would you ever consider doing a gif tutorial? you seem to be very good at making gifs, so i'm a bit curious!
huuh, sure! but anyhow, i’m going to link a few other tutorials since they’re probably much better at this than me, lol ( one, two, three, four and a whole blog ). i rarely gif. for the doodle gifs i have a tutorial here already.
patience, and lots of it.
screencaps! normally i do this myself using this program + a video. i’m using bit of this video.
a sharpening action! i have my own but for the time being, i recommend these ( one, two, three ).
a psd! i’m using one of my simpler ones that I’ll share eventually.
STEP ONE, open all of your screencaps and place them in a blank canvas. it doesn’t matter how big they are now, because they’re gonna end up being 270x140 pixels.
STEP TWO, align everything on the canvas, create a new timeline for FRAMES, and then go to the three little lines on the side and click where it says “make animation from layers”. Make sure to delete any extra layers in there.
STEP THREE, now you’re gonna make sure that the loop is set to “forever” and that the time of the animation is between 0.06 and 0.07 seconds.
STEP FOUR, convert it to a video timeline and then select all layers and go “>filters, >convert to smart object”. now they’re one easy frame! now you can change the size to 270x140 by going “>options, canvas size” and then just matching the layer with the gif to the canvas.
STEP FIVE, apply your sharpening and other actions you may want, add any text, etc. you can also add you psd now!
STEP SIX, now save your gif by going “>file, >save for web” and make sure that it’s set to gif, and that the loop is set for forever.
ANNND… there you go! I hope i could explain myself well enough.
