I really hope S3 fully portrays Armand's hate for fledgling because I don't think you can fully understand how special Daniel is to him without that context, I keep seeing people being like "Oh he cares for him" and I want to shake them crying about how of course he does of course THAT'S HIS ONLY EVERRRR FLEDGLING, which he turned out of love and fear of his death even though by his own logic it would mean dooming himself to be resented and hated by him, and he did it anyway!! It doesn't even matter what the show does with their relationship because it's all tied to a core characteristic of Armand (not wanting to make other vampires) which makes Daniel important in any version of the story
