Crocheted Pasta California-based artist Normalynn Ablao recreates one of my favourite foods, pasta all from looped yarn. Her work ranges from crocheting individual pieces of pasta to ricotta-and-sauce-filled lasagna.
nothing humbles quite like holding 7 hours of work in the palm of your hand.
Finally finished!!!
The medina tiles blanket is blocked and ready for its closeups. I absolutely adored making this, the colours are spectacular; even King Cole themselves said “wow!” on Instagram.
Rainbow Blackwork stitched by miss-hedgehog. Pattern ($6.03) designed by TrunkyStitches.
god my favorite part of knitting/crocheting/etc is watching string become fabric. crumpling it in my hands. this fabric would've never existed had I not willed it into being. it isn't fabric, it's time made physical. made material. isn't that the high of crafting? you mold time between your hands and put it into other people's hands. my least favorite part is when my cat tries to cram the whole yarn ball into his mouth
As i don't have a finished thing to post this week i'll try to again proselytize about how amazing using a trammed cross stitch is. I usually have this problem when i'm stitching with black on white cloth, where even though two strands on 14 ct works perfectly for every other color, i can see so much cloth behind my black stitches. I then don't want to go up to 3 strands for every color because only black needs that, so i run a straight line of color behind the stitches and it completely removes the problem. With this pattern, i'm having problems with the light-colored thread on the navy background but still you can see how great tramming works, both in the area i circled with a before and after, and in the border around the design. (also i love stitching on even weave, but dark even weave is as awful to work with as metallic thread, i should have just used aida to get this same effect)
Anyways I should have this done by next week to share with y'all.
i have no excuse, i had a free afternoon and an idea that has definitely been done a thousand times before

I made a little reference piece for my future embroidery projects. No more guessing how many strands I should use and regretting it later. 🤗 by NeedlessDesigns
