hey btw nonverbal safewords also exist and you can and should use them!! especially with things like gags and giving oral but also if you're just the type to get real bad with words when super horny! a simple easy one to remember is three taps but you can discuss other ones with your partner(s)!

the response to this has been really lovely and educational so i thought i'd add some things people have brought up in the tags!

always discuss both a verbal and non verbal safe word before engaging in kink play of any kind with new partner(s), never assume they'll know the stop light system or know how to use safe words/gestures in general

if hands are bound/out of commission you can use a number of snaps or some kind of battery-less device that makes a noise such as a clicker or bell

try to have a way to communicate 'keep going' non-verbally as well, and if using taps/snaps/any action done more than once make that number more that the safeword amount. its better to have someone slow down or stop while trying to get them to keep going rather than the other way around!
