I absolutely LOVE how much attention to detail went into this game. Crisis Core is a masterpiece.

I was always taken away with just how beautiful this Crisis Core intro scene is, with Zack's face backlit with this futuristic soft blue light, that I never noticed how deliberate everything is: we can't see the upper half of Zack's face, the helicopter has no reason to glow so brightly inside, and the background seems too far away for such a cramped space.

When the chopper doors swing open there is no blue light inside.

There is no blue reflected light anymore on Zack's face either.

The obvious explanation (that I never paid enough attention to notice before) is that we are not seeing Zack crouching in the chopper, we are seeing him crouching on the floor of the VR training room.

That's the source of the blue light, and we are only shown the bottom half of his face so we don't see the VR headset he's wearing.

To a very sharp eye they are giving a hint all is not as it seems. The rest of us, watching for the first time, think we're really watching Zack under Angeal Hewley's tutelage stopping a train full of Wutai troops from infiltrating Midgar. But...
