In this work, the flowers were not chosen for nothing. Anemone and Higanbana have special dual meanings, which in my opinion, convey the entire philosophy and duality of the work "The Summer Hikaru Died".

🌼Anemone is considered the main flower symbolizing deception, as in ancient Greek mythology, it grew from the tears of a nymph who was betrayed by her lover. In modern times, anemone is the most romantic flower, as it means "I want to be with you".

🌸Higanbana has a dual meaning: on the one hand, it is a symbol of death, sorrow, and the other world, as the flower grows in cemeteries and often appears during the Buddhist holiday of remembrance of the departed, "O-Higan." On the other hand, its blooming after a long period of rest can be seen as a symbol of rebirth, new life, and hope, as well as a symbol of parting and waiting for a reunion.

Of course, everyone can interpret the work in their own way, but I wanted to convey my own perspective in this piece. Hikaru and Yoshiki are standing in the colors of the Higanban, which indicates Hikaru's death, but also Yoshiki's unwavering desire to stay with Hikaru. The anemone flowers have sprouted through Hikaru, but this is not the real Hikaru; it is a deception. However, Yoshiki accepts this deception, holding the anemone flower "I want to be with you" with care.
