Thread here
Incredible stuff happening. I want push notifications for every update. I hate push notifications.
Ha! Found the thread this is from! Now here's hoping I can figure out how to follow it.
EDIT: Ah, the thread that was linked in the original post. The link that I missed and did web-search and other stuff to find. Well done, me. *sigh*
Okay, Imma go ahead and do this again, because while the entire thread is delightful it's getting Very. Long. And I want to be able to skip to the relevant part of the story as desired without hitting "see more" 120 times. I'm subdividing on vibes, a mix of where Trung Le focuses attention and where I feel like the story subdivides and when we've gone too dang long without a breaking point.
The Beginning (as above) (2026-05-28 19:20 UT)
Jane's mother and sisters visit her while she's sick at Netherfield (05-31 5:10 UT)
Introducing Collins and Wickham (featuring some GREAT analysis of Wickham as malignant social engineer) (06-05 14:03 UT)
Netherfield Ball (beginning) (06-11 14:14 UT)
Netherfield Ball continued ("This party is taking forever, and I’m moving through it so slowly, which is the experience the other characters have every time Mr Collins decides to give a speech, which happens more than once somehow.") (06-19 3:15 UT)
Mr. Collins's Proposal (06-23 4:42 UT)
Charlotte's Options (06-24 19:40 UT)
The Gardiners come for Christmas (and further character discussion) (06-26 5:08 UT)
Going to Rosings (at least, going after Mrs. Gardiner's opinion on Wickham & Mary King) (06-30 21:34 UT)
Meeting Lady Catherine (07-07 3:53 UT)
"Wait is Colonel Fitzwilliam hot?" (07-07 18:22 UT)
Elizabeth warns Darcy about her favorite walks (07-09 1:41 UT)
The Hunsford proposal (07-09 20:35 UT)
Darcy's letter (part 1) (07-10 4:23 UT)
Darcy's letter (part 2) (07-10 5:02 UT)
Elizabeth's reaction (07-10 22:19 UT)
Back to Meryton (07-11 17:17 UT)
"This is going to be a disaster. I can't wait." (re: Lydia going to Brighton) (07-11 18:23 UT) (less of a natural stopping point and more "oh, I've about run out for the day")
"OH jeez louise, I just realized why Pemberley" (07-12 2:41UT) (context: was wondering why Elizabeth was so concerned about Pemberley on the Derbyshire trip)
"EVERYONE SHUT UP; HE'S HERE!!!!!" (07-12 4:21 UT)
Georgiana introduced (07-12 5:09 UT)
Today's ending point - end of Chapter 44 (07-12 18:39 UT)
Start of Chapter 45 - with the Bingleys at Pemberley (07-13 2:35 UT) (noting that Our Reader seems to have trouble remembering that Louisa Hurst is also a Bingley)
wait is that all for today
it's all Chapter 45 and that's it and only about one page of posts?
Guess I'll continue tomorrow. Curious whether Our Reader intended to liveblog only one chapter last night, or spotted the doozy that is Chapter 46 and decided to wait to give it full attention.
Yes I was reading this live last night and no I was not inclined to pause long enough to document.
"Chapter 46 — Jane has a flaw! Her handwriting is ass. God bless." (07-13 23:40 UT)
The thread breaks oddly after "💞💞💞DARCY💞💞💞" but don't worry, we continue at Lambton (07-14 00:05 UT)
And back to Longbourn (07-14 00:43 UT)
"Mr Bennet assumes responsibility for this catastrophe, so I suppose that’s growth?" (07-14 1:33 UT)
Today's ending point (07-14 2:24 UT)
Chapter 50 (07-14 23:29 UT)
Closing today on "Everybody’s feelings are complicated, except for Mrs Bennet, who is like Tinkerbell and only has enough room for one feeling at a time." (07-15 12:50 UT)
After a one-night break...
"It is time for the wedding nobody wants except for Mrs Bennet and likely also Lydia." (07-16 21:37 UT)
"I’m a little annoyed with myself for dipping into this little chapter this early in the evening because now I am off to play D&D and will not be able to find out what happens next for several hours 😭😭😭" (07-16 22:43 UT)
... and it has been several hours more, and yet the thread has no more P&P.
ive never wanted to send a death threat over a game before

We stood in the Roman ruins that, like patchwork, stitch so remarkably through the village of Caer-went, and dutifully read the information boards. The Romans had forcibly built and established Venta Silurum with the intention of Pacifying the Silurians, the local tribe.
“I think I feel weird now, about the Doctor Who aliens being called Silurians,” I said, “it’s sort of uncomfortable having ‘lizard people from the dawn of time’ being named after Celts. Tips into that bad-faith lizard-person space.”
“The BBC would have only been thinking of the Silurian period,” Dr Glass said neutrally. “That’s a fair siting for a ‘dawn of time.’ The Cambrian would’ve been uncomfortable and impractical.”
“Was the geological period of Palaeozoic life named after the tribe?” I said. “Hey, given that the Cambrian period is the Cambrian period! It must’ve been.”
“Haha - wait - look - look at the north!!”
“Damn! The whole-ass Ordovician period?!”
“Over to England for the Devonian,” Dr Glass, who claims Devonshire heritage on one side, said thoughtfully. “Permian, that’s Perm - probably the mountain range.”
Anyway, this proceeded to amuse me for a few days, and will be required to enjoy these jokes
There comes a point when you realize that an awful lot of time periods of the prehistoric world are named after a specific *place* where it was identified. "Humans seem to have emerged as a species around the times these fossils in Chiba, Japan formed. We'll call it the Chibanian Stage when we hit it in the ground and the Chibanian Age in history." "We found some stuff in Denmark from right after the T rex got obliterated! We'll call it the Danian."
And then apparently some people said "Hey, my friend just named his period of study 'Cambrian' after the stuff he found in Wales [Latin: Cambria] - I also found stuff in Wales, so I'll be more specific and call it 'Silurian' after the ancient inhabitants of this subset of Wales."
... And given that the Silures-occupied land included what is now Cardiff, aka Where Doctor Who Is Filmed, I'm now rethinking my previous assumption that Silurians were given their name *purely* for the period in history.
I'm in a little local cafe and the women behind the counter started griping to each other, "Oh Christ, Stephen's back again," "It's him, is it? I thought he'd stopped coming," "It's definitely him, look, it's bloody Stephen on a Thursday morning," "Do you want me to get rid of him or are you going to do it?" and so I was peering outside, trying to spot this nightmare customer, this pestilence of a person, this pox upon the cafe trade, and then one of the women from behind the counter ran outside, clapping two trays together loudly and yelling "GET OUT OF IT, STEPHEN!" and it turns out that Stephen is an absolutely gigantic fuck-off seagull who hangs around outside, menacing people for crumbs
So naturally this was at the top of my dash before I refreshed, and after I refreshed
