Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch’s VA) interview from Resurrection pamphlet
This time I also combined the interview from regular version and deluxe version.

here’s my hot take on why r3 is a little messy in terms of what it means for suzaku and his future. spoiler cuts below and disclaimer: i REALLY enjoyed resurrection! but i did have an Issue...
so like. lelouch made suzaku zero for 3 reasons:
1. zero, as a constant symbol of justice, would eradicate the root of all evil, himself, after lelouch managed to consolidate power enough for nunnally to disperse it later after his death.
2. by having suzaku as zero, he’d essentially be nunnally’s knight, which was his whole plot from the beginning
3. (and this one’s important) suzaku would be forced to live on, completing his penance for the crimes that burdened him, but without the burden of his actual existence.
lelouch essentially tricked suzaku into living on in a way that suzaku was okay with. he satisfied suzaku’s necessity for masochism and atonement while simultaneously ‘killing’ him in a way that didn’t actually kill him. and suzaku accepted because this was his punishment, and he was the only one to be able to do it. jeremiah couldn’t do it, cc couldn’t do it, no one else. just him.
having lelouch alive negates all that.
because part of the burden of the title of zero comes from the fact that suzaku is the only one to be able to do it and that’s what makes it appealing to him as someone who feels like he needs to struggle and suffer. if lelouch is alive, then he’s fully capable of being zero again. it would be better, actually, if he were because suzaku can’t keep up with the intellect and tactical prowess that zero once displayed. truthfully, those kinds of skills shouldn’t be necessary anymore in a time of peace, but clearly in r3 the need for it arose.
lelouch feels like he should distance himself from world affairs now that he’s completed his goals, which makes perfect sense, but theres very little reason beyond the fact that his character arc as lelouch vi britannia is over that he shouldnt take up the mantle again. zero is an anonymous figure. in a time of peace, there’d be no reason to believe he’d ever really be unmasked, especially if he’s surrounded by trusted allies who know of the situation. suzaku doesn’t need to really keep going as zero for any other reason besides ‘i dont want to’ on the part of lelouch.
and what does this mean for suzaku?? that theres always going to be a possibility or chance that should he or nunnally be in danger or incapable of going forward with the plan of peace, lelouch will step in. he likely will not, given his response at the end of r3, but he possibly could. and as much as suzaku puts stock into lelouch’s convictions, that little, minuscule possibility lessens his burden as zero significantly, and therefore, negates the whole purpose of his existence as zero. he’s there to atone, and he can’t do it while knowing lelouch is alive.
hi im back on this hellsite because i just watched the resurrection movie and have some questions. spoilers cut below!
why did shamna want to ‘become the first human’ and recreate the world? because if it was for her country, she could’ve easily just negotiated with the UFN or even become a part of it and restructure their one trade (mercenaries) into something more benefiting the new peace (like manpower for infrastructure projects)? the fact that she wanted to do this for her country was what was written in the pamphlets but then the movie itself said she was doing this for her brother?? in which case, what was shalio’s deal? if she was so concerned about him having to rule the country on his own because of health issues, then she could’ve ruled alongside him as like a second in command?
also how in the world does shamna have a code AND a geass? lelouch got his through really bizarre circumstances and through a LOT of technicalities, but she just has both a code and a geass and it’s never really explained?
also, this movie went really into like. some of the laws of the world of C and things like that, including how lelouch stopped the formation of the sword of akasha and that’s why he had an incomplete code -- what does any of this have to do with the caretaker of space, who was very clearly linked to the world of c in the akito ovas, but was never mentioned ever again?
i really enjoyed the movie solely bc it was really REALLY indulgent but i do have some issues .. but at the very least, i wasn’t disappointed!!
hmmm today i want to
geass

it really bothers me that so many people on this site treat ableism like it’s black and white.
just now i saw a post where op was like “i’m glad that spinners are popular because it normalizes fidgets and decreases stigma” and someone replied like “no!! it’s absolutely TERRIBLE that neurotypicals are using these fidgets because when they get in trouble they make things harder for mentally ill kids!!” and like you guys do realize that? you’re both right? it isn’t a decisive fact that neurotypicals using fidgets is either good or bad, there are both benefits and consequences that need to be taken into consideration.
a few months ago there was a post going around that was like, *neurotypical voice* why are you bouncing your leg, and somebody reblogged it saying that the post was ableist because autistic kids can get overstimulated by leg bouncing. i go to a school for the mentally disabled, and i’ve been in this exact scenario, my classmate wasn’t able to focus because i was bouncing my leg and although i felt bad i told him that i wouldn’t be able to stop for long because i do it subconsciously due to my adhd. he wasn’t being ableist for asking me to stop, and i wasn’t being ableist for saying i couldn’t, we just both had different needs. in the end, our compromise was that i went to work in the computer lab.
you have to understand that there is always more than one side to issues like these, and that we should be striving for understanding and balance over demonization of one side and blind support of the other. this is especially relevant when people on both sides are mentally ill or disabled, because sometimes symptoms will clash and you just need to deal with it.
my favorite part of Death Note is when Light was secretly watching the news on that minature TV hiddin in his chips so he wouldn’t be seen doing it by L, and afterwards Ryuk is like “dude! that was actually…….. a pretty smart plan! but one question: you had to throw it away with the chip bag right? wasn’t that thing expensive?? like, 40000¥?!” and Light was like “haha yep” and Ryuk was like “man how did you even get the funds for that??” and Light was like “haha yep” and then the episode just abruptly ended without any further explanation

me, crouched down in front of my tomato plants, examining a pattern of insect bites on their lower leaves: i’m going to fucking kill whoever did this. i’m going to kill them for you. don’t worry, babies. I’m going to murder every single son of a bitch who ever got a mouthful of you. they’ll die screaming
my neighbor, who i did not realize was also outside, standing behind the fence: oh! okay. you’re talking to the plants. okay.
