in the case of Street Fighter V, and from what I understand FE: Fates, they didnt take the game away, but they did get them censored.

Citing a game whose premise is a bunch of pre-teen looking animated characters with watermelon tits play beach volleyball in string bikinis while the camera lingers lovingly on their pixel asses and tits when talking about a larger problem of mindless and unnecessary sexualization is not the same thing as creating a “feminist backlash” large enough to impact the release of those games.

The market has changed and those games sell like shit, and the developer used a convenient excuse that would play well with their target demographic: idiot gamers who love to latch onto any excuse to pretend they’re being persecuted.

I was talking about the DoA series more generally(of which DoAX is a spinoff). But I’m glad to see you concede my point: That feminists were indeed complaining about this ‘problem’ and this series in particular.

I’d also LOVE to see you try to substantiate your claim that it was all a lie to trick people into buying the game. I mean DOAX2 didnt sell as well as the first game(a fact I’m certain surprised nobody), but it still sold better in the US than anywhere else. Indeed the drop in sales was worldwide, not limited to one country or region.

Unless you think things have changed that dramatically since 2006. During which at least one more DOA game, Bayonetta, Assassins Creed, and a host of other games deemed ‘problematic’ by feminists have come out.

I didn’t say it was a lie to trick people into buying the game, that makes no sense - the game isn’t available in the US. It was PR spin on a decision not to release it here, probably because the company figured the cost/benefit of analysis of the costs of localizing it versus their projected sales wasn’t in their favor, but knowing this would be unpopular with the few who would have bought it, used a convenient excuse that scapegoated people they knew would appeal to their base.

Basically the venn diagram of “dudes likely to be pissed off DOAX3 won’t be available here” and “dudes who hate women” is a circle.
