Apple iPhone HOMERUN!!!

Today! is a wonderful day! @least for me. After so many months of using my iPhone 4 as iPod Touch. I now have phone calling functionality.

I know there are a Million+ Phone users worldwide, that are waiting for an unlock to start using their iPhone.

Today! that wish has been granted! With just a few steps, you will be dancing to 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, 95014

Here are the official steps and a few steps i added, because that was how i got my activated.

STEP 1:

YOU NEED TO JAILBREAK!  - http://www.iclarified.com/jailbreak/index.php

STEP 2:

Head over to http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=21501 and follow the steps until Step 16!

Step 17:

Most of you might not know the original country or region your iPhone belongs or was meant for. So head over to http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Model_Regions with the model number of your iPhone.

Step 18: 

Head over to http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=21501 and follow the steps  from Step 18: 

After you have completed step 23, press the home button.

Before you connect your iPhone to your pc / laptop, tap on settings, Then tap on airplane mode to activate airplane mode.

With Airplane mode ON, connect your iPhone to your pc / laptop! once you see iTunes launching (STARTING)! Toggle Airplane mode off, so the activation process can start.

If iTunes still reads "THIS SIM CARD IS NOT SUPPORTED"! Disconnect your iPhone, close iTunes, and repeat the step again.

If you did it correctly! you should be able to proceed through 24 to the end of the tutorial!

Track your laptops, Pcs and Android phones (Repost)

This application allows you to track your laptops, Pcs, and android phones, though the project is relatively fresh, the developers claim they are working on porting their software to the iPhone platform, Blackberry platform and then to other phone platforms.

Basically what this software does is, it installs a small tiny agent onto your device,

Once you can’t find it, you then send an SMS to your device and then you go online to start tracking.

Pretty simple.

But I must say that your devices need to have constant Internet service on them to be able to track.

The software is called PREY and you can download and try it out.

They have a nice and simple tutorial on how to setup and configure your device.

ADVICE

BEFORE YOU START USING THE APPLICATION, ENSURE THAT

the device is yours.

You have set a password during the boot up sequence of your device.

You have some sort of insurance policy from your local insurance company.

Once your device gets missing, PLEASE REPORT TO THE NEAREST POLICE STATION, THEN GRAB OR GO TO THE NEAREST INTERNET CAFE.

START TRACKING YOUR DEVICE AND GIVE THE MAP OR DIRECTIONS TO THE POLICE.

Use the police report to demand a replacement device from your insurance company.

IOS5 & Gevey Sim

Today's Post is about how to use your gevey sim on IOS5,

I upgraded my iPhone4 from 4.3.5 to IOS5 on thursday, and had the shock of my life, Nothing worked, YES!!!,

I fell in love with all the features in IOS5, that i was hooked, but then my gevey sim didn't work!

After 24hrs, without Phone, or sms, i got angry and decided to take matters into my own hands, then just then, the iPhone Dev Team, released REDSNOW and UltraSn0w. And i said ALAS!! we can now get IOS5 to work unlocked, but then another disappointment, because, UltraSn0w didn't come with any new baseband unlock. Poor Me!

So i did, what i had to do;

Downgraded IOS5 to 4.3.3, which also downgraded baseband 4.10.08 to 4.10.01, which makes gevey sim work!

Using Redsnow, to preserve my baseband, i upgrade just the main OS without Baseband updating.

Then, put my sim (AIRTEL-GH) with GEVEY SIM into the iPhone4.

Then, the Gevey Sim, welcome notice came up, Tapped on Accept, then next came, No Signal.

Opened up the dialer screen, Dialed, 112 after 2 seconds hanged up.

Went into Settings, toggled airplane mode OFF, then notification, NO SIM, then toggled back ON again, another notification, INVALID SIM, then toggled off again (AIRPLANE MODE).

After the Notification, toggled ON AIRPLANE MODE, and after a few seconds i get

Hi Marcel, on your iPhone, do you have Personal Hotspot, or Wireless Tether enabled, if yes, then activate, this wireless tether or personal hotspot from your iPhone.

Then, on your iPad, open up, WI-FI, and scan for a network, you should see your iPhone's wireless link and then connect.

You will need to enter the PassPhrase.

We will miss you ;( - STEVE JOBS

Today is a sad day, and has leave a dent on my mind and calendar, The death of a great man Steve Jobs, I profoundly called my mentor.

Though i never got to meet him personally, (Even though i'd planned to go for the iPhone 4S launch, Work didn't gimme the break i needed). Nevertheless, he touched my life in so many ways. My first laptop @ age 7 was the 2 generation mac laptop. The most important part of my life that steve touched was my motorbike accident on the 3rd of August 2011, where my macbook pro with thunderbolt, save my life (if my mac wasn't in my backpack, i would have being dead, saved my spine!). This is the first time i am speaking about my accident publicly.

For a while now, i've being actively working hard at coming up with my own version of the iPhone 4 jailbreak, though without luck, i stumbled on something extraordinary, yes it is true that Apple signs IPCC's i have being able to create one, and enable PERSONAL HOTSPOT. I live in Ghana, and yes i am able to create a PERSONAL HOTSPOT, to surf the web etc anywhere i am in Ghana,

My most recent was, 2 weeks ago, i went to my project site in one of the remote parts of Ghana, where mobile phone signal don't work as they all claim.

I found a spot with just enough signal strength, placed my iPhone there and voila, i was able to send my project reports from my mac. My friend had her iPad and she was able to Skype with her Grandkids.

It was exciting!!!!!

Today, is very sad, but after watching AC360 on CNN, (A playback of Steve Jobs' talk @ Stanford University), I was taken back by Steve's speech, about looking into the mirror everyday and saying "If today was my last day on earth, what have i achieved!"

On that note, i've decided to share my airtel profile to all Airtel users in Ghana, who use the iPhone 4, regardless whether you using the Gevey sim or got it unlocked, it will work.

First download the file, onto your computer, then email it to yourself, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT, THE EMAIL IS CONFIGURED ON YOUR PHONE. ELSE IT WON'T WORK. Access your mail from your iPhone.

THEN FOLLOW THE REMAINING INSTRUCTIONS ON YOUR iPHONE, will distribute the IPCC's for the rest of the networks in Ghana, after mourning Steve Jobs.

Only a few weeks after the 4.3.1 untether created by @i0n1c was released, Apple pushed out firmware 4.3.2. Thankfully, it appears Apple didn’t have a chance to fix the hole used by @i0n1c’s untether, so he ported his code over to 4.3.2’s kernel. Today’s redsn0w has been updated to include it.

The 4.3.2 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.2 except for the iPad2:

Free iTunes Account

This How-To, will have you create an itunes account, where you will be able to download free AppsStore Applications for  you iPad's, iPhones and iPodtouch.

To begin,

Step 1: Open up iTunes, Click on the store

Step 2: in the search area, type facebook or twitter or any free apps in the store.

Step 3: Click on download/buy,

Step 4: Click to create a new account, then enter your email address and password.

Step 5: click on none, for the payment option, the click on this link (CLICK HERE),

use the address info on the external link to fill the forms in itunes.

Step 6: Check your mail for the confirmation mail from apple.

Step 7: Click the link in the confirmation mail, this will authenticate you and open up iTunes.

Step 8: Once iTunes opens up it will automatically sign you in, and the item you chose in STEP 3 will begin to download.

Now that you have an iTunes account, you can fully enjoy all the features of having an APPLE PRODUCT.

Furthermore, if you are into music (WE ALL ARE), you can take advantage of the iTunes Genius, which is another blog note on its own.

With this iTunes account, you can download Album Art Covers once all the meta tags are accurate, Get access to downloading free music from the AppStore once per week, because iTunes Staff Pick One Artist, One Album, One Video, One Thriller, One of basically everything in the AppStore per week.

How can I make radio more personal to my listeners, by direct reception on mobile phones via the internet... Koby?

Thank you for your question!!

Yes there are various ways of making radio more personal,

Like, the way BBC does it, where people callin to listen via telephony networks, 

Via the internet, through mobile phone apps.

But my best option in Ghana would be over the Teleco's Network, No telephone compression needed, just your phone as the radio and the teleco's network as your antenna.

This way user can send messages to you without using his/her units, You could if possible (**if the phone supports it), have multiple video chats with your listeners, possibilities are endless.

Reminds me of a project i did for one of the radio stations in Ghana, waiting on them to commission this service.

Of which i Term "DIGITAL RADIO"...
