it might be the first physical interaction that Vader’s had in 20+ years that didn’t end in pain. it’s probably the first time someone had touched him with love and gentleness since Padmé on Mustafar.

only this time it’s his son. his son who loved him enough to give him the choice between him an Palpatine. his son who has every reason to hate him but doesn’t. his son who, instead of hating him, tries to save him.
