Comet and Calyptra for @decaying-sunflower :))
@kissaubleu and I have together begun to devise a theory of Better Normal. Better Normal is a conscious effort to eliminate any and all pressure to be normal, as well as to foster an empathetic perspective on normal by dissecting the behaviors of those who defend or would like to assimilate into normalcy. Better Normal is a vision for our future; we must strive to believe "normal" itself can stop being a skeleton's curse that transmogrifies you into a cube. This will benefit not only Better Normal theorists but also self-identified normal people.
Your own Better Normal is waiting for you, if you can dream of building it.

They still do this, in the Age of Information
“crack the pelvis so she lies right. this is a mistake. when she dies you cannot repeat the act. the bones will not grow together again and the personality will not come back. she is going to sink deep into the moss to get white and lighter. she is unresponsive to begging and self-absorbed.” jenny holzer / arnhem 2017
Kathe Kollwitz, Raped, 1907.
One day, Jenny Holzer saw a picture. It showed a woman with her legs spread, lying in a forest after being raped and murdered. The drawing, by the unflinching German artist Käthe Kollwitz, provoked Holzer to write some text in the voice of an imagined adviser to the attacker. “Crack the pelvis so she lies right. This is a mistake. When she dies you cannot repeat the act. The bones will not grow together again and the personality will not come back.” [x]
