Jexima’s Mini-Contest Entries (2014)
Details:
http://steamartpunk.deviantart.com/art/Jexima-s-Contest-Annabelle-447668085
Characters belong to: http://jexima.tumblr.com/ and http://jexima.deviantart.com/ (What of course they’re not the same people! 0v0)
Back in the middle/early 2014 I had in issue where my tablet cable got damaged (Bamboo Pen non-wireless) and so I had to move back to traditional art! This was the result for a contest entry! Switching of styles and in the end I actually somehow won the contest for both characters! Characters belong to the absolutely fantastic Jexima and if you haven’t checked out her comic I’d definitely recommend doing so!
Confused Wanderer. Drew this little guy/gal around middle of October'ish? Gods it’s been a while since I’ve been on. But yeah I drew a little circle and then it ended up as him/her :3
Year of the Horse (11th January 2014) by Kim Ismara
“Of all the animals, you are the most alive, the most energetic and enthusiastic. You are the life and soul of the party, the entertainer, the amusing wit, the center of attention, the raconteur, the host, the conversationalist, the put-people-at-their-ease and let-them-have-a-good-time sort of animal we all love-and that’s what people do around Horses: they love them..”
So I went today to an art studio to do some work and well..this was the result! We were originally meant to be doing chinese-style ink art but I might have gone a little overboard. So enjoy and also Happy Year of the Horse everyone.
Part of a workshop at an art studio early last year. I really need to try using those gorgeous inks again. They were absolutely fantastic to work with. I had no idea whatsoever in terms of how to draw a horse so this was literally an on-the-spot inkwork.
Clockwork Past (2011-2012)
“Time is a created thing. To say "I don’t have time”, is like saying, “I don’t want to…” ~ Lao Tzu 老子
Everyday, though we all face different kinds of difficulties and problems, we grow older, wiser and stronger. We move with the flow of time, living out our lives and trying to make the most of it. Around about either two or three years go I began planning out what I was going to do for a Pop Art project at my old high school and we had to create just some random piece with some kind of a message. I was just scrolling through some of my old folders and realized that I never did actually post up any of these images anywhere so now I decided to get it up for the first time here.
The cogs are a representation of the inner workings of our own lives, the cogs and wheels that help to move the hands of our lives across our own clocks. My message to you all is that look around you, experience things and try to open your eyes just a little wider. I still need to figure out how take my own advice but hey, give it a try and make the most of things.
A work I did a fair few years ago! Had to create as part of my Middle School Visual Arts Course’s “Pop-Art” Unit.
New Art Blog!! Also a starting-point in terms of transitioning to a new name!! I’ll try and get up all my bits and pieces in the coming weeks till’ then ciao!!
