Favourite thing about them
He is the Turk.
You need a job done? Tseng will get it done, and he will do it professionally and without complaint. Competency would be his middle name, if he had a middle name.
And yet beneath that cool & calm exterior seethes an emotional inner life that would be the envy of any tortured poet. He cares, strongly, hopelessly, and with fervour.
Least favourite thing about them
Oh, Tseng. I have no least favourite things about him. I would say it's when he slaps Aerith but... honestly, it's in character.

Katana. They are both long-standing members of the Turks, and I have the impression/hc that Katana was running the secondary division in Junon. I think they connect in a way Tseng can't with his other colleagues.

I love Reno/Tseng, and I also enjoy Tseng/Aerith (even though it's doomed), and Tseng/Rufus.
nOTP
I'm not a giant fan of Tseng/Elena. He seems to find her perplexing in TKAA, and I think her crush on him is similar to a crush on a mentor rather than anything serious.
Random headcanon
I hc he spends a long time living in a crummy and tiny apartment because he doesn't really believe he's going to make it in the Turks.
He secretly enjoys hate-reading trashy adventure and spy novels. He likes to pick holes in them.
Unpopular opinion
He's not blindly loyal. He occasionally questions Veld's judgement. He's very very very pissed off at the state of Shinra by the time of the main game.
