i hate that I feel bad about not being able to post as much art as i would like to or even draw as much as i’d like to because i’m dealing with really bad PMDD every month. and on top of the fact that i also have to feel awful and guilty about having a fandom related hyperfixation right now that i can’t really control instead of working on my OCs. pmdd telling me to deactivate everything right now, but i’m trying so hard to resist. it’s so debilitating.

there’s something bothering me deeply about that ddlc artist on tt discourse. it’s giving me flashbacks. i don’t want to see anything about it on my timeline. just reminds me that no one cares if you draw these anime characters with white features or just straight up white. as long as you don’t make them blasian, give them wide noses, darker skin, or monolids!! (features real people of the ethnicity in question that are or aren’t even mixed DO HAVE and aren’t represented in media at all if they aren’t a villain or evil)

if you do, it’s a caricature and racist btw! you are simply too woke for representing stylized real life features!

White people in fandom are only ok with it cause to them being wasian or half white is "the best of both worlds". Also didn't the creator himself say multiple times you can hc the girls whatever you want cause their ambiguous? This is just people not wanting to see anyone darker then a brown paper bag on their screen.

this. but it’s not only about color. it’s about featurism as well. i’ve gotten the lashings first hand.

the way there was another artist that simply drew these ddlc characters as blasian and all they got was labeled as problematic and harassed into silence while this artist who drew them as white got misogynistic people changing the drawing’s features to match whatever their p*rn brains think women look like and arguments as soon as someone says they just look like yt people.. so it’s okay to make them white but inexcusable to simply make them blasian and certainly don’t give them societal unconventional features even if they’re just asian or else.

but overall just a mess of a situation. and emphasizing that the creator said everyone is free to view them as whatever since they have no canon ethnicity; people, both white AND other POC are just showing themselves again —> white supremacist mindset.

thinking about how people were talking to me just because i drew jjk characters as real regular people instead of supermodels 😭😭 (i did Not ask for this criticism. i was saying that it really upset me that people were calling me racist and making heavy assumptions about me):

i would genuinely say this is really all about racially motivated featurism. and i’ve noticed no one gives a fuck if you have ‘same face syndrome’ unless they personally don’t really like the art style or it’s just semi realism. (they were saying that ddlc TT artist had same face syndrome too)

i have more to say and do with this AU !! i just needed to get surface level notes out there and draw something in my 100 percent comfort zone which would be front facing portraits (for now). depression (PMDD) episodes seriously just beating my ass currently. bear with me y’all

been tryna to get into jjk several times, but admittedly im not one for action, and the closer to 30 i get the harder it is to focus on shows w teenagers haha

i love the character designs though. sukuna and the main character (they look the same?) whos name i think is itadori but i have swiss cheese memory, is really cool.

i dont know if you read fanfic, but do you have any fic recommendations with them? not as ship (well idc so long as romance isnt the focus) necessarily, i just like death themes in general

thank you! 💗💗 yeah ironically enough, even though the main characters are kiddos, jjk has mostly characters above 18 😭 some of the most beloveds are in their late 20’s to mid thirties and even older.

i would definitely recommend trying again with a clean slate of mind. jjk is actually an incredibly good piece of art when you ignore everyone else, use your reading comprehension skills, form your own opinions, know what NUANCE is, and are mindful of the conditions the mangaka (gege akutami) was in when he made and completed it… and also having an understanding of cultural contexts of the story. just media literacy…

sukuna and yuji itadori (the main character) are related. that’s why they look the same; as i wrote in the notes. they are supposed to. that is actually canon.

i guess i overestimate jjk’s popularity because whenever I post about it, everyone acts like they have no clue what i’m talking about so i literally ??? did i step into a portal? i guess i thought it was more well known because i’ve been hyperfixated on it, on and off since 2019… and have been interacting / engaging with the huge fandom it had. even long enough to see how much it’s drastically changed (negative connotation 💔)

it is critically underrated in the west …. 💔💔 i genuinely think it’s because of the cultural differences that are very heavy in jjk. no slandering jjk on my watch.

i have read so many fics over the years!! trust me i KNOW some but unfortunately, changing phones made me lose all the ones i saved in notes. i forgot their names unfortunately. and i haven’t read nearly as much fics as i would like recently.

anyway, like i said sukuna and yuji are related, so it’s incredibly gross to ship them at all. i do have some papakuna and big brother kuna AU fic recs that i love !!! there are plenty of these fics out there, but i haven’t read all those, so i’ll drop the ones i have read.

since i always associate my characters with animals, i had an idea to draw my ocs as furries. but sometimes, even though i see uluwehi as an otter 100%, bc she just is, i could also be a bunny. i already know sione would be an owl because one of his formations is literally a great horned owl resembling creature.
