First fic I ever wrote and it's still going (occasionally).

There’s a cure for LV (probably). It’s completely safe (probably). It’s a highly unpleasant experience (definitely). Twist only cares about that first statement. He probably should have paid a little more attention to the other two. But what does it matter? Do you have a clip or reference of what twist voice would sound like. I love his accent but I can’t figure out if he’s got like a country or a sound more like reds slang help 🥰

Granted, this is sung, and while Twist’s voice isn’t based on this, as soon as I heard Hermes in the original cast of Hadestown, my first thought was, “That’s Twist. That’s exactly his accent and exactly his pitch and exactly how he sounds in my head.”

To be honest, I don’t know what accent this is? It’s more that I based Twist and Red’s speech on my own speech patterns, excepting word choices like “ain’t”. But I often find myself dropping consonants until the words slur into something that is still recognizable, but definitely isn’t as precisely pronounced as it probably should be.

Red’s speech is an exaggeration of that, and Twist’s is an exaggeration of Red’s.

twistfell and its characters are so endearing that i simply soak up any content i can find with them in it. i love twist, and his personality just makes my day. his design is spot on imo, and although i know his cracked socket should have more of a spiderweb effect, that simply isnt how i imagine him.

This is stunning. I love how you’ve drawn him here! The way his good eyelight shines is gorgeous, and the cracks in his bad socket are great! I love the lighting effects too—this piece looks magical.

(Underfell Alphys anon) You’re not too late; that’s fine, it happens. She’s not hostile; she’s wary and untrusting but not hostile. She’ll interact amicably and in a way that doesn’t give off too much of what’s she’s feeling until she trusts you enough. She’ll only really show the effects of the abuse during nightterrors/tell about the abuse when she feels said person is someone she can trust. She also can’t help but to flinch away during acts of flirty touching, especially by a male or Asgore.

Yeah, I’m sorry, Anon. I still don’t really have an answer for you? In general, I figure out how characters interact with each other by writing them?

It just depends on the tone you want for the fic, in that case. For the most part, the Twistfell boys will generally be kind if you’re kind to them. Especially if this is a surface fic.

There’s a lot that depends on the tone you want for the fic, though, and the role you want them to fill.

Sometimes, you really just have to figure this kind of thing out by writing the scene and seeing what happens.

How would the twist fellas react to meeting a Underfell Alphys that was mentally, emotionally, physically and sexually abused by her Asgore with crippling guilt over the horrific experiments on people(humans and monsters alike) he made her do? *CoughtottallynotaskingformentalfanficreasonsCough*

Oh! This slipped in without showing up in my feed, so I don’t know when it came in—sorry, Anon. Hope I’m not super late.

Though it’s a bit hard for me to give a good answer, I’m afraid. “What-if” scenarios are hard to respond to when I’m not familiar with all the characters involved. The way the boys would respond depends very heavily on how this Alphys would respond to them, how she presents herself, etc. Knowing her trauma is one thing? But people don’t usually carry that openly. Sometimes they lash out and are hostile due to their past traumas. Sometimes they need a lot of care and support and are more open about that need.

I can’t say that they’d have a particular reason to want to look past her behavior if this Alphys is hostile. Their own Alphys isn’t exactly the nicest person, so they’d probably avoid another Alphys demonstrating similar behavior, regardless of the cause, but especially if they don’t know the cause.

If she’s more vulnerable and looking for help, they might be more receptive. They’d want to help? But they probably wouldn’t know how—though, again, that does depend on the actual situation. If there’s a solid course of action to take to help, they’d do what they could.

This is my first time posting anything online or writing an actual story, so each one makes me incredibly happy (and makes me feel like ignoring everything I should be doing in order to write more). There’s nothing like a crisis to bring everyone’s issues to the forefront. These guys really get away from me. We haven’t yet gotten to some of the events that were originally planned for chapter 4. Meanwhile, they insist on having some pretty strong feelings for what’s probably still a gen fic, or at least gen-ish. But eh, why do relationships always have to fit into neat categories, anyway? I doubt any of these guys would be terribly concerned about it.
