did not mean to make you worry.” He hugs the Saniwa back, reveling in the closeness they had. “The Captain has collected my report already, so you need not worry about monopolizing my time now that I have returned. But really, have you been making sure to drink enough water? It has been quite hot out as of late.”

Chuckling, the saniwa pulled back enough to be able to comfortably look at the other without straining his neck. “It was a rather long expedition, indeed”, he grinned. “But I am sure it did bring the fruits I hoped for.” Reaching up, he cupped the warrior’s cheeks in his palms, thumbs lightly rubbing against the skin in what would have been a caress. “I am glad to see you unharmed.”

The gentle hug he received back made Yuuki feel warm, as if he was indeed hugging a family member he had not seen for a long time. “It has rained quite a bit here, and it gets chilly at night – but besides that, Mitsutada-san has been very attentive and diligent, preparing balanced meals, making sure I eat enough, and always bringing me tea or drinks.”

“Mitsutada-san is very reliable, but now that I’ve returned Goshujinsama will have extra care once again.” Flourishing a hand, Kikkou added extra drama to his words, hoping to always bring happiness to a master who treated them all so well.
