The other day, maybe some time last week, I came into work humming a sing cheerfully. Probably a Christmas tune. My coworker who was at the time clock with me when I clocked in, laughed and said "You're never going to grow up, are you?"

I know she didn't mean any harm. She's one of the sweetest older women I work with, and she really likes working with me. She's said the same thing when I gushed over cartoons or pokemon before. But this time, it really struck a chord with me.

Is it childish to smile and stay cheerful? Childish to want to spread joy? If it is, then NO! I dont want to grow up.

What she didn't know was that I've been battling with really heavy depression and anxiety all month, and having enough cheer in my heart just to hum a tune was a triumph for me, and her comment dumped cold water on it.

I just want to be happy again. It's so easy to tell when I'm down because I'm usually so chipper and friendly, but lately it's been hard just to squeeze a smile onto my face.

Please be kind to everyone. You never know what they're going through.

I'm going through some stuff right now, fighting with depression and not clear on the source, so I will likely remain light on activity for the time being.

For those waiting on commissions, I thank you for your patience thus far. I am working on them slowly. It's just hard to sit down and draw after a work shift. I ask for your patience for just a little longer. If you would like an estimated date on when your commission will be finished, just DM me. I still have notifications on for DMs, so I won't miss it.

No update from tumblr about the status of my art blog. Half of me expects my whole account to be deactivated before they unblock it.
