I was thinking of some platonic Eddie & Volt hcs with reader who has some level of androphobia (fear of men), being only comfortable with them but not really the other male objects.

a/n :: I love this idea!! idk if it’d be the right term for me, but I think I’m a bit androphobic myself and I love platonic fics, so it works perfectly !!
while for some the dateviators may seem like something fun, an enjoyable tool you could use in daily life, it was sort of a source of stress for you. The idea that men had been constantly around, where you couldn’t see or sense them? It was more than a little alarming. Maybe that’s why you’ve clung onto these two a bit.
You don’t know why Eddie and Volt have become the exception. Heck, you don’t even know if they know theyre the exception. But if you had a charge left before the club opened, or even if it was open but you’d been in an uncomfortable interaction with a man, you’d end up there.
“Ah! Live wire. What a delight to see you.” Volt would say. It was a routine, but a comforting one. They’d stopped asking why you’d come before opening after the 3rd time. Eddie even fixes you a drink before opening time, granted he would say it’s payment for your help. (Not that you needed anything in return)
To be honest though, Volt couldn’t help a bit of confusion. You never visited for shows at the Breaker Box. Of course, he’d take any time with you he could get anyway, but he worried. He knew Johnny splash was bad, but that bad to the point you’d barely come?
Tonight, luckily, you’d come anyway. To be fair, you’d just met Stefan for the first time. You were sure he was nice of course, but it was too overwhelming for you. Overwhelming enough for you to push past fear and enter the Breaker Box, all in hopes you’d get a moment alone with Eddie or Volt just for some assurance.
“Live wire. A special visit, during open hours? I’m pleasantly shocked.” Volt teased lightly as you entered, only slightly noticing your nervous form but not mentioning it.
You nod along. “Is Eddie here tonight?” You ask. You knew Volt had to host, and didn’t wanna bother him with your issues. Usually Eddie was at least a bit less busy, at the very least after you fixed them up.
Volt smiled a bit more at your question. “Let’s get you fixed up at the VIP table, and I’ll send him over.” The VIP table was your saving Grace for nights like this. While still not quite relaxed, it was away from most everyone else. You got to sit alone, a bit farther from the male occupants of the club so you could grin and bare it. You take Volt’s hand, letting him guide you to the table before going off to grab Eddie.
A few of the visitors noticed your unusual presence in the club. Namely, Hoove glanced over and saw your figure. You’d met once, and seemed incredibly uncomfortable around him but not wanting to be rude by leaving. He’d let you go quicker, and you practically dashed away. Volt noticed Hoove’s stare at his friend, and stopped by the table with a smile. “Hoove, how did our guest of honor catch your attention?” Volt asked, a bit curious.
Hoove looked over and smiled at the host. “Ah, nothing much. Just haven’t seen the human around here before, and it doesn’t seem like their typa scene either.” After a bit of explanation on that statement, it all clicked in Volt’s head.
Volt waved goodbye to Hoove, going back to his quest to get Eddie. Eddie was behind the bar, preparing a few drinks and giving them out to the appropriate people. Eddie looked over to Volt, waiting to hear what was needed.
It was a few minutes later that Eddie approached your table, your typical drink in his hand. “Hey, live wire. C’mon, get up for a moment.” Eddie motioned for you to stand up, much to your confusion but you followed the command and he handed you your drink.
Your eyes widened, now completely confused as Eddie moved your table back a few feet and away from everyone else. He wiped his hands together, slight dust that accumulated over the bit since the table was cleaned wiped off his palms. He turns with a tired look.
“If you were uncomfortable, me and Volt could’ve figured something out to help. Much prefer that to you just avoiding this place while it’s open all together.” Eddie said, almost scolding but in the way that showed he cared. That makes you blush slightly, and you look to the ground beside you in embarrassment.
He only had the chance to sit with you for a bit, but it was pleasant. It was more comfortable now, being away from the others and your fear slightly subsided.
After that night, you visited more often during open hours. The table was moved away permanently, looking like just part of the layout rather than an accommodation, and even then Volt or Eddie checked on you when able.
You were thankful, thankful that they never chastised your fear but instead accommodated you. Thankful that they never questioned that you still stuck with them, even if it was no one else.
sorry the ending was a bit abrupt, I wasn’t quite sure how to finish it off. I hope I did Eddie and Volt justice, and I hope I wrote this all accurately!! Have a great day y’all!!
