Bug Crossing 🐛

I got the idea for this piece on a sunny day a while ago after seeing a beetle in the park struggle to get across the hot tarmac path, just a silly visual to explore the question of how much we should be mindful of the wildlife we share a habitat with - they live here too!

While working on some parent and merc art I had thoughts on whether or not to include headcanon parents for those who don't have any. And on that train of thought I realized that in the decade of me being into tf2 I don't think I've ever seen fic, art, or hc in which Medic had parents that he liked or got along with lol And I decided to be different in the most unhinged way possible and just go... "yeah he has two dads, yeah they're both weird scientists, yeah he's a test tube haunted slime baby, yeah his parents are Egon Spengler and Hebert West - the two pop culture icons he's heavily based off of" This is incredibly indulgent to nobody else but me lol - but now it's out there - and now this explains my personal hc that the medigun beam works like the proton stream in ghost busters, it locks into your soul

Little details & things about this SFM i felt like sharing!

• Soldier checks on scout when pauling suggests the idea of being god ("even us?")

• Something catches medic's attention during sniper's bit. Scout was originally going to run past, but it was cut so whatever it is happens off-screen (i like to think it's still scout)

• Spy has 1 or 2 things to say about engineer's response

• Pyro was meant to sit at the bridge in demo's scene, but the framing made it almost invisible so it was cut

• I really liked making pauling's last expression in the demo scene. This one goes out to the demopauling peoples

• Medic doesn't react to spy's response like heavy or miss P because he doesn't find it as jarring

• Spy's eyes stay on heavy for longer than originally intended but i liked it so much i left it in. Spoovy crumbs for myself

• I didn't give medic a chance to speak because we already know what he'd say (cue his "i am a god!!" voicelines) same could go for engineer but. France bit was too good to pass up and Also he's much more covert about his own complex i think
