How it feels writing a school for good and evil fic when the fandom is dead as hell and literally like everyone is gone đđđđ€Ą
Gay Tedros + Stupid Character study
I have been seeing Tedros hate flaring again and feel like I must defend him as his number one glazer.
Is it stupid to say that I am very fond of the idea of gay Tedros? I think it might be. I think it is the evil whispering in my ear. I do like Agatha and Tedros together immensely also.
However, a lot of the fandom hates Tedros for being clingy, smothering Agatha, and being too much, and while yes the âplease donât leave meâ behavior can be exhausting.
Still, I feel as if the grace that people extend to Agatha and Sophie as immature, frightened children rarely reaches him, and almost never from his perspective. He is judged like he is an adult man making calculated evil choices and I always find it a bit strange. This is not to say Tedros is amazingly written because heâs definitely not but I really think the bones of his character could have been so much more!
This boyâs entire concept of ever after is built off what the stories kept show them. Itâs both his literal education and the way the world fundamentally works. Itâs why I get slightly peeved when people ignore that main component of his character to call him names. He is raised inside a system that treats the romance arc like law.
And then look at what that same system hands him. His father dies begging him to choose correctly, to not repeat the mistake of loving someone who will leave him empty.
His âprincessâ closes the storybook by telling him princes are not needed at all, then Sophie returns and plays with his expectations while presenting herself Filip.
The characters around him were allowed the full weight of their own flaws.
Sophie gets to be villainous and redeemed and confused and beloved. Agatha gets to reject the fairy tale framework entirely and have that treated as radical and correct. People can understand that Agatha is having her worldview taken apart fundamentally, so she lashes out, and that reads as nuanced and sympathetic. Tedros does not get that same allowance, even though his worldview is also being torn apart.
The ârulesâ of his universe are the only thing he has, and then throughout the books everyone keeps proving those rules are flimsy or weaponizable, while still blaming him for not adapting quickly and gracefully. And in their world, when you deviate too far, reality itself starts punishing you, like the whole sun-melting thing once the story breaks in the third book (lmfao).
The nuance that the narrative extends to the girls does not seem to follow him. And think to be queer on top of all of it. To carry abandonment in one hand and desire in the other, and to have both of them mean to the world around you, that you chose wrong. It was scandalous, incomprehensible even, to date someone evil such as Sophie, imagine being gay!
The stories that govern the laws of his world have already written the ending he is supposed to want, and as we have seen in the second book, the stories donât just describe what love looks like, they govern what it is allowed to be. There is no version of ever after, in his world, that was written for him. The question isnât just about whom he loves; itâs about the validity of that love in a world that refuses to acknowledge it. Why is my love different than yours? Why is the love that feels so natural to him considered a deviation from the only truth his world accepts?
There is something unbearable about a character who is queer in a world built entirely on the heterosexual ever after.
If you read this silly rant thanks! I am trying to work on finishing my other Agatha and Sader fic soon!
Fun Fact: August Sader is revealed to be the youngest in his family! He's also forever the youngest, since the Sader line died with him.
Scintillare my son đ§
i am going stir crazy going to post about whatever!!!
This is super duper duper duper old! like Four years but I never posted it so it should come to light
I think iâll rewrite some of I sent to see my father, iâm not sure how to write confrontations without it being redundant, or perhaps more August homosexual behavior. I think very hard
If you're #2 August Sader fan who's #1 (Is it Rhian LMAO)
The true August fan is @qianzhangs I am Tedros glazer 1,000
Now that I have failed Chinese class I can turn to more pressing matters đ»đ»
Traveling back in time to blow my head off before ever learning Chinese
I lied Iâm never gonna upload again the next chapter will rot in my docs eternally. How deeply I suffer! Woe is me!
sge thread tag all your friends
you can choose any of the following sge questions, either using a random number generator, or just your brain! you can reblog this and answer the questions you picked AND also tag some other friends you may think would be up for the challenge! (ahem ahem and get me more engagement ahem)
now, choose a number between 1-24
hop on! these are my favourite questions but i will probably do the rest in another rb
1/5/9/10 (favourite character): OH YOU ALREADY KNOW. my favourite (side) character/staff member/whatever his alignment is forever & always my guy august sader, who has unlimited potential when it comes to weird meta and being a little fucked in the head
13 (OCs): january & july sader, the older sader brothers! they come into existence here but rundown is - january is 20 years older than august, is a painter, gay married & got disowned for it, and helped raise august; july is 17 years older, very very estranged, trying to be "normal" and having feelings about it
17 (fic/art): here is my ao3 account and here is my dovesso primer (æœç§»é»ć / these things take time) which is my favourite SGE fic that i've written! you can search #sge november prompts on here for prompt fills as well
18 (complaint about a fave): DUDE. i dislike the blind seer trope just being there with absolutely no elaboration on august's blindness and how it affects him, or any accessibility, or how i'm pretty sure he canonically is supposed to "see history"?? my version of august just gets information about the future downloaded into his head
tagging @atropinenightshade @kkakorrhaphiophobia @classclowns @finalgirlagatha (no pressure though!)
This is what I get for not checking tumblr!!
Teehee
1/5) I think either August Sader or Agatha đ shout out to 13 year old me reading August getting blown to bits and then never getting another appearance again.
23) I am not sure, I do remember getting them when they were first released because my mom had found some at the store! I remember stopping when the first of the Camelot trilogy was released but I will definitely try to read those.
17) The lion writes boo boo fan fic when he is not getting killed by Chinese class on ao3 @Phiophobia
24) Absolutely not!!!!
18) I wonder why Soman never did anything about all the fairytales being in different time periods. Yes! Hail sir Tedros from the 5th century! The most gallant advocate of womenâs rights! It also makes me wonder if he speaks like a complete weirdo compared to the rest of the school.
I actually have like no followers on this account no one to tag sorry!!! đââïžđââïž

14: forgiveness
ââYou must know that your sister will never forgive you,â Rafal says curiously. âFor whatever she thinks youâve done, at any rate. Letting her have a chance. And then letting it be taken away.â
Sader stays quiet, patient. Waiting to be dismissed. He has a way of silence that sets Rafal on edge; a silence laden with things unsaid, with things that Rafal cannot ever begin to understand.
He is loath to call it disturbingâ but Sader, at the heart of it all, is disturbed. And though he might not care, it is certainly discernible to anyone watching him closely enough. As Rafal does. As Rafal will.
âAs I said,â Sader offers, finally, almost bored, âperhaps sheâs just here before her time.â He knows something. Obviously. He always knows something. Rafal cannot bear it, Sader and his careful neutrality, his trained apathy. It is wretched, how much he cares.
âI was given to believe that Evers cared about family,â he jabs, if only for the sake of saying it. âAbout love. About doing right by it.â
âThe Sader family is not traditionally Good,â Sader says, still soft, still desperately unreadable. âTo us, there have always been things that matter more than love. But I would assume you know all that already. You are quite familiar with our line.â
He says it like a matter of fact, which it is. Which it must be, to him. It is Saderâs wont to always know more than he should. He calls himself a studentâ and teacherâ of history, and so the secrets he deals with are those of the last, antithetical to his Sight as it is.
To Rafal it is a discomfort; an unease; a danger, even. Sader knows of his long-dead ancestors, those who first spoke to Rafal and his brother so long ago. He knows of Peter Pan and Hook and everything in between.
And he knows about Rhian. Of everything, that is the one secret Rafal must take to his grave. The one secret he cannot afford to let go.
It is fortunate, he supposes, that Sader is so inclined to silence. He is perhaps the one person left Rafal cannot afford to kill.
(Heâd thought that before; Sader must know that, too.)
âAnd I think,â Sader says abruptly, into the lull of silence, âthat of all people, surely you must understand why love can so easily take second place. I will do what I must.â
It is also particularly annoying that Sader fails to be scared of anything. If he has not Seen it, it must simply not be true, and if he hasâ there was never anything to be scared of. Someday Rafal will cheat fate, just to see the fear on his face.
But for now Sader says exactly what he wants to, and Rafal bears it as he always has done. It is not often that Sader prefers to run his mouth. Certainly he has far more often been obedient; been quiet. No matter how infuriating that is, either.
Breathe in. Breathe out. âYou arenât wrong,â Rafal concedes. He gave up on love a long time ago. He knew what the price would be; he knew it would haunt him. Hundreds of years render the memory hazy. But this is crystal clear: he knew, and he chose anyway.
âThey are not going to forgive you,â he says. âNot now, not ever.â A warning, perhaps. Though heâs not sure what compels him to say it.
âThere will never be forgiveness for me,â Sader says readily. Easily. In his mouth, his steady voice, it feels something like a prophecy. âIâve made my peace with that. Have you?â
Do I post art here too? These are old. I have things I will never finish but I wish to show them . How wonderful
