Ayako had curled up with a good book in her dorm room. She was engrossed in the romance novel so much that she failed to notice the commotion outsideâ that is, until her roommate Lacey began to yell.
âThatâs them! The weird person who smells gross like a human. Donât look at them, their ugliness might blind you!â The Sylphâs high-pitched voice carried, interrupting Ayaâs reading time.
Sighing, the Faerie yanked open the door before she collided with someone. She let out a yelp, and blinked in surprise. Lacey had run off with her stuck up clique, laughing as she continued to insult mortals.
âI see youâve met my roommate from Hell.â Aya stated, gathering some of the otherâs belongings that had fallen to the floor. There was no mistaking the strangerâs odd scent; they definitely werenât Fae. Still, the other student could just as easily be of mixed heritage. âWhat brings you to this realm? Any reason why youâd want to attend school here?â The majority of students at Meadows High School were Faerie, so if someone was noticeably different they became a laughingstock. âIs that everything? Oh. Wait, thatâs mine!â She quickly snatched the sappy novel from their belongings and chuckled sheepishly.
âAnyway, you should probably head to the Principalâs office.â Regardless of who they were, there was a strict no-bullying policy. Lacey might find herself in detention again, but said Sylph honestly had it coming.
